Means nothing when the new team actively dislikes the tone of the older games and is commited to making an experience _they_ want, not what the audience/fanbase wanted (the main characters just seem like a self-insert fanfinction of some UCLA graduate imagining they were gangsters). And the suits just want to capture the Fortnite kid market and the Twitter activist market. At least that's what it seems like to me.

Agents of Mayhem had repetitive gameplay and horrible level design, but at least the writing had a little bit of charm to it with its GI Joe-style characters. The Yakuza guy was pretty cool at least. New Saints Row, on the other hand, has no redeeming qualities.
Seeing the Saints Row reboot reminds me of Dead Rising 4; where the original devs are replaced by ones with little to no experience with the franchise and misses a lot of features that made the previous installments great.

What the new Saints Row reminded me the most of was the 2014 RoboCop remake. It has the name, but none of the soul. As an open world game, it's average. As a reboot to a beloved franchise, it's a sanitized, watered-down version of what people know and love.
Am I the only one taking pleasure in seeing the game flop hard after how arrogant the developers came off in videos and on twitter responding to fans concerns about the reboot after it's reveal.
I fell in love with the Saints Row franchise in 2008 after buying SR2 on a random whim. When I got Saints Row 2, I legitimately played it for 25 hours straight without eating or sleeping. At one point in time, I considered the Saints Row franchise to be my favorite series in gaming. To say I'm heartbroken by this atrocious new game is an understatement. I quickly saw the writing on the wall last year when the first trailer came out and looked more like Watch Dogs 2 or Fortnite than the classic Saints Row of old. There was just nothing about it that seemed original, creative, or edgy. Remember when Saints Row 3 had that completely bizarre Tim & Eric ad campaign? Say what you will about their brand of humor, but those ads left a lasting impression, made everyone take notice of Saints Row, and felt like truly outside-the-box thinking. There was NONE of that in this new game. I'm not suggesting that something being edgy automatically makes it good, but what I loved about Saints Row 3 was how unpredictable and off-the wall it was. I found myself eagerly anticipating the next mission just to see what type of craziness the game would throw at me next. Why any developer would decide to take a franchise known for its over-the-top insanity and turn it into some tame story about student loans is beyond me. I used to recommend the Saints Row franchise to people all the time, but ever since this abomination was announced, I stopped doing so because I didn't want people to mistakenly think I was recommending this game.
It really is heart-breaking mate, I used to love recommending Saints Row to new people and play through the games co op. The games had fun with themselves and that was infectious. Saints Row 2022 has completely bungled that, lost its identity and didn't even make a good game on top of alienating their fans
You can recommend the first four games. Just tell them the last one (meaning SR 2022) is garbage and should avoid at all costs. That's what I plan on doing.
When it comes to Tomb Raider, you can't really screw up the story of the main character unless your Netflix or Amazon Prime video. Now when it comes to these clowns at volition, the sentence is 2nd bankruptcy as they bite the hand that feeds them financially which is us casual gamers. If your mom, dad, auntie, uncle, grandma, grandpa give you clear instructions to complete a task at hand you don't do the opposite of the instructions that are given to you. If it ain't broken don't fix it! I can't stress that enough.

Saints Row is my favorite game series. I LOVE all the Saints Row games, and seeing how much of a disappointment this reboot came out to be is just heartbreaking. Makes me really miss Johnny, Shaundi, Pierce, Kinzie, and the rest of the real Saints.
Going back and playing all the games for this video made me realise how Johnny, Shaundi, Pierce, Kinzie, Julius, Aesha, the lot are all so sorely missed!
This soulless, toothless, franchise killer of a reboot just further reinforces my opinion that a lot of people (not me though because I loved it) were too hard on Saints Row 4. Yes 4 had its big flaws and it was still inferior to 2, but it also had so much fun stuff and variety crammed into it. The weapons were incredible and so diverse, it had a giant mech, it had neat sections referencing other game genres like side-scroller beat em ups, text adventures and Metal Gear Solid stealth, it still had all the great characters from old and brought back so many from the first two titles that you could even make into your homies (Fun Shaundi!) and also cool new characters like CID and Asha and Zinyak, and it even had Rowdy Roddy Piper in it. The series really should've ended with that one, it was a definitive grand finale, a game that very much still felt made by people who understood the core appeal of Saints Row, instead of Saints Row 2022 which looks, sounds, and feels like it was made by people who hated Saints Row for its raunchiness and excess and felt the obligation to neuter all of it in order to please and placate the anger of uptight game journalists and Gen Z snowflakes. I fear for GTA VI now.
I completely agree mate, Saints Row 4 cops a lot of flack but at the end of the day, whether you think it's "Saints Row" or not it's a fun game! This feels like they gutted anyone who worked on the original games and left behind people afraid to make simple jokes.
Anyone who is saying Saints Row 2 is superior to the new Saints Row has not actually played the game. It is a much more open world than its predecessor. The previous Saints Row games were just big open towns. The cities were all connected, but if you left one, they were still big open towns. There were still a lot of quests, but you were basically just moving from one town to the next, doing the mission to unlock the next town and having a few fun side quests in between. Believe me I have been playing this series since it was exclusively on the Xbox.
I always maintained that SR4 was a great game, but a bad Saints Row. It felt more like a Crackdown sequel than anything. Nothing wrong with that, mind, but when a game in the Saints Row series that has the least to do with the series' overall aesthetic shows more respect to what the series was than the reboot does, there's a problem. You can easily tell no one on the current dev team had anything to do with Saints Row before The Third, if even that.
as someone who has been a fan of this game for years, it is very saddening to see how out of touch these developers have gotten with their fans. I had hoped they had finally listened and actually took time to work on making the game fun like it once was , but unfortunately they released a game that could potentially be the last in the series now…

Aim-assist prioritizing enemy NPCs at a distance instead of the ones right in front of you is something that I've experienced in a lot of games. It has been an issue in video game series as diverse as _Call of Duty,_ _Far Cry,_ and _Metro 2033._ I don't know why developers don't do something about this.
I liked this game when i started it thought it could be fun, No…. I got the platinum trophy in this game because I’m the completionist that needs to complete everything and I hated it by the 5 hour mark and it took 51 hours for the plat. Straight misery

Sad to hear. SR used to be one of if not outright my favorite series of games. I loved SR2 and SR3, and enjoyed SR4 quite a bit because I went into it knowing full well what it was and how wacky/fun it was going to be. I think part of my commitment to the series through all those changes though was probably linked to the one constant... the cast of characters. They were all genuinely funny and enjoyable in one way or another. I think the lack of them in the reboot has done it no favors... it's a lot of changes we don't like without any of the character commitment incentive to put on the rose colored glasses :/

Instead of pre-ordering I'll wait for game pass release or reviews.nreally growing tired of this trend of releasing ga,especially half finished the saying "oh it will be good eventually". No this shut should be good day 1 ffs some minor bugs I expect but major bugs making the game unplayable and that couldn't possibly have been missed in play testing. There's no excuse for it as it shows the game wasn't tested at all prior to release or the devs just don't give a shit. I don't know if me getting older is just making me grumpy or what but it really does feel like games used to be better when I was a kid (late 90s to mid 2000s). Every major release in the past few years I've really looked forward to seems to release as a steaming pile of shit. Nothing but disappointment and frustration.

The sad thing is, if they had just done a full remaster of the second game, like they did with Mafia, it would have turned out so much better. However, now that this re-boot has arguably cemented the fate of the series, we'll probably never see that.
It sucks how everything has to be watered down to appeal to as wide an audience as possible, doesn't help either that comedy nowadays isn't allowed to be edgy and just comes off as lame and desperate for laughs.
This sucks to hear. I've been a huge fan of the Saints Row games since the 2nd game on 360. I was really looking forward to this one since it doesn't seem like we're getting GTA 6 anytime soon. I wasn't crazy about the dialogue and writing we saw in trailers but I was still looking forward to playing this game. I've heard from so many youtube reviewers and streamers that the game is in a really bad state right now. Maybe I'll pick it up in a few months once it's on sale and hope that the devs have been able to fix some of the big issues.
If you're interested in trying the game out for yourself, deep sale or game pass is the way to go. Technical issues are rough right now but the core game isn't very good to begin with.
What Volition should have done was get the guys who made SR3 Remastered to do the rest of the series. Just imagine being able to play all of these great games on modern hardware with updated visuals. Especially the first game which was never ported to PC. Instead of that, all we got was this half-hearted attempt of a reboot.
I very much dislike when people use the term "outdated" to suggest something is worse. I'm sorry but older games were better in almost every way except maybe graphics. It also suggests the natural progression of all things in life, video games included, is continuous improvement and march in the right direction. But that's very clearly not the case. I would consider something being "outdated" to be a compliment.
Well that sounds more like your definition of outdated is just inaccurate. The point of the term isn't to describe old things as explicitly worse but to describe when something is bad due to a lack of understanding at the time of its creation. If it's old but it still holds up today, it isn't outdated. If it was something that was acceptable due to restrictions of the time but newer developments have improved on the system to the point that the older stuff is strictly worse, then it is outdated. Nobody uses "outdated" to refer to old classics like Super Mario Bros; they use it to describe bad things of the past that were necessary evils of the time such as tank controls or old polgynal graphics. That said, even then the term is of course subjective as many people would argue that the tank controls of older games like Resident Evil were large components of what made them good but that's another discussion altogether.
Well said, as someone who mainly just revisits older games I'm not going around saying they're terrible games now simply because they didn't release today.
When they soft released that character customizer weeks before the game's release - it was so janky and every character looked ugly and uninspired. Even the premade ones were like - meh. It kept me from pre-ordering ....
I cant remember which Saints Row I tried to play all those years ago but it had some crazy stupid opening with Asian mafia bosses etc. I will try to check it out again, maybe Saints Row 2 and 3
Thr one thing this game did well was that it made me want to go back and revisit the old games. I feel compelled to experience the games in chronological order again, from SR1 to AoM. That's a problem; if your game is so terrible that I'd rather replay Agents of Mayhem than it, you've officially fucked up.
Pretty sure that if you ask the current team that made this game, most of them never played the first games, and is sad that in the end, it seems that the priority of this "game" was being woke and broke instead of fun, worst sin a game can do is be boring.

After playing for about 10 hours I can sum up this Saints Row with... Mass Effect Andromeda All the basic SR stuff is there but it is just kind of boring. I, for one, got fed up of doing the same damn thing over and over to fully unlock the Ventures. For those that don't know, most of the Venture tasks involve driving a vehicle from point A to point B while being chased. Once is fine, 10 times is kind of a pain but OK, 100 times?!! (Yes, really!) Even if every single bug was fixed and quality of life fixes were added, the writing and characters would still be bad, the gameplay would still be repetitive. I'm not sure I'll finish the story on this one and thats saying something as I've finished the main story on SR1,2,3 and 4 (2,3 and 4 more than once) Gat Out Of Hell is the only one I didn't finish the main story on. I guess this one joins it!
The story only requires I think 2 or 3 ventures to be filled to complete the game, depending on which ventures you pick, certain ones have less missions, so for me and the ventures I chose, I was able to complete the game very quickly and I have two jobs a gf, and I go to the gym, so that should tell you how short the story is
I Still question why they slapped on a M for Mature rating on this game when it was more designed for a much younger audience, This game is more of a T for teen or almost a E for everyone rating
The big problem for me here that that it feels like the game was treated like a job, with no care. I can put up with "bad" (cause quality can be subjective) games i.e. Cyberpunk, MA Andromeda and Watchdogs legion because they have an identity, It feels like at least someone cared, and that feeling can carry me through and smooth over the rougher parts. Games like this just feel by the numbers, you clock in, make the assets and go home. While that may not be the case and there will be passionate people involved with this game, it feels cold, clinical and dead. Any enjoyment taken from this feels tainted and just a little off, like eating a microwave meal, sure it's food but there's better options. sorry for the tldr
A lack of care is a great way to put it because where some games have that in the technical side, idea wise and identity wise its great and Saints Row has neither. I agree you can find enjoyment in the game but it doesn't feel right.

I'm pretty sure the AI pile ups in those insurance fraud parts of this video are on purpose as it adds more vehicles to hit in the activity. Because the activity also makes the AI drive alot faster on purpose which it always has in the series.
You are correct, in Insurance Fraud the vehicles go off the rails. Unfortunately I could not for the life of me find the clips of those instances happening in the world naturally so to illustrate what I was talking about I had to use my footage of insurance fraud.
i see this game like how smosh made fun of they're fans because they wanted the old smosh. in that viedo they took the old smosh and diled evrything up to a 20/10 and said thats how the old smosh was, while in some areas it was a 14/10 they still didn't understand what made the old smosh fun to watch. The guns glitch, the cut scenes glitch some of the missions glitch, there’s more thought put into the side activities storylines than the main missions storylines the dialogue is ass the wanted app has more diversity in the missions than the main missions the game is about 10-12 hours long and trust you won’t make it to the 10 hour mark playing this
What's the point of playing and exploring a games world if the world itself is dead and boring to play and explore that's the main issue with open world games unless you're playing red dead redemption 2 where in that game there's always something to do and find like hidden npcs easter eggs that kind of good shit

I think the better route would have been to remaster Saints Row 1 and 2 instead of rebooting. I know some of the material is dated and wouldn’t fly today, but look at THQ Nordic and Destroy All Humans 1-2, they left a disclaimer and those are really good remasters. Making a Saints Row without Shaundi, Gat, Pierce, pretty much any character we love is like having Breaking Bad without Walt, Jesse, and Saul. Who’s gonna wanna fucking watch that?

I went back to play SR2 after this crappy game came out. I spent hours goofing around, causing chaos, and grinding without realizing I hadn't started the 3rd mission which is to meet Gat at Aisha's place. It was just that fun. Why couldn't they just make a remake instead of a reboot? Look at Destroy All Humans. That is a 100% remake without altering the original too much. They could've just did that for SR1 and 2. Do it like Spyro remake; remake the two best games in the franchise and put them on one disk. It baffles me. I've watched a lot of different people's gameplay of the SR 2022 and every single one is disappointed. WHY are there no npcs walking on the streets, hanging out, doing shit? You can't even kill npcs in one of the missions. A reviewer showed that the devs protected the npc from getting injured.

I think fans of the saints row series are ironically a lot more forgiving of the driving due to how great saints row 2 still is even though the driving is dogbags. Sure this driving is fine, compared to saints row 2.
As a diehard Tomb Raider fan it kinda hurts to have the reboot trilogy be given the same name too. They're more like Uncharted wannabes. Good games in their own right, but not good Tomb Raider games imo

I knew from the beginning when they weren't bringing back the original characters in this game I knew it was going to flop and turns out I was right reboots necessarily mean they don't turn out to be good take the thief reboot for example when I played the game I had a great time but my only complaint would be that it didn't live up to it's predecessor The DMC Reboot had issues sure but I still liked it but I enjoy the original games more
I bought this game with the lowest of expectations. I'm a fan of SR 1,2,3 and 4. The game is so plain, lifeless, and it's way worse than I thought it would be.

It really is heart-breaking mate, I used to love recommending Saints Row to new people and play through the games co op. The games had fun with themselves and that was infectious. Saints Row 2022 has completely bungled that, lost its identity and didn't even make a good game on top of alienating their fans
You can recommend the first four games. Just tell them the last one (meaning SR 2022) is garbage and should avoid at all costs. That's what I plan on doing.

When it comes to Tomb Raider, you can't really screw up the story of the main character unless your Netflix or Amazon Prime video.
Now when it comes to these clowns at volition, the sentence is 2nd bankruptcy as they bite the hand that feeds them financially which is us casual gamers.
If your mom, dad, auntie, uncle, grandma, grandpa give you clear instructions to complete a task at hand you don't do the opposite of the instructions that are given to you.

Saints Row is my favorite game series. I LOVE all the Saints Row games, and seeing how much of a disappointment this reboot came out to be is just heartbreaking. Makes me really miss Johnny, Shaundi, Pierce, Kinzie, and the rest of the real Saints.
Going back and playing all the games for this video made me realise how Johnny, Shaundi, Pierce, Kinzie, Julius, Aesha, the lot are all so sorely missed!
This soulless, toothless, franchise killer of a reboot just further reinforces my opinion that a lot of people (not me though because I loved it) were too hard on Saints Row 4.
Yes 4 had its big flaws and it was still inferior to 2, but it also had so much fun stuff and variety crammed into it. The weapons were incredible and so diverse, it had a giant mech, it had neat sections referencing other game genres like side-scroller beat em ups, text adventures and Metal Gear Solid stealth, it still had all the great characters from old and brought back so many from the first two titles that you could even make into your homies (Fun Shaundi!) and also cool new characters like CID and Asha and Zinyak, and it even had Rowdy Roddy Piper in it.
The series really should've ended with that one, it was a definitive grand finale, a game that very much still felt made by people who understood the core appeal of Saints Row, instead of Saints Row 2022 which looks, sounds, and feels like it was made by people who hated Saints Row for its raunchiness and excess and felt the obligation to neuter all of it in order to please and placate the anger of uptight game journalists and Gen Z snowflakes. I fear for GTA VI now.
I completely agree mate, Saints Row 4 cops a lot of flack but at the end of the day, whether you think it's "Saints Row" or not it's a fun game! This feels like they gutted anyone who worked on the original games and left behind people afraid to make simple jokes.
Anyone who is saying Saints Row 2 is superior to the new Saints Row has not actually played the game. It is a much more open world than its predecessor. The previous Saints Row games were just big open towns. The cities were all connected, but if you left one, they were still big open towns. There were still a lot of quests, but you were basically just moving from one town to the next, doing the mission to unlock the next town and having a few fun side quests in between. Believe me I have been playing this series since it was exclusively on the Xbox.
SR4 had a genuinely cool homage to Streets of Rage, with some interesting ideas
I always maintained that SR4 was a great game, but a bad Saints Row. It felt more like a Crackdown sequel than anything. Nothing wrong with that, mind, but when a game in the Saints Row series that has the least to do with the series' overall aesthetic shows more respect to what the series was than the reboot does, there's a problem. You can easily tell no one on the current dev team had anything to do with Saints Row before The Third, if even that.

as someone who has been a fan of this game for years, it is very saddening to see how out of touch these developers have gotten with their fans. I had hoped they had finally listened and actually took time to work on making the game fun like it once was , but unfortunately they released a game that could potentially be the last in the series now…

Aim-assist prioritizing enemy NPCs at a distance instead of the ones right in front of you is something that I've experienced in a lot of games. It has been an issue in video game series as diverse as _Call of Duty,_ _Far Cry,_ and _Metro 2033._ I don't know why developers don't do something about this.

Sad to hear. SR used to be one of if not outright my favorite series of games. I loved SR2 and SR3, and enjoyed SR4 quite a bit because I went into it knowing full well what it was and how wacky/fun it was going to be. I think part of my commitment to the series through all those changes though was probably linked to the one constant... the cast of characters. They were all genuinely funny and enjoyable in one way or another. I think the lack of them in the reboot has done it no favors... it's a lot of changes we don't like without any of the character commitment incentive to put on the rose colored glasses :/

That's how I have started treating the vast majority of games now. Instead of pre-ordering I'll wait for game pass release or reviews.nreally growing tired of this trend of releasing ga,especially half finished the saying "oh it will be good eventually". No this shut should be good day 1 ffs some minor bugs I expect but major bugs making the game unplayable and that couldn't possibly have been missed in play testing. There's no excuse for it as it shows the game wasn't tested at all prior to release or the devs just don't give a shit.
I don't know if me getting older is just making me grumpy or what but it really does feel like games used to be better when I was a kid (late 90s to mid 2000s). Every major release in the past few years I've really looked forward to seems to release as a steaming pile of shit. Nothing but disappointment and frustration.

This sucks to hear. I've been a huge fan of the Saints Row games since the 2nd game on 360. I was really looking forward to this one since it doesn't seem like we're getting GTA 6 anytime soon. I wasn't crazy about the dialogue and writing we saw in trailers but I was still looking forward to playing this game. I've heard from so many youtube reviewers and streamers that the game is in a really bad state right now. Maybe I'll pick it up in a few months once it's on sale and hope that the devs have been able to fix some of the big issues.
If you're interested in trying the game out for yourself, deep sale or game pass is the way to go. Technical issues are rough right now but the core game isn't very good to begin with.

What Volition should have done was get the guys who made SR3 Remastered to do the rest of the series. Just imagine being able to play all of these great games on modern hardware with updated visuals. Especially the first game which was never ported to PC. Instead of that, all we got was this half-hearted attempt of a reboot.

I very much dislike when people use the term "outdated" to suggest something is worse. I'm sorry but older games were better in almost every way except maybe graphics. It also suggests the natural progression of all things in life, video games included, is continuous improvement and march in the right direction. But that's very clearly not the case. I would consider something being "outdated" to be a compliment.
Well that sounds more like your definition of outdated is just inaccurate. The point of the term isn't to describe old things as explicitly worse but to describe when something is bad due to a lack of understanding at the time of its creation. If it's old but it still holds up today, it isn't outdated. If it was something that was acceptable due to restrictions of the time but newer developments have improved on the system to the point that the older stuff is strictly worse, then it is outdated. Nobody uses "outdated" to refer to old classics like Super Mario Bros; they use it to describe bad things of the past that were necessary evils of the time such as tank controls or old polgynal graphics. That said, even then the term is of course subjective as many people would argue that the tank controls of older games like Resident Evil were large components of what made them good but that's another discussion altogether.

When they soft released that character customizer weeks before the game's release - it was so janky and every character looked ugly and uninspired. Even the premade ones were like - meh. It kept me from pre-ordering ....
I cant remember which Saints Row I tried to play all those years ago but it had some crazy stupid opening with Asian mafia bosses etc. I will try to check it out again, maybe Saints Row 2 and 3

Mass Effect Andromeda
All the basic SR stuff is there but it is just kind of boring.
I, for one, got fed up of doing the same damn thing over and over to fully unlock the Ventures.
For those that don't know, most of the Venture tasks involve driving a vehicle from point A to point B while being chased.
Once is fine, 10 times is kind of a pain but OK, 100 times?!! (Yes, really!)
Even if every single bug was fixed and quality of life fixes were added, the writing and characters would still be bad, the gameplay would still be repetitive.
I'm not sure I'll finish the story on this one and thats saying something as I've finished the main story on SR1,2,3 and 4 (2,3 and 4 more than once)
Gat Out Of Hell is the only one I didn't finish the main story on. I guess this one joins it!
Andromeda is a good comparison and you're spot on, technical issues or not doesn't fix the writing and gameplay faults.
The story only requires I think 2 or 3 ventures to be filled to complete the game, depending on which ventures you pick, certain ones have less missions, so for me and the ventures I chose, I was able to complete the game very quickly and I have two jobs a gf, and I go to the gym, so that should tell you how short the story is
I Still question why they slapped on a M for Mature rating on this game when it was more designed for a much younger audience, This game is more of a T for teen or almost a E for everyone rating
The big problem for me here that that it feels like the game was treated like a job, with no care. I can put up with "bad" (cause quality can be subjective) games i.e. Cyberpunk, MA Andromeda and Watchdogs legion because they have an identity, It feels like at least someone cared, and that feeling can carry me through and smooth over the rougher parts.
Games like this just feel by the numbers, you clock in, make the assets and go home. While that may not be the case and there will be passionate people involved with this game, it feels cold, clinical and dead. Any enjoyment taken from this feels tainted and just a little off, like eating a microwave meal, sure it's food but there's better options. sorry for the tldr
A lack of care is a great way to put it because where some games have that in the technical side, idea wise and identity wise its great and Saints Row has neither. I agree you can find enjoyment in the game but it doesn't feel right.

Because the activity also makes the AI drive alot faster on purpose which it always has in the series.
You are correct, in Insurance Fraud the vehicles go off the rails. Unfortunately I could not for the life of me find the clips of those instances happening in the world naturally so to illustrate what I was talking about I had to use my footage of insurance fraud.

i see this game like how smosh made fun of they're fans because they wanted the old smosh. in that viedo they took the old smosh and diled evrything up to a 20/10 and said thats how the old smosh was, while in some areas it was a 14/10 they still didn't understand what made the old smosh fun to watch. Thats how i see the saints row reboot it tries way to hard that everything falls flat.
What could have made this game better is if they had at least one of the former saints be a mentor like Johnny Gat, Pierce or Shaundi mentor these newbies and turn them from nerdy college kids to actual gangsters whole taking the piss out of the new saints in the beginning

I think in terms of reboots you're always at risk of alienating fans but if the core game is solid in its own right it's a little easier to swallow.
this is not like Cyberpunk.. there is nothing there to improve with patching, no great city, no good story, no good graphics just nothing.

I didn't get a chance to ride many motorbikes from memory but I believe they sort of just doink off obstacles rather than propelling the player off
Reboot over 3 &4, nothing else Beats 1 &2. This community is really divided, even between the best 2 games in the series. It’s all about preference at the end of the day
The guns glitch, the cut scenes glitch some of the missions glitch, there’s more thought put into the side activities storylines than the main missions storylines the dialogue is ass the wanted app has more diversity in the missions than the main missions the game is about 10-12 hours long and trust you won’t make it to the 10 hour mark playing this

What's the point of playing and exploring a games world if the world itself is dead and boring to play and explore that's the main issue with open world games unless you're playing red dead redemption 2 where in that game there's always something to do and find like hidden npcs easter eggs that kind of good shit

I think the better route would have been to remaster Saints Row 1 and 2 instead of rebooting. I know some of the material is dated and wouldn’t fly today, but look at THQ Nordic and Destroy All Humans 1-2, they left a disclaimer and those are really good remasters. Making a Saints Row without Shaundi, Gat, Pierce, pretty much any character we love is like having Breaking Bad without Walt, Jesse, and Saul. Who’s gonna wanna fucking watch that?

I went back to play SR2 after this crappy game came out. I spent hours goofing around, causing chaos, and grinding without realizing I hadn't started the 3rd mission which is to meet Gat at Aisha's place. It was just that fun. Why couldn't they just make a remake instead of a reboot? Look at Destroy All Humans. That is a 100% remake without altering the original too much. They could've just did that for SR1 and 2. Do it like Spyro remake; remake the two best games in the franchise and put them on one disk. It baffles me. I've watched a lot of different people's gameplay of the SR 2022 and every single one is disappointed. WHY are there no npcs walking on the streets, hanging out, doing shit? You can't even kill npcs in one of the missions. A reviewer showed that the devs protected the npc from getting injured.
Saints Row 2 is no question the best saints row. I have no idea why it's in video game purgatory when saints row 3 got a remaster for switch.
Replaying Saints Row 2 was the best part about making this video, so much fun!

The DMC Reboot had issues sure but I still liked it but I enjoy the original games more
