How do you get the build order overlay? I tried using the spawning pool tool. but havent been able to get it completely working where I dont need to tab out.
I haven't used that in years, but I'd imagine you just need to use SC2 in windowed or fullscreen mode in your graphics menu. Personally I've always been a fan of written notes by hand or google doc these days and memorising them between games or pausing if I need to vs AI to check the notes. If you can't get spawning tool working either of those will be a good way to get going
The Protoss game when you saw the greedy third you would have won if you attacked them. You waited and lost as a result. Only Critical thing i could say.

Hey PiG! For hotkeys, do you use custom setups like Core? I'm an old man that likes to not play hopscotch across my keyboard. Edit: Watched far enough finally and I've gone for Core, new Bronze League Hero with zero Zerg experience inbound. Wait for first progress report!
hey dont take this as hate, just my honest opinion. this bronze to gm doesnt feel as genuine as the last one. I think its because they are custom games and i know that its technically accurate but something about it feels off
It's not exactly the same as ladder, but the skills I'm teaching are actually clearer and easier to follow here as I'm not rushing through to finish my opponents. These skills will get you well beyond Bronze/Silver, and as I go up the ladder I'll have a much larger pool of players to draw on and they will freeze up less under pressure of being on stream - so I think the similarity to ladder games and range of plays will increase as times goes on. Of course there'll still be people blind countering what I'm doing - but that's great because it shows the weaknesses of the strategies I'm doing and gives a great opportunity to teach how to adapt to those situations
@@PiGCoaching i know i know. Love the content you are doing honestly. Maybe one thing that you might have to be more mindful of. With the community games there isnt as much downtime in between games. I really appretiated the little offtime in between games of you going over what you did the game and why and maybe adding to the google doc. I'm sure this series will still be great tho. Please dont take this the wrong way i still really enjoyed the video and really appretiate all the effort going into this. Have a good one
not realistic enough for bronze/silver every zerg needs to be a 12 pool every terren BC/turtle, and every protoss cannon rush. That is the real bronze league experience. FR tho this video helped me ALOT. At first Ling/Bane was really hard for me to win with, but I watched PiG's other B2GM guides and something clicked. In your protoss B2GM you steamroll an opponent who goes for a super greedy opener (double forge, all the expensive stuff) and you clearly demonstrate the importance of being aware of what you opponent is trying to do and having what you need to put yourself in an advantageous situation against them. (sorry its hard for me to put to words) But it made my ability to fend of rushes and hit my timing attack skyrocket.
So… I just played my 5 matches. First time in years using some of this guide and winter… I am somehow in master league 3….. I lost all 5 matches. How did this happen???
oh i actually found a really awesome ''hack'' to instantly make you a better player. not even joking. since people allways mess up and get chaotic when things go bad: put on the most relaxing music you can find in the background. like i m speaking... chill sleep music, meditation music and others. just some vibes that really makes people calm down and relax because thats kind of the state you want to play sc2 in. relaxed getting pumped up because the doom soundtrack hits when your opponent attacks and 100% you ll do way more mistakes.
Is it ok to unbind the other create and take away control group? I'm using my Meepo control group, 1-5 for group 1-5 and alt1-5 for group 6-10. Thanks.
OMG this is a gift from god. I have seen every other version of b2gm from you and other casters. I really like yours. Please make a fresh one for terran! I am not sure of what opener to use anymore and the current meta with all the patches ( raven changes) Thank you for these guides. I still look at other races just to know a bit more about them NA D1 4000mmr terran trying to reach M3 4300 oh and thank you also for the tournament you are hosting and F*ck blizz for stopping giving money to sc2.
I am just on the settings part, and didnt know that about the enhance pointer precision... that explains why my mouse feels so sluggish half the time whether for work or another game! I like fast moving mouse, but hate having to press the dpi button because then i cant see movements and it gets all jarbled. Disabling now feels so weird using the mouse lol but I am sure a couple days and I will be used to it, but so much prefer that off so thank you for teaching me something new about my computer that I won't just use in game but for work! side note, I use an 18 inch monitor, I hope to get a 24 inch at some point because I think that could be a good size.
I have struggled with Terran Mech for so long... and just now with nothing but lings, bane & corrupts a turtle mech Terran just asked me "what I get out of smurfing" (ended up being a semi-amicable chat, told him to feel free to check my match history and that it was PiG's recent B2GM tutorial in action ect) While I'm still a bit shaky with this build and style, I've been having a lot more wins since watching this video and honestly ling play is just fun ;) (currently in plat) Thanks PiG!!!!
By 6 min there will be helios push or marines push if against terran,if against protoss ,there might be stalker push like 15 of them by min 6.... Am I wrong ?
i recently forced myself to use camera locations and holy moly, it is such a gamechanger compared to home camera especially on zerg. the issue is: if you have 3 inject queens but 5 bases and lets say 4 macro hatches and all you use is homecamera, you always have to cycle through 9 hatcheries trying to find your queens while camera locations you always know where your queens are
Hello fam, would you recommend watching the first B2GM series first or can start with this? Or should I start with the first series of Terran B2GM? Ta!
can you help me? i followed your steps of the protoss guide to rapidfire but it is not working with ravager power and creep tumors, i have both units with the C button, but I cannot rapid fire with the shift + left click
15:45 i use a Razor Naga mouse with 12 keys on my thumb which are numerical. its easier for me to not fat finger pressing wrong numbers above my left hand.
I just recently got into this game and am watching the shit out of your first Zerg Bronze to GM! Your guides are super helpful, and even more importantly, they are entertaining. Never stop doing this content, I was binge watching all your casts too for the last few weeks too. Always a pleasure hearing you ranting about Darks messed up builds.
First games on ladder you'll be playing vs plat players until you lose a few games and it drops your MMR to this level. So you're right in that your first ladder games aren't like this, but if you're actually in bronze or silver it's fine. If you really want to get better you can join my discord, or ask a question and I could be giving some tips in this very comment.
@@PiGCoaching thanks. But all your guides are correct. All i do is just too slow or poorly executed 1st attack. Need a practice it properly and more often. I know what to do. But my executions suck. It will eventually get better
This is absolutely AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!! I have learned taking extra bases because of THIS guide right the fuck here. I know to some it doesnt sound impressive but ive had a 30 minute slog against the very hard AI in a ZvZ and i think i had 6 expansions going on at all times. I dont think that mentality of expanding wouldve been embedded more deeply if i didnt get the fundamentals down thanks to you sir. It was THE very first time ive beaten it and i am immensly proud. Thank you Pig.
Nice guide A bit fast tho(I'm like so new I don't know half these controls or what the units are) On monitor size, I just lament SCII is so hard to play in VR or on my ultrawide. Every other competitive game under the sun has UW support, why not SCII?
This one is with organic, ethically sourced local opponents (I'm taking volunteers from the community for each show so we don't hurt anyone's ladder experience)
Thanks for your coaching my friend. I've always struggled against Terran as Zerg and I unequivocally wrecked a Platinum 3 Terran player today. I was in the groove and muscle memory was working as you say, and I did it with just LingBane ! On his first push i was able to micro my banes to the front as you suggest and then go for the surround with the lings afterwards and was able to completely wipe his 27 marines and 5 siege tanks on his first push, and he was so invested he couldn't repel my counterattack that came less than 2 minutes later.
I've only been playing a 2 days, and I'm glad you brought up bench-marking because I'm having a hard time gauging how I'm actually doing. I was doing alright day 1, but today has been full of chaos / cheese. I got rushed with a stealth flying unit super early on one game, and they kept shredding my economy and it completely ruined any chance I had at getting my macro practice in. Guy ended up having 40 APM to my 120 and I still felt completely outpaced because I kept having to restart. A few games before that I also got cannon-rushed before my 2nd base even popped, so same thing. When scenarios like that happen, I feel even more lost than I already am, and it makes it really hard to judge if I'm doing anything right at all. Edit: Add widowmine marine rush to that list.
Trial by fire! Sounds like a rough streak. Make sure you watch the replays and write a few dot points for each situation/new pressure you dealt with for you to follow next time you encounter it. SC has limitless tactics to screw with the opponent so slowly building experience with those situations will be really great. Make sure you hop in my Discord and share replays of any frustrating losses in the "Zerg Discussion" channel so we can help you out: discord.gg/SkhbzCM
Very nice coaching Pig thanks a lot ! My F1-F4 keys are wonky, I set up my camera locations 1-2-3 to Space bar, Shift-Space, and CTRL-Space. 3 locations is th emost I can deal with now anyway !
Im an 18 year old guy from Norway .I'm wondering if its any worth taking the time to learn the game seriously or not. Been thinking of it for some time and I enjoy watching Korean pros play the game, but is it still fun if I play against others around my level? Finaly is there a lot of new players that I can practice aginst or mill everyone just demolish me because im new, or should I just learn one race very good in practice before I play?
It's never too late to get into RTS. The skills all overlap so even if Stormgate or another RTS ends up being the next big esport, everything you learn here will cross over and give you a headstart in the next game. The ladder is the most active of any RTS ladder, so it's the best for new and low level players to learn. You will probably lose your first 5-10 games but after that you should find pretty good matches
In your 2021 zerg series I went from plat to diamond! Hard stuck plat for the looongest. Now here we go to diamond and above with your 2023 version! Thanks pig!
Congrats! Great achievement for anyone to get masters, let alone without being able to see the minimap! 🤣🤣 Seriously though any real reason you disagree?
I know this may be the dumbest question ever but I’m having a hard time visualizing how I’m supposed to hold my hand when injecting and using the camera hot keys I’ve learned to play using the grid hot keys . If I go up to hit f1 and then come down to click x to inject how the hell am i supposed to ever be able to do that in any fast manner 😂.
uhhh vibes b2gm from 2 yrs ago has better emphasis on macro IMO... way better emphasis on macro and timings and safety units to have at certain supply counts.. i feel his zerg b2gm is for a player who truly wants to take their game to the next level.. roaches are better to use while learning.. lings too larvae intensive.. roaches way better for a newer player trying to get to diamond / masters.. as they don't understand how to stack injects and build a sufficient ammount of macro hatches for the ling style....
This is definitely a more challenging style initially. That's why in my previous B2GM I started everyone on a roach build: th-cam.com/video/Tr1_8C6CjMQ/w-d-xo.html This one takes a different approach that is a bit more challenging but will make the transition to gold, plat and beyond much smoother as you're used to a very fast paced army that requires a much larger economy
I learned a lot from this series. PiG do you think this strategy is still effective after the newest balance patch where banelings got nerfed? I'm asking from a plat 2 level range.
heya yeah it can still be very effective, just has the same issues that it runs into this show. If people realise you're just massing ling-bane like all my viewers that were volunteering you can start running into stuff like heavy archon-collosus that absolutely WRECKS ling-bane at a certain point haha
Ty for your videos i just started sc2 and it helps me a lot. And you explain that well that i can enderstand even if im not fluent in english tyvm. Is the build order of the previous unranked to gm still good btw ?
One thing I always think about when starting a building is using a drone without minerals or gas in their hands/claws(?). Is that justified or do i gain the resources even when i build something with the drone?
You'll lose the resources, better to use one without but not worth wasting time fiddling around. So with my mouse accuracy playing high level games I almost never use a worker with resources, however in these games playing super slow I won't care.
just takes time to build the muscle memory on those macro cycles. Remember to finish every round of worker, then army production, then DEPOTS. As long as you do that last step every time then you'll develop super fast
It´s a litle bit old, but to learn the Basics again it should work very well. To play Ling Bane will be a little bit more difficault after newest patch, but in bronze, silver and gold league it should work very fine. Like your friendly and respectfull manner, thank you for the help.
Just been playing for over a week or so and this helped a bunch. Using another guys build order with ling hydras but my hotkeys have been a mess. Been using individual hotkeys for every hatchery and using my larva from one hatch at a time. Did some bot games and damn things slowed down when I could just get access to all the larva from one hot key haha
If you prefer damaged you can play with that. I find it makes it very easy to see where all the units are in the jumble, and to spot spellcasters in the middle of other units because of their energy bar.
yo I'm new I'm playing for 1 month and I watched ur zerg b2gm up until episode 8 and now i see that u do update on it rn haha great timing for me and it helped me allot i get 100+ apm games in silver 2 right now, enjoying the grind so far.
Havent seen all videos yet. But in the future as you get better. Should you still follow these build orders? Or should you be like oh now im vs protoss im gonna go for roach/hydra plan into lurker or something? Like every game adapt to your opponent if u get my question, haha maybe i worded this poorly but i hope someone good understands it and can answer 😆😅
you start developing different standard builds for each matchup, usually in plat or diamond league. That's something this show will teach you. And you can always adjust those builds based on what you find most interesting or effective in the current meta.
It's pretty hardcore nerdy setup that only works in in games that have super customisable hotkeys and modifiers (most games you can't use something like this). More info here: tl.net/forum/sc2-strategy/341878-thecore-advanced-keyboard-layout

@@PiGCoaching yeah I add them to 5. Watched a video on it. I don't spacebar inject though, especially after adding macro hatches. I prefer using the saved camera hotkeys. Thanks for the reply. Watching your serral vs hero casting game right now. Pretty nuts!
Yes! I just started playing again.
it's wild, it's still Trump and Racism in the Gen chat
cheeky perv is what i think when i get my base scouted lol
Can you please respond to this when you can? I need to know the default numbers for the HKEY response delay, flags etc. I can't type like this lol
Dude you are a great teacher, I haven’t played in nearly a decade and I got to platinum primarily playing Terran but I’m getting back into it and want to try a different race, thank you for these recent training vids!! You earned a new sub!!
Man thanks again, this has helped me so so much.
Ling/Bane still viable after the nerf in the recent patch? Just started playing sc2 so I'd assume this build is still viable under diamond
100% you don't really notice the change 9/10
thanks! Im still getting used to the macro cycle but your videos are helping a lot. I'm practicing on bots and I'm at Hard level difficulty. I've done some unranked matches and I'm at about 50/50. Gotta look up how to defend against a Helion rush because that wrecked me (': @@PiGCoaching
Great coaching very understanding and helpful! Lovely to see someone openminded and not flexing his skill but showing off improvements on every level and scenario really appreciate it keep it up! Love to see it !
Hey PiG! For hotkeys, do you use custom setups like Core? I'm an old man that likes to not play hopscotch across my keyboard.
Edit:
Watched far enough finally and I've gone for Core, new Bronze League Hero with zero Zerg experience inbound. Wait for first progress report!
Just finished watching the last zerg B2GM perfect timing
hey dont take this as hate, just my honest opinion.
this bronze to gm doesnt feel as genuine as the last one.
How did this happen???
oh i actually found a really awesome ''hack'' to instantly make you a better player. not even joking. since people allways mess up and get chaotic when things go bad: put on the most relaxing music you can find in the background. like i m speaking... chill sleep music, meditation music and others. just some vibes that really makes people calm down and relax because thats kind of the state you want to play sc2 in. relaxed
getting pumped up because the doom soundtrack hits when your opponent attacks and 100% you ll do way more mistakes.
I am not sure of what opener to use anymore and the current meta with all the patches ( raven changes)
Thank you for these guides. I still look at other races just to know a bit more about them
NA D1 4000mmr terran trying to reach M3 4300
oh and thank you also for the tournament you are hosting and F*ck blizz for stopping giving money to sc2.
Haha thnx Colin. WIll def do a new Terran then Protoss one after I wrap up the Zerg one :)
I have struggled with Terran Mech for so long... and just now with nothing but lings, bane & corrupts a turtle mech Terran just asked me "what I get out of smurfing" (ended up being a semi-amicable chat, told him to feel free to check my match history and that it was PiG's recent B2GM tutorial in action ect)
While I'm still a bit shaky with this build and style, I've been having a lot more wins since watching this video and honestly ling play is just fun ;) (currently in plat)
Thanks PiG!!!!
Thanks mate! Much appreciated
I'm only 19mins in to this video and I'm learning a lot! Thanks PiG for this enjoyable tutorial :D
I refuse to believe PiG doesn't have experience in actual teaching.
coaching SC2 players for 12 years :)
Getting back into SC2. Been out for awhile but now rewatching your video content. So fun man. Love these contents. Keep doing them!!!
Welcome back!
Bouta get Gm as Terran don’t wanna have to relearn everything for Terran if I try zerg
Interesting what is the best way to keep "watchdog" zeglings over the map to be excluded from the army hotkey
Ive also not played ranked, and struggle doing VS AI. Can I also be humiliated on the PiG Show?
Thanks for the videos, and lessons! Today I beat AI Hard the first time 😅 I may even be ready for human players soon
It looks so okey if he plays it. In reality shaet goes wrong in milion ways before you get to the level he teaches
Went better ...in 2 weeks. +300 rating...cool ;)
good shit@@matuspetrus
I tried to use the core. Didn’t like using right side of keyboard. Used core lite and like it so much better. ❤ core lite!!!!
Hello babiesss 😅👀🐴🦂🪰
Nice Coaching 10/10 !!
Thank you Pig.
eyyy massive congrats mate!
i noticed when you dont have enough res to drop a building / create a unit you keep clicking instead of just holding the button down why is this?
Nice guide
A bit fast tho(I'm like so new I don't know half these controls or what the units are)
On monitor size, I just lament SCII is so hard to play in VR or on my ultrawide.
Every other competitive game under the sun has UW support, why not SCII?
oh wow RTS in VR - that sounds like it'd be epic!
It is an older game but hopefully the next big RTS's will be more equipped for modern tech
You said never again!!! But hey man glad your doing it though!
This one is with organic, ethically sourced local opponents
(I'm taking volunteers from the community for each show so we don't hurt anyone's ladder experience)
Woo pig replied to me!
Thanks for the content man it inspired me to play some sc 2 again! I love the content and breakdown your giving us! Keep it up man!
NOICE
Oh my oh my yes yes
Is the old Zerg build still good
yep still kicks ass if you prefer roaches use it
Is there something like this for Brood War Remastered? :D
Oh. I didn't even know there was going to be a 2023 version of this.
Very nice coaching Pig thanks a lot ! My F1-F4 keys are wonky, I set up my camera locations 1-2-3 to Space bar, Shift-Space, and CTRL-Space. 3 locations is th emost I can deal with now anyway !
3 camera hotkeys is 3 more than most of the playerbase, gl practicing!
Thanks pig!
eyy hope the swap in styles helps you out mate!
As someone who got M3 off a 15" laptop screen I disagree about monitor size.
Congrats! Great achievement for anyone to get masters, let alone without being able to see the minimap! 🤣🤣
Seriously though any real reason you disagree?
got a like for rej edit. but seriously thanks for all that you do PiG
Well I just heard you say to make sure to have a keyboard where the F keys are as close as possible and talking about changing hot keys 😬😬 sorry lol
uhhh vibes b2gm from 2 yrs ago has better emphasis on macro IMO... way better emphasis on macro and timings and safety units to have at certain supply counts.. i feel his zerg b2gm is for a player who truly wants to take their game to the next level.. roaches are better to use while learning.. lings too larvae intensive.. roaches way better for a newer player trying to get to diamond / masters.. as they don't understand how to stack injects and build a sufficient ammount of macro hatches for the ling style....
This is definitely a more challenging style initially. That's why in my previous B2GM I started everyone on a roach build: th-cam.com/video/Tr1_8C6CjMQ/w-d-xo.html
This one takes a different approach that is a bit more challenging but will make the transition to gold, plat and beyond much smoother as you're used to a very fast paced army that requires a much larger economy
I tried the core and I became terrible and never got better lol. I went back to standard
should you get queens for macro hatches or is that overkill?
Nice guides! I'm happyyour brother didnt change your settings again ;) gl hf
haha thanks mate
inject, inject, inject! love it! brilliant! thanks for teaching!
The build order for previous is still great! This is just showing a different style, so pick whichever one you like
One thing I always think about when starting a building is using a drone without minerals or gas in their hands/claws(?). Is that justified or do i gain the resources even when i build something with the drone?
You'll lose the resources, better to use one without but not worth wasting time fiddling around. So with my mouse accuracy playing high level games I almost never use a worker with resources, however in these games playing super slow I won't care.
Thank you very much, I just won 2 games with around 150 pop of zergling. Screen was full of zergling :)
And one more :) 3/3 games! thanks again
Wish I could increase the size of my supply numbers :( I have a big problem letting myself get supply blocked.
just takes time to build the muscle memory on those macro cycles. Remember to finish every round of worker, then army production, then DEPOTS. As long as you do that last step every time then you'll develop super fast
38:42 "okay guys so now we're gonna see how banelings are terrible when you a-move them"
banelings:*absolutely destroy the poor protoss army*
hahaha
It´s a litle bit old, but to learn the Basics again it should work very well. To play Ling Bane will be a little bit more difficault after newest patch, but in bronze, silver and gold league it should work very fine. Like your friendly and respectfull manner, thank you for the help.
Dude youre a comedian ❤😂 Thanks for this
What’s the difference between this one and the one from a year ago?
Just been playing for over a week or so and this helped a bunch. Using another guys build order with ling hydras but my hotkeys have been a mess. Been using individual hotkeys for every hatchery and using my larva from one hatch at a time. Did some bot games and damn things slowed down when I could just get access to all the larva from one hot key haha
I'm Plat 1 and I struggle against the Hard AI. I can't beat the Brutal AI. Let's not underestimate them!
oh they're definitely not easy to beat! Just very different than playing against human players is all :)
How come you play with health bars always visible? Isn't it a bit confusidng?
If you prefer damaged you can play with that. I find it makes it very easy to see where all the units are in the jumble, and to spot spellcasters in the middle of other units because of their energy bar.
1:45:39 wtf ok hold up I started 3 days ago 130 apm is low for zerg all the injects and extra bases how could you have sub 130
yo I'm new I'm playing for 1 month and I watched ur zerg b2gm up until episode 8 and now i see that u do update on it rn haha great timing for me and it helped me allot i get 100+ apm games in silver 2 right now, enjoying the grind so far.
thanks so mutch for this guide and all others :D
Love the new tutorial videos! I may have to start playing again. I’ve played SC2 for over twenty years but not recently….
So Pig should I start watching 2nd ed or watch the first bronze to gm 1st edition before this one.
Up to you - if you prefer ling-bane stick with this one. If you prefer roaches - go check out the other one
@@PiGCoaching Thanks a lot!
No, they haven't /leave Trump'ed yet.
Thank you for the coaching. I'm curious about "The Core" hotkeys
It's pretty hardcore nerdy setup that only works in in games that have super customisable hotkeys and modifiers (most games you can't use something like this). More info here: tl.net/forum/sc2-strategy/341878-thecore-advanced-keyboard-layout
