I'm really enjoying the 30+ minute videos you've been doing recently! The worst part about a Night Shift video is when it ends, so I'm glad that I can watch for longer before that happens. Great video as always!
"a suit like this can be efficiently finished in 3 days"... meanwhile I'm 6 months into my MK44 build 🤣. Awesome as usual Martin. Absolutely love this man. Guarantee we will start seeing more seems on the under-suit of Ma.K kits.
It's a lot of fun and goes together pretty well. Some of the interior parts on the inside of the 'cockpit' gave me a little trouble but pretty sure that was on me. I think you would love it. Give it that WW2 Soviet super heavy cast look.
Hi Martin, GREAT video and finish. Congratulations on your first Maschinen Krieger model and thank you very much for the kind mentions. Sincerely appreciated!!
adding mud on one side from where the suit may of come in contact with the wall(s) might have been a nice touch. Very nice work overall. You never disappoint.
Gotta say I would love to see you tackle a WH40K Imperial Guard tank, I bet it would look fantastic with all the techniques you use to make these scale models look realistic.
I'd love to see him tackle a 40k model. Seeing a guard tank being given the full weathering and modeling treatment would be amazing. Or seeing how he makes a Space Marine tank a bit more grounded would also be really cool to see.
Hi Martin, small chance you will ever see this but I hope you do. It was you who got me into modeling in late 2022. 6 months, a Panzer IV, Pz. 38(t), Churchill 7, and Panther later, I’m loving it. Thank you so much.
This is mind-blowing! The discipline and patience that you dedicated to the details really paid off. I hope this project opens the idea of you doing more mechs in this style in the future.
First time to see your video. I can't believe the detail and results of your work. The sandbags, the paint, the groundwork. Amazing. Definitely subscribing.
I love seeing these historical modelling techniques used on SciFi models. I'd be fascinated to see how you would paint something like an Imperial Knight from 40k.
I seldomly watch an entire video these days. But, on your channel I always find myself enjoying the whole process. I love seeing your "traditional" historcial style being used on sci-fi models. I loved this and your 40k one. The 40k community could learn a lot from you.
Great finish my friend! And no worries on the "fuel cap" 😂 maybe they welded a fuel rod in there and called it a day. Less wasted time in the maintenance yard- more time shooting panzerfäusts that appear like farts on the battlefield. I am glad you leaned into this project and had fun with it, it looks absolutely epic in your style and you made the kitbash decals seamlessly integrated into the vehicle. I believe most of these original kits from the early days took decals from scale aircraft kits, so no doubt the lore accurate essence of Ma.K lives on. See you in the next one
Hi Martin, I am a firefighter here in new Zealand who has been fighting cancer for the past seven years or so. I am also a railway modeller, but was drawn to your site by the title, after all most of us firefighters have done a night shift or two during our careers. Anyway I have watched all your videos during my treatment and recovery. I am in remission now, but I have to say that this video and the one of the VW car covered in moss are simply brilliant and will be an inspiration to me now I'm resuming my modelling journey. Thank you for your inspiration, your adventures and thoughts. Regards Russell. Wellington New Zealand
Great video Martin. I'd never considered it before, but yes, MaK looks really good in a WWI setting and colour scheme. Take care and enjoy the spring weather!
Holy cow this is so good. I am loving the juxtaposition of your ww1 stuff mixed with futuristic mechs. It’s a combination of two of my favorite areas of modeling. I was just so pleased to see this video. Love your stuff
I've only ever painted fantasy models and watching videos of others doing the same. Your work is on a totally different level! Definitely an entertaining and informative watch my friend
"All good things come to those that wait" and my friend you are always worth waiting for. How you can make such an unbelievable scene so beautifully believable is awesome! Stay true to your passion and don’t ever let time restraints destroy the beauty you deliver each and ever time. I would rather wait 6 months to be able to share in you’re journey of building models than expect them every week or two. Live the passion.
Holy CoW! You REALLY covered all the bases in this one. I have a formal academic background in fine art, drawing & painting. Watching fundamental painting principals being applied with out of the 'blue-box' simple recycled materials truly inspirational. The possibilities are huge! Thank you for sharing your inspirational travels in this amazing adventure in modelling and for helping to make our own journeys more fun. Peace, love & good health to you!
Have you ever considered including battle damage? Stuff like bullet impacts or scratches? Things that cut a little deeper than the weathered look. Great vid as always!
Just found your channel and being a modeler/wargamer for 40+ years, your teaching me some great new tips, so thanks for that. Love the Mac stuff and keep, keeping it WEIRD!
Youre my favorite modeller youtuber and each project you show us are always stunning in how meticulous you are with the details and end result, carry on muh friend
The scratch flex cable, the sculpted sandbags, artistry above and beyond. Reminded me of bomb disposal suits, could see life imitating art at some point once battery technology improves.
This was an absolute pleasure to watch. Your attention to details, lighting, and colors is always a joy to see. Blending these two concepts together into a cohesive diorama worked really well. I'm a huge fan of alternate war histories and this works so well together!
I had the video paused at 28:38 because my break at work was done and coming back to it now I had to remind myself that it was a model and not real ground. Love your work buddy, keep it up!
If you're not the best in the business, I don't know who is. This is what modelling is all about...just having fun, creating, using your imagination and coming with something you can be proud of. I found this vignette to be whimsical...very enjoyable.
Martin.. i dont care what you do.. your work is inspiring for me. Your models are so incredible.. i have watched almost every video you have made.. and i always enjoy listening to your own spin on things.. you have taught meany many techniques and tricks.. DONT STOP MODELING.. !!
Wie immer eine fantastische modellbauerrische Arbeit. Viele Grusse aus der Schweiz. Andreas As always, a fantastic model-making work. Many greetings from Switzerland. Andreas
I always say Martin does the best videos and I look forward to watching him work. The great thing is that he always inspires me to try A new technique and have fun doing it. Thank "My Friend"
Thats a looong video my dude!!! Hope you feel better with that schedule. For me it does not matter when/how often, will watch anyway. Most important thing is enjoying what you do everyday. Take care and thanks for your insights
this is a beautiful build and as a welder, i just about cried when you added those gorgeous welds on the outsides. between the metal texture, the welds, and the bolts it made this thing feel genuine and real. i love the little hoses too! this is amazing!
I've learned almost everything I know about painting from your channel, except I've been applying it to fantasy mech suits and Gundams rather than tanks and planes. I've come to a point where I'm able to somewhat reproduce the metal and wood weathering effects showcased in these videos, but watching you tackle this side of the hobby still leaves me in awe.
Great video thank you as always, this work had a similar feel to 'Alex' at 53 Miniatures most recent video, 'Scale modelling WITH GOBLINS' combining a 1:48th Nashorn scale model tank from Tamiya and goblins. Combining the different areas of the hobby is so important. The similarities are far more pronounced than the differences. Your videos are a great inspiration for me regarding different areas of the Modelling hobby.
I can’t express how much I love this. I love this idea. I love blending tech with WWI. I love that suit and, we’re one step closer to an eventual uncle Night Shift’s Gundam, which will be quite the beauty to behold.
When you mentioned at the end of your previous video something new was coming, I had a slight hunge it would by MaKa. When I noticed the thumbnail of the video this morning I was STOKED!!!! MaKa is so versatile in the styling you can apply. I was hooked when I first saw these sets.
I'm super into this, I actually got into Maschinen Krieger recently and finished my first model earlier this year(SAFS TYPE R RACCOON) I love seeing the little things you did to improve the model, adding your own joint covers out of putty is something I never thought of and the copper hoses look great as well. I really wanna try doing those things on my next model.
Thanks so much for the running commentary, explaining in detail what you did, as well as explaining (sometimes) what you didn't do and why.. It's a fantastic piece of art, from a ultra-skilled craftsman (you). Thanks for sharing.
It's awesome to see you to being able to take your time and just enjoy a good project, you've been a huge inspiration for me! This whole diorama has a very Iron Harvest esque feel, which if you haven't heard of (I'm sure you have) then you might be interested in a diorama of something like that, maybe a PZM-7. I used to make a couple terrain Mordheim set pieces, but your channel has inspired me to steer a little more towards dioramas, especially ww1 stuff. Keep it up, your work is awesome!
It's good to have you back. Whilst you've been away, it gave me plenty of time to work through your back catalogue. That's not a bad thing. I've been looking at the Trumpeter BR52 Locomotive with a flat bed wagon for a tank. It's on my wishlist along with the Dragon Wagon and an armoured vehicle of some kind. The mech made for a pleasant change. It's not what I was expecting but it turned out great. Take care until next time.
Hey man, life gets in the way. We get it. With that said, I love this diorama. These videos make me want to get into the hobby, but you know, life keeps getting in the way.
Im loving the longer well edited content and the face to face intros. I hope your doing well and doing the models you really want to do.
Wow, I'm glad to see new things on this channel, it would be great to see more like this.
Agreed. There are more than enough tank/armor only modelers on TH-cam, it’s nice to see modelers using kits like these.
We need more Maschinen Krieger, Uncle Nightshift! Those kits NEVER get enough attention!
i would love to see him do an imperial knight from warhammer
I'm really enjoying the 30+ minute videos you've been doing recently! The worst part about a Night Shift video is when it ends, so I'm glad that I can watch for longer before that happens. Great video as always!
From the thumbnail I thought this was Boylei Hobby Time. It's awesome to see something more in the historical fantasy genre from you.
"a suit like this can be efficiently finished in 3 days"... meanwhile I'm 6 months into my MK44 build 🤣. Awesome as usual Martin. Absolutely love this man. Guarantee we will start seeing more seems on the under-suit of Ma.K kits.
How's the Mk 44? That's the one I wanted to build initially!
It's a lot of fun and goes together pretty well. Some of the interior parts on the inside of the 'cockpit' gave me a little trouble but pretty sure that was on me. I think you would love it. Give it that WW2 Soviet super heavy cast look.
@@NightShiftScaleModels id love to see something painted in another light level or even at night instead of in daylight
Hi Martin, GREAT video and finish. Congratulations on your first Maschinen Krieger model and thank you very much for the kind mentions. Sincerely appreciated!!
🤔 This is one of the only YT Channels I actually watch at *Normal Playback Speed.*
This was an excellent episode! Love the concept.
Wow! I never though to see you here @Boylei Hobby Time lol, btw loved your most recent vid 😎👌
We found em boys
adding mud on one side from where the suit may of come in contact with the wall(s) might have been a nice touch. Very nice work overall. You never disappoint.
The Return of the King!
Gotta say I would love to see you tackle a WH40K Imperial Guard tank, I bet it would look fantastic with all the techniques you use to make these scale models look realistic.
Rule of cool should win out everytime when modeling for fun! Glad to see you enjoying yourself with projects like these!
This was so awesome, I really hope you branch out into more sci-fi or fantasy stuff on occasion more in the future.
That is glorious! I'm a huge Ma.K fan and I've used your armor techniques on my figures and it's a joy to see you paint one of these awesome models!
Loved it. I like the format of the entire build and finish process in one video. It was worth the wait!
This model made a nice change of subject. And the ww1 setting actually fits super well.
I've missed you, uncle nightshift. But , oh boy, it was well worth waiting for! It was really nice to watch you step out of your comfort zone.
Hell yeah! Been waiting to see you build some Ma.k.!!!
absolutely loving the blend of realistic and weird-sci fi! Please do more of that stuff
loving the longer videos! getting closer and closer to a warhammer 40k model ;)
My thoughts exactly. Someone needs to send Martin a Baneblade!
I'd love to see him tackle a 40k model. Seeing a guard tank being given the full weathering and modeling treatment would be amazing. Or seeing how he makes a Space Marine tank a bit more grounded would also be really cool to see.
One of my favorites ever! Love all kinds of alternate history/fictional history. Very inspiring!
I love seeing you tackle these non-traditional projects!
I love these scifi, yet historical diorama's! Great job
Dieselpunk
Hi Martin, small chance you will ever see this but I hope you do. It was you who got me into modeling in late 2022. 6 months, a Panzer IV, Pz. 38(t), Churchill 7, and Panther later, I’m loving it. Thank you so much.
finally a really good acrylic painting tutorial on Ma. K, and not friggin lacquer paint! great video!
Is this for real? Or a scam?
like how you combine WW1 battlefield scenes with combat robots.
These are honestly the best modeling videos on TH-cam
I love seeing these historical modelling techniques used on SciFi models. I'd be fascinated to see how you would paint something like an Imperial Knight from 40k.

I've been waiting on a Ma.K kit on your channel and you knocked it out of the park. Amazing build and fits the theme beautifully. Thanks for the video
Great finish my friend! And no worries on the "fuel cap" 😂 maybe they welded a fuel rod in there and called it a day. Less wasted time in the maintenance yard- more time shooting panzerfäusts that appear like farts on the battlefield. This is awesome! Please do more Ma.K, it's such a cool subject and you've absolutely nailed it.
Love the MaK world. Outstanding weathering as always...

This was interesting custom project to watch. First time encountering this type of diesel punk series as well. 🤔
Even your beautiful house has incredible intentional weathering!! Love it Unc!!
Each video we getting closer and closer to WH40k dioramas and I'm waiting patiently...
Great video Martin. I'd never considered it before, but yes, MaK looks really good in a WWI setting and colour scheme. Take care and enjoy the spring weather!
I love trenches and sci-fi, so this was one of my favorites. Thank you!
I find these small dioramas really fascinating. They force you to focus on a very small space and you get inside it. Simply brutal Martin!!!
Это что ли альтернативная ПМВ
Holy cow this is so good. I am loving the juxtaposition of your ww1 stuff mixed with futuristic mechs. It’s a combination of two of my favorite areas of modeling. I was just so pleased to see this video. Love your stuff

Love this long videos, no cliff hangers. Vingette looks awesome!!! Next Warhammer 40k.
Somehow, the 45 minutes flew away in one breath...
Good video, again

I wouldn't mind seeing another one of these but on the allies side amazing work man
Simply put, I like it! Your diorama skills are also amazing!
This was definetly worth the wait! I love what you are doing with the new format.
I really appreciate how realistic, vivid and ultra focus the video looks, heck it looks more color correct than real life.
Just found your channel and being a modeler/wargamer for 40+ years, your teaching me some great new tips, so thanks for that. Love the Mac stuff and keep, keeping it WEIRD!

honestly man at first when the weekly uploads stopped I was disappointed but this was really worth the wait, cant wait for the next one.
The scratch flex cable, the sculpted sandbags, artistry above and beyond.
Reminded me of bomb disposal suits, could see life imitating art at some point once battery technology improves.
That was great on many levels - the trench work alone made it worth the watch. Thank you!

Wie immer eine fantastische modellbauerrische Arbeit. Viele Grusse aus der Schweiz. Andreas
As always, a fantastic model-making work. Many greetings from Switzerland. Andreas
I'm glad to finally see you tackle a Maschinen Krieger kit! I'll look you up on Instagram and we can compare builds.
My Friend!
This Model/Diorama looks sooo freakin' sick!
Please do more of the Maschinen Krieger Models!!!
INSANE WORK!
I always say Martin does the best videos and I look forward to watching him work. The great thing is that he always inspires me to try A new technique and have fun doing it. Thank "My Friend"

I love MaK and this was a great project! One of the nice things about this universe is that it's more open for your own creativity than other canons.
Omg I'd look for those very beautiful models before I'm so glad you did one of these.
Those hand sculpted rubber joints are just top notch job, much more realistic and "used" look.
Ha, I love some Maschinen Krieger stuff, so seeing your take on it makes it even better. I love it!
Right up my alley since I love both WW1 and MK. Great job, Glad I came across this.
The way the telegraph wires leave the edge of the scene was such an awesome token of this whole model. Again top notch work muh friend
As a fan of Steam Punk and related genres, I love it. It is inspiring me to pick this hobby back up. Thank you!
Thanks so much for the running commentary, explaining in detail what you did, as well as explaining (sometimes) what you didn't do and why..
It's a fantastic piece of art, from a ultra-skilled craftsman (you).

Like a shot of morphine….your videos chill me out, first voice I hear in the week that isn’t stressed or that doesn’t want anything. Thank you!

Incredible job as always, I love alternate history designs like this :)
your ground work just blows me away every time.
Wow! I love the design of the mech. Absolutely stunning.
As always, great build , great paint .
You inspire me to make more different builds .
From start to finish.
AWESOMENESSSSSSS !!

As others have said, the new format works with the longer in person intros, while not my thing I really enjoyed this.cheers👍
I learn so much from your videos that I take into tabletop miniatures and just my bases alone are way better and my aspirations are ever-growing.
Hey man, life gets in the way. We get it. With that said, I love this diorama. These videos make me want to get into the hobby, but you know, life keeps getting in the way.
I love this new format! Feels more personal and very authentic!
I hadn't heard of Maschinen Krieger until this video. I urge you to create more of these, such a cool universe.
Love seeing u do sci-fi! Especially the gritty realistic kind😌.. might be a good avenue for you to explore!
For me, it's always worth the wait for your next project. Except when you build the small scale stuff.
Enjoyed this outing with Uncle Night Shift.
