Fun Fact: The Slowbro form of Shellder was an actual Gen 2 beta Pokemon named Tuuran / Turban. Wish we got to see it in action!

You know there's regular flora and fauna in pokemon, right? Dogs, fish, birds, germs, trees, grass, etc
Although Burmy has three forms normally, there's one more form where it doesn't have a cloak. It's not obtainable in-game, but there is official artwork for it.

The Spiky-Eared Pichu replacing the originally planned White Pichu was a devoper in-joke. One of the staffers in internal memos would consistently make a typo when describing the upcoming white Pichu, calling it spiky-eared Pichu instead. Having a laugh about this, they ultimately decided to roll with it.
Personally I would've liked if they kept the ear spikes but added the white color as well.
How does the typo work in Japanese?
There is also one Pokemon I would like to mention: AZ's Floette. At one point it was supposed to be given away in a gen 6 event with it even having it's own stats. But this Pokemon was never released.
It only became relevant agian because some fans think it might be a Paradox or Convergant Pokemon.
It even had a signature move - Light of Ruin.
This! It seems like Game Freak is trying really hard to make everyone forget about this pokemon, I just can't.

@@Fabio-lq7wb if they were trying to make people forget, they would stop putting it in the games. However, it is still present in the code for Scarlet and Violet.
@@superairdog6136 GF had a chance to release this pokemon back when 6th gen was relevant, even in 7th gen when you had all the pokemons in the code of the game would be acceptable and they didn't do a thing. Since then, they are ignoring this pokemon non-stop, unless they are willing to do something in this generation, having this game in the code is pointless.
I really hope we get a Legends Arceus style game based around “The original dragon” set in ancient Unova
Oh how much I'd love to play a game revolving around The Original Dragon, Kyurem. Maybe it's summoned by a bad actor during some kind of war and it's our job to stop it or something?
It’d probably break the meta game but we already have so many Pokémon that do sure why not
The timeline for that would be kind of awkward, since the legends of old Unova are implied to be very old. The Dragonspiral Tower is over 2500 years old and is completely sealed before Team Plasma does its thing, and what's inside? One of the two dragons.
The other is buried in the Desert Resort, near the Relic Castle which is itself 2500 years old.
This implies that the war of the two brothers' children took place 2500 years ago and Reshiram and Zekrom were dormant ever since. A bit too early for you to be anything but a mere Pokémon Wielder with maybe 3 Pokémon.

With Ultra Necrozma being the behemoth that he is, it's strange to see them absent, especially with Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings still existing. I know without Z-Moves he can't really Ultra burst but it just kinda feels weird to me.
I know it's Pikachu's signature thing, but maybe it would be interesting if DM and DW could ultra burst past Sun and Moon if they were holding the Light Ball.
Just bring back Ultranecrozmium without the Z-Move functionality. It's really not that hard.
Also Z-Moves have originated from Necrozma like Pokemon (or straight up from it). Bringing only Necrozma's Z-Move would be nice touch.
Just wanted to say that Kleavor is a good contender for the base of Genesect; it's also an extinct pokemon, shares the bug typing (and it's future variant, Scizor, shares its dual typing with Genesect), and its body is almost 1:1 for Genesect's, matching its torso, waist, and abdomen to a T, with the arms and legs being similar enough that any difference can be excused away by reconstruction. Of course the head is different, but they made Genesect's head look like a car and that clearly isn't natural. Likely another point of armouring/reconstruction. True and it makes more sense then my original headcannon of it being Kabutops. Only reason I gave that slight credit was even though it was Water Type it was a Water Bug. And the Rock Type could easily be upgraded to Steel. But Kleavor kind of ties this all together way better than that, Shame we will prob never get a confirmation since they are vague as hell. And seem to forget about half these things over the generations.
@@dr.dylansgame5583 I wouldn't call Kabutops a bug. An Arthropod, sure, but not a bug. Kinda like how crabs and spiders are both eight-legged Arthropods, but crabs aren't arachnids.
It's probably not true and I'm not _quite_ sold on it, but it's a neat theory/headcanon.
Since Box Legends weren’t allowed in 2017-18 and Ultranecrozium Z was banned for the majority of VGC 2019, it means that U-Necrozma was only ever legal in VGC for ~5 months.
Also Spiky-eared Pichu needs to come back, please Game Freak, I beg.
Ultra series ran from April - December 2019 so it was 9 months

Maybe it can have a similar ability to Dondozo too, when placed in double battle with Slowpoke it boosts slowpokes stats and maybe gives it an exclusive move or buffs another exclusive move it gets in that region only
Another form that we may or may not see in the future is Arceus's true form, as it's been teased, especially in Legends: Arceus that the Arceus we know is merely a puppet to what the actual Arceus is. Maybe it looks like it's beta designs where it's clouded in a cloudy mist so us humans can see the real Arceus without outright killing the people who view it.

Notched Ear Pichu was like my first event that I got to do with everyone else as a community and I loved mine! However, I was crushed when I couldn't trade it. Since then, I only really want to collect pokes if they can be traded throughout the other games. Anytime anything was really cool looking or a special costume, I always had to take a step back since it was only going to be available for that game usually.
A Dragon Variant of Arbok would be nice to complement the Fairy Weezing.
IIRC Lance uses them in the Stadium games, and it's also an Agatha Pokémon.
Also Arbok falls under Dragon Egg Group like Gyarados, Charizard and Sandaconda which are used by Dragon trainers like Lance, Clair and Raihan
Plus Sceptile who was a Dragon type Mega Evolution
Either that or a Garbodor Regional Form that's Poison/Steel type. That'd be pretty fun...

I would have given Arbok the Dark typing instead, it needs something to offset its weakness to Psychic. Plus, I do find it to be a more complementary typing to Arbok considering its Pokedex entries.

@@russellharrell2747 It's based on mold stuck on rocks, so it's kinda impossible to get its noodly body off its shell without killing it, like a turtle on steroids.
For the genesect kabutops theory..id like to add that shellfish are often described as the bugs of the sea/ocean, and water/bug could have been kabuto/kabutops' original type before being ressurected from a fossil added the rock type. Just my own thoughts on the theory
Some parts of your theory is correct like crustaceans being the bugs of the sea. But the other parts are a bit suspect like Kabutops having an original type that's different. For all we know, it could've always been Rock/Water type. It's only a fan theory that the fossil revival machine makes Pokémon into Rock types. Maybe Rock types are the ones whose DNA traces last the best?
Wimpod is another crostacen and is water bug
@@GoinGreninja fossils quite literally are just rocks that take the shape of decomposing bones, so it makes sense for fossils to be returned as rock types. additionally, kabuto/ps is a horseshoe crab, one of the inspirations for wimpod, which is also a water/bug.
@@viviolet7 Yes, fossils are rocks that take the shape of bones but as far as the machine is concerned, it could just be reviving the Pokémon by scanning the DNA left within it. Again, the machine making them Rock type is just an unconfirmed fan theory. Better to not use it as fact, yeah? Even I don't use my own speculation that I'm doing right now as fact. I've always used the word could and possibly because nobody truly knows how the machine works and thinking so to me is weird.

I think Genesect is more likely a Kleavor. pretty sure people were just claiming it was Kabutops since we didn't have anything close enough at the time. but if you rip the axes off Kleavor & slowly turn the rock portions to steel armor ya got the perfect Genesect.

I never played New Pokemon Snap, but the fact an Applin without its apple shell exists was mindblowing. Since the game came out, I lived an ignorant and fruitless period of time.
I thought for sure you were going to mention the Gen5's strange NPC-only enemy Pokémon you face against in the TV sidegames. Still, I didn't know about most of these, great video!
Ash Greninja is another form to be lost, as it was not shown in Pokemon Journeys, Battle Bond had it's effect changed, with Ash Gren gutted. And the only times we've seen it since are Smash Ultimate, ATBAPM's OP, and icon art leaked for Pokemon Home.
So in a way, it existed almost as shortly as Ultra Necrozma.
Ash greninja exists in aim to be a pokemon master opening....🤷♂️ unless you're just talking about the actual episode where we see ash greninja in journeys art style
Technically Pikachu Libre is the only one available through Go Battle League in Pokemon Go. Pop star and rock star were featured in an event and not even available in Go anymore if you missed them.
Fun fact about the Genesect Kabutops thing: it’s actually been referenced in official media, in particular the TCG where the shining genesect card artwork is a reference to the original shining Kabutops card.
So every Friday, I pick my son up from school around 3pm(EST) and it just so happens to be a pretty consistent schedule from you. It really makes sitting in the school pickup line far, FAR more enjoyable.

Surfing Pichu and the dizzy punch Pokemon cannot be transferred up either. They are stuck in Gen 3 and Gen 2.
I wonder if the hint of Magikarp being strong in the past might mean we could get a Paradox Magikarp in Scarlet.

Snowless Vanilluxe would be friends with cubeless Eiscue! They look really similar.
Something I’ve always wondered about was whether or not Cubone and Khangaskan are actually related. Baby Khang and Cubone look very similar, with their only real difference being the skull helmet.
Does baby Khang become Cubone when it gets the skull?

They should just introduce Turban as its own Pokémon. It doesn't matter anymore, we know it wasn't meant to be a "Shellder" to begin with.
Even then, they could make it a new evolution of Shellder. It doesn't even need the Slowpoke Tail item to evolve, it could be a new item to explain why this evolution wasn't possible before.
Or maybe just... Do it anyway. Just like they did with Steel and Dark type in Gen 2, acting as if making such a discovery would un-poison my Gen 1 Magnemite.
There is another Secret Pokemon form from the Fifth Generation, some of the Pokedex entries from Cryogonal metion a Gas or Arealite form of this Pokemon, this happen during the Summer because is Ice Body melted by the Heat and only during the Winter Season it regain is original Body
I am still waiting for the moment when we can finally use Ultra Necrozma in a Gen other than 7.
There's always Pokémon Showdown I guess.

Mega Evolution: Are we a joke to you?
2 more lost forms: Kangaskhan's baby pokemon is one we've never got to play with (although it could be debated it's more of a prevo).
The other form(s) are a female Hitmon-(s) (& maybe a female Tyrogue). The fact that the Hitmons (& Tyrogue) can only be male, yet they can only breed with a ditto, implies that a female "Hitmon-" species exists and the Ditto is transforming into that. If the Ditto was transforming into a male, then the Hitmon-s would be able to breed with each other but they can't. So how do the Hitmons breed in the wild where there are no dittos?
If they cared enough about the breeding loopholes we’d have had those answers like three or four generations in. Hitmontop was the last of its kind.
There is more like that: While the Nidoran M family and Volbeat got proper breeding mechanics with their ocunterparts, the same is not true for some, such as Tauros. It is just seen as separate from Miltank, and as breeding without a ditto will always follow the mother's species, no tauros without ditto. In the same way, there's Throh, Sawk, Braviary, and Impidimp.
Also interesting to note is that Pokémon treats the gender of them as a biological aspect, but that doesn't really make sense with the unbreedable gendered Pokémon, as well as breedable Pokémon without gender, such as the Magnemite line.

I always imagined miltank and mandibuzz were actually able to produce tauros and rufflet, just not in the conditions in-game breeding takes place in, kind of like what Lockstin & Gnoggin figures is the case with nidoqueen. Basically their species could very well have similar sex determination to crocodiles or turtles.
The Aerodactyl form Actually does make sense. I doubt it'd ever be 100% fully restored. Then mega evolution is what makes it fully powered!!

6:20 When revived, it’s stated thousands of times over that it gains the rock type.
Kabutops could of originally been bug/water type and Genesect, before being fused to metal, a Bug/water type.
It says Team Plasma modified the cannon on its back, they didn’t add a cannon to its back. They probably just added the disk drive to change the attack type. No way it was a Kabutops.
If Blastoise can have cannons in its shell, original Genesect can have something similar too.

I see that Vahirom in the thumbnail, honestly it’s the best attempt I’ve seen at making the Original Dragon with so much attention to detail to make it a proper gamefreak creation
If we take Spin-off games into consideration, a form we have seen (and fought), but could never obtain is Primal Dialga in the Mystery Dungeon series. Which is kinda sad, since Primal Groudon and Kyogre are a thing, but Primal Dialga never made it into the main line games. There even were pretty good options to add it with BD/SP or Legends Arceus, but since it didn't appear there, we most certainly will never see it again.
To be fair, it's called "Dark Dialga" in Japanese.

The Aerodactyl entry is pointing out that the rock part is unnatural to the pokemon so the mega having more rock means it definitely isnt the original.
The whole fossil set is rock type as remnants of their time as fossils (ironically excluding the gen 8 monstrosities, so i guess thats the one benefit that doctor has over the other fossil labs)

Celebi can naturally travel through time and space on its own. It doesn't need to be paired with another time traveler (like Spiky Eared Pichu) or hold a specific item that warps time (Cosplay Pikachu and so on).
The Rockstar and Idol pikachu cannot be obtained in Pokemon GO. It was a one time paid event you could get either. But you can still earn a pikachu Libre in the battle league
I was so excited for a Pokemon Gray back in the gen 5 era to see the complete form of Kyurem. The lore was so good. Sadly never happened.

Its artwork in Pokemon HOME only exists because Ultra Necrzma has its own unique Pokedex data. Pokemon HOME pulls Pokedex data from the games that things were transferred from, including Pokedex data from Pokemon Bank, which in turn pulls Pokedex data from the games it has connected with. Alternate forms didn't receive their own pokedex data (seperate entrees) until gen 7, which is why it, as well as all the non-Kanto Megas, also have artwork in HOME despite never being available in any Switch games.

I like to think that all the fossil Pokémon are different from there original forms like would every fossil Pokémon be a rock type if you went back to the ancient times
My theory is that fossil pokémon take the rock attribute, because they are actually resurrected from a fossilized rock. I think it would be really cool to see some fossil pokémon get the paradox treatment for example. Some that originally how they were, and some that were enhanced like with Genesect.
When you showed screenshots of Magikarp Jump, I thought for sure you were going to mention the hybrids that don't exist outside of that game.

Ash-Greninja not comin back hurts the design is so good to! It is basically a Mega Evolution non Mega Mon its form change was so cool to use in battle to. It only bring available in Gen 7 to this day hurts it is sitting in my Pokemon Sun Cartridge to this day after I transferred it a long time ago from Pokemon S/M Special Demo we all know what happened to that demo.
You can re-download your demo or reset its save file to start anew.
I bet the kami stone would've probably just been the main method of obtaining Kyurem before he got shoved to the giant chasm (glad the sequels gave that boi so much love though)

I was really hoping that we'd get a Scarlet paradox form of Magikarp that was going to be an absolute beast. Oddly enough, they brought back the original gen 1 dex entry for gen 9, the one alluding to it once being much stronger than the ones of today.
Pikachu Pop and Rock aren’t available on Pokémon GO battle league, only Libre is.
Pop and Rock were only available for a weekend 2 years ago during an even in GO.
Small little tidbit: Ultra Necrozma was obtainable in the now discontinued Pokemon Duel spinoff

Shoutout to Insurgence’s take on the OG dragon the memeboi NameHere. At least there was an effort to attempt its lore rather than the flavour text in the official games
Mimikyu not having alternate costumes, Eevee, is up there with the big sins of the franchise, on the level of not giving the original Ninetales the Fairy Type and not making the Slowpoke evolutions actually be a fusion of Slowpoke and Shellder.
About Unova's Original Dragon, considering there is zero official depiction in any official media, I have this feeling that, sadly, it was never meant to be seen.
Funnily enough, this was apparently the intent behind Mew, which was meant to be just part of Mewtwo's backstory and was only added to Red and Green because a staff member thought it was funny to sneakily add a 151st Pokémon.
Back to Unova, the unused God Stone makes me think Kyurem's role changed during the development of BW1.
Also, I have a crazy thought about Genesect: What if the whole "prehistoric apex predator" thing was just a hoax made by scientists who can't admit they made a completely artificial Pokémon? Let's be real, if it was a fossil, where is the normally resurrected form?

The Original Dragon I believe will come. Whether from a Black and White remake/sequel or even a Legends game based around it. Having a non-pokémon isn't something they do nowadays, anyways.

All 3 are the Original Dragon. It bugs me that people think the Original Dragon was just Reshiram+Zekrom or that it's Kyurem's true form because it's explicitly stated to be the combination of all 3 Dragons.
This, people not understanding P A R A D O X pokemon, and The Legendary BEASTS (not dogs) are the 3 things that annoy and frustrate me the most about Pokémon Fans
The thing is, you're absolutely correct that all three together form The Original Dragon. But their name definitely wasn't a combination of all three of their names. It had to be one, Kyurem's. Also, The Legendary Beasts are more like the Legendary Cats since Entei is a lion, Raikou a Tiger (Or Smilodon, which was also a cat) and Suicine is a leopard.

Personal theory about genesect, Toedscool is a branched natural evolution of Tentacool, and the same is with Genesect and Kabutops.
Toedscool isn't related to Tentacool in the slightest. They only look alike because they perform the same niche in nature. That's the literal definition to be a Convergent Pokémon.

It was mentioned, until gen 6, all fossil Pokémon was half Rock bc they are fossils. So there is no telling what is their other types, so Kabutops could be Water/Bug type 🤔
The God Stone item sprite is used in Black 2 and White 2 when Ghetsis uses the DNA Splicers on Kyurem so it can absorb N's Reshiram/Zekrom.
What if pokemon introduced "variants". Small cosmetic differences on pokemon to make them more unique sort of like spikey eared pichu. Another one might have rounded ears or squared ears, maybe a tail with an extra bend. That could be cool?
Sounds cool but it'd be unnecessary work for the devs since they've to create similar looking models and keep them alongside the original models. Instead of wasting space with these, they may prioritize something else in the development cycle.
Ash-Greninja and Eternal Flower Floette are the ones that make me cry the most, but I want the Cosplay Pikachu and Spiky-Eared Pichu back, too.

I think if a legend style Unova game or a remake of black/white is ever going to be made, there's a very good chance that we get to see the original dragon, most likely as the "true form" of kyurem, but I can see it being counted as its own Pokémon as well. But 5th generation will benefit more having a sequel/prequel than simply receiving a remake. As the pinnacle of Pokémon storytelling I wonder how will gamefreak handle this.
