And in an eerily fitting coincidence, she passed away on July 7, which is the exact same day that the Tanabata festival begins in Japan

It was not Gamefreak that told Morimoto not to add Mew, it was Nintendo. Everyone at Gamefreak was in on adding Mew secretly, and Sugimori was supposed to make the art for it, but didn't have the time, that's why Morimoto had to do everything himself.

Even untrained, Arceus was banned to Anything Goes in gen 4 (fairly recently), putting it on the level of Mega Ray and Zacian in their respective generations.
ehh it's not really comparable to mega ray and zacian, it was banned more or less because the few of us remaining who actually play gen 4 ubers prefer the metagame without it, since originally on shoddy battle - the battle sim used when gen 4 was the current generation, a shitty java program that we tolerated - couldn't implement EV restrictions, so farceus never got legalized since it wasn't possible to enforce. it was actually legalized not too long ago relatively speaking, but the metagame was just overall less enjoyable so things went back to the old status quo. it's nowhere near as powerful as mega rayquaza or zacian relative to the metagame it was in, it's just the combination of a 15 year old metagame most people will never play again and it producing an undesirable effect on the metagame.
Something I always thought was cool about Victini was that it being connected to the Statue of Liberty may have been forshadowing for XY. Since the statue was given to the US as a gift from France after they helped fight in the Revolutionary War.

Gamefreak has actually been really good about letting us catch mythicals whenever we want, so there's more than 3. There's Keldeo in Sword and Shield, Celebi in virtual console Crystal, Deoxys in ORAS, Jirachi and Mew in BDSP if you have Sword and Shield or Let's Go save data respectively, Manaphy and Phione in Legends Arceus, Darkrai and Shaymin in Legends Arceus if you have BDSP and Sword and Shield save data respectively, and Arceus itself in both Legends Arceus and BDSP if you've caught Arceus in Legends Arceus (take a shot every time I've said legends or Arceus)
Another way Secrets of the Jungle was affected by the pandemic was a shiny Celebi that appears in the movie. In the anime, the first episode without Ash and Pikachu and where Go and him family go to Johto, a shiny Celebi appears at the end very likely meant to help make people aware of the movie but the delay in the movie’s release completely undermines this intention.

The shiny version of Magearna makes me think of the shiny colorations of future Paradox Pokemon. I know it's probably just some laziness that newer metal like pokemon lose color for shiny but still, would be kinda cool if there was some connection between them.
My theory for why all the future Paradox Pokémon are chrome is that they’re the ones who aren’t painted, so the light is easier to reflect, thus making them appear “Shiny”. The reason so many of them aren’t Shiny is because they’re painted in the future before being yoinked to the present day by Terapagos/the Time Machine. The Shiny ones are just the select few who got yoinked before they could be painted.
I kinda wish Diancie was actually the evolution for Carbink, so she'd be available to use in playthroughs. Just lower her base stat total so she isn't too strong to be more of a common Pokémon, and Carbink's as well, to fit more as a pre-evolution.

To this day Zarude is one of the event Pokémon that angers me, not so much for the way it was given away but the fact that both mine and my friend never got ours even after we signed up on the website to get ours. I even reached out for this but got denied even with screen shots.
I had something similar with its dada form. apparently I didn't interact with the card emails enough, so they stopped sending me game code emails. but not the card game emails, still get tons of those to this day. never mind that I'd long lost getting any pokemon emails on my main email

What happens if you have a Link Battle in Gen 3 with Deoxys? Will the opposing team's Deoxy show up as a Normal Deoxys or your respective game's Deoxys form, but have their game's respective form's stats? This is something I've been dying to know since childhood. Somebody please answer me about what happens.
Not sure if it counts as a glitch, but you skip any random trainer battle on the SS Anne and then lose to them after getting cut from the captain without stepping off the boat. This way you blackout and wake up back at the Pokémon center. Then you can go get Surf later and come back to the SS Anne to get to the truck
Mythical Pokemon you can catch: Mew, Celebi, Deoxys, Shaymin, Darkrai, Manaphy, Phione, Arceus, Victini, Keldeo, Meltan. So, yeah... Definitely more than three!
Very easy to skip the SS Ann, just get knocked out in a trainer battle on the ship before you leave the ship, then you can come back and see the truck. I did this as a kid:
For arceus, while you can’t gain evs on level up, you CAN gain them from vitamins still at level 100. Since vitamins max out at 100 evs that means arceus will end up with 100 evs across 5 stats. Also in gen4 this vaguely nerfed arceus was still banned because it was absolutely insane and better than everything else around it.
Back in the original Pokemon Series we never know what the happened to the GS Ball after Ash hand it over to Kurt in the next episode before Ash head off to Azalea Gym. Plus we never learn what GS stands either until a few years ago I did found an information ( now that internet are invented) that the GS Ball was originally going to contain a Celebi that was to be the star of a large arc of the Johto saga but never happen in the first place because they (Japanese writers) decided that Celebi would be the star of the fourth movie instead. Leaving the GS Ball as a mystery in the Pokemon Anime Series as it's never mention ever again which I found it annoying and wasted of the Pokemon Anime Series through the Orange Island Arc and halfway in the Johto Arc😒.
1:31 there is actually a way to do the ss Anne story and be able to return after getting surf. If ya get defeated by a trainer after getting cut ya get send back to the pokecenter yet the ship remains in the harbor till ya reenter the ship and leave

For some reason, this tiny little Pokemon has references to Fist of the North Star, a notoriously violent Japanese manga that Pokemon's target audience should not be familiar with. Marshadow seems to be based on Kenshiro, the protagonist. Marshadow's Z-move involves him defeating the opponent by hitting pressure points then waiting for a delayed reaction. The stars that appear onscreen look like Kenshiro's iconic scar. In the tcg, marshadow's GX cards both have an attack called "Hundred Blows" with artwork of Marshadow performing a punch that looks like Kenshiro's "Hundred blows rushing fist" Marshadow's ability to copy moves is a reference to Kenshiro's ace move, the muso tensei
My copy of red was really funky as I actually encountered Mew in Rock Tunnel and killed it with a level 21 Diglett using scratch. Also ground type moves hit flying pokemon so I loved my Dugtrio back in the day.
You can 100% legitimately see the truck. Don't fight the trainers on the boat before going to the captain. Get cut, then go and lose to any trainer. You get transported back to the Pokémon Center WITH Cut, but skip the event where the ship sails away when you leave. Come back later with surf, and before getting on the ship, surf around
So actually arceus could get Evs in gen 4 at level 100 using the vitamins, but could only max out one stat at 100 since that’s how vitamins worked pre gen 7 (6? 8? Idk)
1. You don't need to cheat or glitch in order to access the Surf truck in RBY. If you trade over a Pokemon with Cut, you don't need to visit the SS Anne. 2. In Gen 4 EVs are only earned if the Pokemon can gain experience, so Level 100 Pokemon cannot earn EVs FROM BATTLES. But they can still gain up to 100 EVs in each stat in increments of 10 from Vitamins. A Level 100 Arceus event is therefore not limited to 0 EVs.
Victini is my favorite mythical by far. And when people shared how to unlock its old liberty pass event on original hardware?? I could have cried. I changed the date on my 3DS to match its event, so it’s indistinguishable from a real one, and I must have gotten 162 of them 😅 still only used it once on a playthrough, but I will be doing it again!
It’s easy to skip SS Anne without cheating. Once you get Cut, have one of the trainers on the ship beat you in battle. When you white out you’ll go back to the Pokémon Centre. If you go back 8th the SS Anne the ship is gone but you can wander around, including with Surf if you wait until you have it and then access the truck.
EV weren't awarded when you leveled up, they were calculated when you leveled up (or when withdrawn from a PC). EV were awarded alongside XP, and since Lv 100 Pokémon could not earn XP, they could not earn EV either
Two easy ways to skip the SS Anne without cheating or a glitch (without stretching definitions): Trade a Pokemon with Cut from another game (friend, sibling, personal collection). Skip the SS Anne entirely and, even when you go back, it will not leave until you defeat your rival and talk to the captain to get the HM. Faint. Beat your rival, get Cut... Then walk up to a random trainer and lose. You go back to the Pokemon Center, skipping the trigger for the SS Anne to leave. You only get one visit though, the next time you enter the area, it will trigger the cutscene and the SS Anne will leave. You have that one visit to explore the area, but can't return again.
For me Arceus being a mythical is a crime, the literal God of the Pokémon world, THE single one most important Pokémon to the lore to not have the status of a legend
I mean you can get Cut from the captain and then wipe to a Trainer inside the SS Anne to be sent back to the Pokémon Centre, so the scene of the boat leaving hasn't triggered as you never "left"
Back in like 2014 my friend told me that if you make carbink hold a diancite and level it up, it would evolve into diancie. I never thought to check the truthfulness of it until recently and im dissapointed its not true

? You can do the entire ss Ann quest. In fact I'm pretty sure it's needed to progress. All you had to do was escape rope after beating it. Or have your pokemon faint to 1 trainer you leave unbeaten for that purpose.

Magearna is actually Iron Princess, a Paradox form of Diancie, who is an evolution of Carbink, who is itself a legendary baby ala Cosmog. I wish they kept the Celibi plan in the anime. I didn’t even like that movie Celibi was the star of. I would have much rather gotten the little arc they had planned for the anime.
The reason a level 100 Pokémon can't gain EVs isn't because it can't level up, it's because it can't gain EXP. EVs are awarded alongside EXP, so no EXP means no EVs. A Pokémon can actually get the stat boosts from new EVs without leveling up - placing it in a box and taking it back out will cause stats to be recalculated.

Not sure if it counts as a glitch, but you skip any random trainer battle on the SS Anne and then lose to them after getting cut from the captain without stepping off the boat. This way you blackout and wake up back at the Pokémon center. Then you can go get Surf later and come back to the SS Anne to get to the truck

For arceus, while you can’t gain evs on level up, you CAN gain them from vitamins still at level 100. Since vitamins max out at 100 evs that means arceus will end up with 100 evs across 5 stats.
Also in gen4 this vaguely nerfed arceus was still banned because it was absolutely insane and better than everything else around it.
Back in the original Pokemon Series we never know what the happened to the GS Ball after Ash hand it over to Kurt in the next episode before Ash head off to Azalea Gym. Plus we never learn what GS stands either until a few years ago I did found an information ( now that internet are invented) that the GS Ball was originally going to contain a Celebi that was to be the star of a large arc of the Johto saga but never happen in the first place because they (Japanese writers) decided that Celebi would be the star of the fourth movie instead.
Leaving the GS Ball as a mystery in the Pokemon Anime Series as it's never mention ever again which I found it annoying and wasted of the Pokemon Anime Series through the Orange Island Arc and halfway in the Johto Arc😒.
For now Terapagos is a mythical pokemon that has only showed up in anime so far.

You can get to the truck in a legitimate way. you leave some trainers and simply faint in the ship after acquiring cut and when you later come back with surf, its still there.
thats what i did as a 6 years old, you can probably do it as well.

Marshadow has another cool fact. For some reason, this tiny little Pokemon has references to Fist of the North Star, a notoriously violent Japanese manga that Pokemon's target audience should not be familiar with. Marshadow seems to be based on Kenshiro, the protagonist.
Marshadow's Z-move involves him defeating the opponent by hitting pressure points then waiting for a delayed reaction. The stars that appear onscreen look like Kenshiro's iconic scar.
In the tcg, marshadow's GX cards both have an attack called "Hundred Blows" with artwork of Marshadow performing a punch that looks like Kenshiro's "Hundred blows rushing fist"

So actually arceus could get Evs in gen 4 at level 100 using the vitamins, but could only max out one stat at 100 since that’s how vitamins worked pre gen 7 (6? 8? Idk)
Yes. And gaining EVs from battled Pokémon was tied to gaining EXP, which is not possible at level 100.

1. You don't need to cheat or glitch in order to access the Surf truck in RBY. If you trade over a Pokemon with Cut, you don't need to visit the SS Anne.
2. In Gen 4 EVs are only earned if the Pokemon can gain experience, so Level 100 Pokemon cannot earn EVs FROM BATTLES. But they can still gain up to 100 EVs in each stat in increments of 10 from Vitamins. A Level 100 Arceus event is therefore not limited to 0 EVs.
Victini is my favorite mythical by far. And when people shared how to unlock its old liberty pass event on original hardware?? I could have cried. I changed the date on my 3DS to match its event, so it’s indistinguishable from a real one, and I must have gotten 162 of them 😅 still only used it once on a playthrough, but I will be doing it again!

It’s easy to skip SS Anne without cheating. Once you get Cut, have one of the trainers on the ship beat you in battle. When you white out you’ll go back to the Pokémon Centre. If you go back 8th the SS Anne the ship is gone but you can wander around, including with Surf if you wait until you have it and then access the truck.
P2 in Spanish (and probably Italian) it's read as "Pe Dos", which means farts if written without the space 😂

EV weren't awarded when you leveled up, they were calculated when you leveled up (or when withdrawn from a PC). EV were awarded alongside XP, and since Lv 100 Pokémon could not earn XP, they could not earn EV either

Two easy ways to skip the SS Anne without cheating or a glitch (without stretching definitions):
Trade a Pokemon with Cut from another game (friend, sibling, personal collection). Skip the SS Anne entirely and, even when you go back, it will not leave until you defeat your rival and talk to the captain to get the HM.
Faint. Beat your rival, get Cut... Then walk up to a random trainer and lose. You go back to the Pokemon Center, skipping the trigger for the SS Anne to leave. You only get one visit though, the next time you enter the area, it will trigger the cutscene and the SS Anne will leave. You have that one visit to explore the area, but can't return again.
For me Arceus being a mythical is a crime, the literal God of the Pokémon world, THE single one most important Pokémon to the lore to not have the status of a legend

I mean you can get Cut from the captain and then wipe to a Trainer inside the SS Anne to be sent back to the Pokémon Centre, so the scene of the boat leaving hasn't triggered as you never "left"

On the Celebi fact, it will have five 31 IV only once transfered to Bank, so it can still be shiny hunted in game.

The reason a level 100 Pokémon can't gain EVs isn't because it can't level up, it's because it can't gain EXP. EVs are awarded alongside EXP, so no EXP means no EVs. A Pokémon can actually get the stat boosts from new EVs without leveling up - placing it in a box and taking it back out will cause stats to be recalculated.
