I see you struggling to make sense of what's happening in the comments section of your great gaming channel. You did a great job with your post last week. Certainly, you have nothing to apologize for. Unfortunately, there's a cult following of far Left totalitarian socialist ideologues who demand that everything be politicized and that everyone parrots their monolithic demi-thought. No thinking person can escape their ire. So when you took the most sensible, apolitical, moral (not moralizing) viewpoint and said, "Can't we all get along," you inevitably became the target of more of their ire. This is how the cult works. They mercilessly peen everyone who disagees with them. Yes, even and especially people who are not even engaging in political discourse. That's by design, and it's an intimidation tactic designed to force compliance not just of their direct political opponents but of those who don't wish to engage in politics at all. This is what happened in China during the Cultural Revolution and is inspired by the same ideological dead end when it is happening here. My unsolicited advice is to ignore them and continue making great gaming content for your viewers. Indeed, they are a noisy lot, and eventually, the steam will run out of their assault if they do not gain either your compliance or an easy opponent to joust with. Thank you for your time and consideration. God bless and guide you.
Meh, not ya fault like everyone else saying. Heck with all the crybabies who found your video "offensive" and against their "Basic human rights" BS. I mean honestly very annoying
Hey Luke, please dont apologize for sharing your viewpoint. It is a good way to create an echo chamber for yourself and the people agreeing with you in the chat. As you would notice, the others have already left.
Luke, I hope this video brings clarification and understanding to the viewers who didn't get the message that you conveyed in your original video and the follow-up message you put out earlier this week. I felt it was all clearly conveyed in both of your previous efforts, but in any case, I appreciate the content you put out and keep up the great work. I can't wait for Dungeon Drifters!

That is a textbook example of what you should NOT do if you are a minority/target. A lot of those extremists get closer to learn about your habits/schedule and plan something. Hi Luke, I saw that post on Twitter and posting something very similar. Your video last week was good and well said, on all sides there are people who look for things to be offended by. And sadly that has become part of the culture. TTRPGs SHOULD be a place for everyone to come together without Politics or Religion from the real world causing division. Everyone is welcome at my table as long as they keep those things away from the table. Now, Roll Initiative.
It’s ok to apologize for misunderstandings. It’s more likely to help build bridges between people than asserting the other person is wholly at fault for not understanding.
And this, THIS is how clarification videos should be done. Thank you for this. The previous video had left me uneasy, but this clarification as well as choosing to leave the video up have eased that tension.
Agreed on the point here, and the points were made in the previous video as well. As you said the framing of the original video was very politically charged, mostly because the problems with the original twitter post was very politically charged creating a context that you didn't really mean. Your opinion was sparked by the post but ultimately had nothing to do with the situation surrounding the original Twitter post.
It was 100% clear the first time. I’m not mad at you for clarifying, you do whatever you feel is best, but you did nothing wrong and I just hope you know that.
You don't need to apologize. The message was clear and a very positive message. If someone took that negatively it's probably because they have a personal problem you aren't responsible for
Agreed. It was very clear what he was saying and he wasn't picking a political side. just saying to be kind to one another and don't bring personal politics into a game session
The fact that people are (still) freaking out about this is ridiculous. It's also part of why I'm not playing in any groups at the moment, I just don't want to deal with it.
You did nothing wrong. Many ttrpgs content creators have been talking about inclusivity at the table for years. It is a wonderful thing to aim for at all tables.
Honestly this video wasn't needed, your comments were perfectly clear as someone who wants to see everyone included at the gaming table despite what differences they might have. For those who wish to continue to exclude people, consider looking up the story of Daryl Davis and his work to convince KKK members to leave that hateful group. He's what you should strive for, someone who is open and treats people with respect and give them the room to change their minds on what they think instead of forcing it upon them.
You're fine brother. You straight up said that if "you treat others with kindness and respect...you're welcome at my table... Follow that rule and you're good to go." Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Because of some triggers - the thumbnail, the name "Vance", the word "Christian", etc. - some folks were angry no matter what you said. All they can hear is their own blood boiling. Your graciousness about it does you credit. I'm not Christian anymore, but I respect those who actually walk the walk. Good on ya.
You were fair and looking for true answers about a sensitive subject. Those who did not understand may not be able to for some internal reasoning. No need to apologize
You didn't do anything wrong. You are trying to now explain your actions to people who try to disguise their hate for other people and try to bring other people down. All we can do is try to keep acting and speaking reasonably, like you did here, and maybe they'll come around. Their expressions of hate and their false fears of feeling in danger for having certain people around is an agenda and their opinions have no value.
This put into words what I failed to convey in my agreement in the community post, and goes further. The game table should always be a welcoming place.
You did nothing wrong Luke. You were not telling people who to play with or showing support for any specific people. My takeaway was you were saying gatekeeping a game itself from people isn't a good mindset and ideally all different kinds of people with different beliefs can still come together to enjoy a game together and maybe even bridge divides. At the same time, anyone can decide who they would and wouldn't want to play with. Anyone who took it the wrong way is too caught up in their own drama.
Dude, you didn't do anything wrong and I don't think you broke your rule at all. Some people will find anything to be angry about, even if there is nothing there. Keep doing what you truly believe is right and don't ever waiver.
I appreciate the clarification. I never actually doubted that you were a good person through-and-through. It sounds like this was a good opportunity to hear from some your viewers' comments on this and you really gave them more gracious treatment than you'd normally get from a TH-camr reacting to criticism. Thank you.
Look here's the thing. Just let it go! Your never going to make yourself clear enough for those that got pissed off and your wasting time and energy on those that might not even be watching the clarification anyway. Stop aplogizing and clarifing and just go on with the videos.
Luke I feel like the point of last weeks video was clear. That we can all come to the table top and lay down who we support in the political world to have a great time. TTRPG's should be about fun and the cheesier the better. The game should allow us to step away from the pressure of the world and have a good time toppling a tyranny of dragons in a fantasy world.
I didn’t see anything wrong with your last post/vid. No system should alienate anyone from enjoying the game’s intended content. So while your post was towards a political person, the total fault lies on the company that made the post/or person within the company with a ranking position to quasi speak for the company. The only place I feel people have the right to be choosy on who plays is at the table with the Dm/gm.
I don’t think you needed to do a clarification video, but I will reiterate you did nothing wrong. Society is generally politically sensitive. Anyone who watches you would know that you put the fun for the game first in this channel; that typically means hanging with people who may not necessarily agree with each other outside the table, but can escape in a fantasy adventure from the woes of the real world. I respect your decision to keep the video up, and look forward to your future uploads!
It’s ok to apologize for misunderstandings. It’s more likely to help build bridges between people than asserting the other person is wholly at fault for not understanding.
People get too defensive about too many different things. Don't worry about how others react to your random statements. It's a big sandbox, and we all need to learn how to play together in it.
If you read the comments on the last one I hope you read the comments here too because I see nothing but love for you and for any gamer that can show kindness at the table.
Your message in the original video was very clear. There are just people who would rather be uncharitable. It's not a coincidence that those same people are the kind that wish to build themselves an echo chamber and shut down beliefs they don't agree with
Sucks that videos like this are necessary because of people who want to find fault with everything. Your first one was clear and balanced, and I couldn't have agreed more. Keep up your great work!
You don’t need to apologize, Luke. I know your original video was not political in any way nor was it ever intended to be. You were not telling us to force ourselves to sit down and play with people who make us feel threatened or uncomfortable at all. We do need more diversity, equality, and inclusivity in TTRPGs, I agree 💯 and we can accomplish that by not letting religious beliefs, political views, s*xual preferences, gender identities, etc. be deciding factors for whether or not a person can play in our games.
Don't apologize to a mob. You did nothing wrong and simply stated your opinion and gave your reasoning as as to why you felt that way. Even though I dont agree with all my friends on everything, we still come together to enjoy a fantasy role-playing game, and leave our politics at home, when we can actaully schedule it, that is.
It’s ok to apologize for misunderstandings. It’s more likely to help build bridges between people than asserting the other person is wholly at fault for not understanding.
But Luke... You absolutely did not do anything wrong there's too many complainers they are basically trolling the situation. You didn't pick any side and kept it clean I watched your video and you were spot on with everything just know you have support
You did nothing wrong man that post was needed.... You are just getting hate from people that don't want to be inclusive. And you should invite anyone to your games then say so and so can't play because of their politics... That's a sad way to live
I appreciate the clarification. Diversity is an important part of this game and I believe people from across the political spectrum should be able to come together and play. However, people who put themselves on a platform of hate hurt that inclusivity. Whether or not you believe that the person mentioned in the original tweet has done that, it’s clear that poster believed it, and was trying to protect the inclusivity the company had built itself around.
You were spot on in the last message. If we really want to advocate for Diversity, Equality, and inclusion, that needs to include being ok with people we disagree with being allowed to play games. They may not be suitable for our tables, but they should be allowed to play the game. The issue is there are a number of people out there who would rather argue to Divide the community down politcial lines, Exclude anyone who doesn't agree with them, and thus are advocating for Inequality in the games sphere. We should always be willing to advocate that all people should be allowed to play the games we love, and that we should make all good effort even to include them in our games if possible. Anyone who thinks your original video was wrong is kidding themselves if they think they are Diversity, Equality, and Inclusivity advocates.
I think you are beating yourself unnecessarily on this one. There will be differing opinions on this topic, but i didn't see yours as political or problematic. Isn't part of the message "we can agree to disagree "?
The problem and confusion comes from using a political figure as the example for the message. The problem is, people very well can draw lines in the sand, and that is totally fine. It really is the tolerance paradox - is it okay to be intolerant to intolerant people. Are you a tolerant and inclusive person if you show intolerance and exclude a type/group or individual? I have an answer for myself and I'm okay with it. There is no right answer, only feeling right with your answer.
I think you're right, the message of the video was good an pretty non-controversial but the fact that Vance got mentioned takes it out of the theoretical realm and pulls it into a more specific situation in the real world. It happens all the time with any factional groups, certain phrases and terms can have so much baggage that they can ruin the conveyance of the ultimate message.
I think you have nothing to apologize for. I found your original video clear and concise without being insulting at all. If other people had problems with comprehending your point, that's on them. As that great philosopher T Swift sang, "Shake it off".
i had an evangelical christian player at my table with several LGBTQ players once. Peaceful is not how i'd describe it so the sentiment of the original post is once I can certainly get behind.
It's so weird that you felt that you had to apologize a couple of times for your editorial. Your message still stands I don't see why people would freak out over it? Yes that's what these games do is bring people you wouldn't normally talk to and play a game. Whatever happens outside of that game that is up to you to decide how you are going to deal with it. At least there was an opportunity to put all of that aside and again, play a game.
You did nothing wrong. People being outraged and failing to see the actual meaning of your post has more to do with their problems than any real problem with your message.
Just my opinion - you did nothing wrong and you shouldn’t feel like you need to bend the knee to toxic people. Also my opinion you’re often better for those folks leaving your orbit so if people sub’s to you can’t understand and respect the message then they’re probably people you wouldn’t want to surround yourself with anyway. You seem like an honest and forthright person and even if I may not agree with everything you post I respect you for sharing your knowledge and opinions with us all in a highly respectful manner. Keep up the good work and “happy gaming.”
You did nothing wrong, dude. I didn't particularly think it was "political" outside of the political figure that was used in the example. I still think that if someone shows you who they are, believe them. If that person isn't a good fit for your table, don't do your table a disservice by tolerating them being at it. That's not anti-inclusivity; it's having standards.
You did nothing wrong. You did not make a poor choice. The viewers who had issues made a poor choice. It seems that our society has become on of which people will take anything someone says and twist it. There is no need to apologize, you cannot control how others bend your words. You just keep doing what you have always done. Leave the Negative Nancies behind.
Just wanted to stop by to say, I think you made a poor choice in good faith, I think we have very different opinions in many aspects of life, God and politics and still the only thing I posted under last week's video was "Luke does not suck". You are a very kind man. Thanks for the video. Greetings from Germany.
I think you did the right thing speaking about how you believe, whether I agree or not I will never stop respecting you and your team. Thank you for all you do.
Went back to watch it. You did nothing wrong. Ive been feeling more and more uncomfortable with the way that the ttrpg inclusivity brigades react to tar feather & smear anyone who voices even the mildest of efforts to say that their efforts are going too far. It wasn't that long ago where I saw a bunch of folks falling all over themselves to dog pile a victim of emotional abuse for not being polite enough while describing their abusers while adding a relevant experience in a discussion started by the inclusivity brigade.
Yeah the original video was fine. Didn’t mistake it for anything you said here and took it as intended. Some people (you know who) took it as you need to let people you don’t want to play with play at your table. It was meant to say even people you don’t want at your table have a right to play d&d.

Thanks for making the clarification
Your message was fine. You did nothing wrong. Don’t apologize.
It would be a real pleasure to have you as a GM.
If you read the comments on the last one I hope you read the comments here too because I see nothing but love for you and for any gamer that can show kindness at the table.
Thanks for clarifying Luke! I've always appreciated your content but also your integrity!
I honestly appreciate the clarification.
Whether or not you believe that the person mentioned in the original tweet has done that, it’s clear that poster believed it, and was trying to protect the inclusivity the company had built itself around.
it’s honestly making me a bit sad how hard it is for people to wrap their heads around this idea.
Totally agree!
Everyone dogpiling on you wasn't your fault, but theirs.
It was a great post.
You did nothing wrong, apologizing will never satisfy the offended, keep on keeping on.
I think you have nothing to apologize for. I found your original video clear and concise without being insulting at all. If other people had problems with comprehending your point, that's on them. As that great philosopher T Swift sang, "Shake it off".
Stop apologizing- you did nothing wrong
It's a shame people couldn't listen to the message of peace you were trying to communicate.
i had an evangelical christian player at my table with several LGBTQ players once. Peaceful is not how i'd describe it so the sentiment of the original post is once I can certainly get behind.
You’re good man. TTRPGs are for everyone.
Yes but he didn’t mention bacon so he wasn’t 💯 correct
It's so weird that you felt that you had to apologize a couple of times for your editorial. Your message still stands I don't see why people would freak out over it? Yes that's what these games do is bring people you wouldn't normally talk to and play a game. Whatever happens outside of that game that is up to you to decide how you are going to deal with it. At least there was an opportunity to put all of that aside and again, play a game.
We love you Luke ❤
The message was clear, long live bacon
You did nothing wrong. I saw no endorsement. You delivered on your intent and brought great points.
Nothing wrong was said.
You’re good bro
Just wanted to stop by to say, I think you made a poor choice in good faith, I think we have very different opinions in many aspects of life, God and politics and still the only thing I posted under last week's video was "Luke does not suck". You are a very kind man. Thanks for the video. Greetings from Germany.
You clarified enough already in your previous video. You did nothing wrong and you made no “poor” choice
