Completely missed out Garang Kuol for Newcastle, did well to beat other teams to the signing and have smartly sent him out on loan to further develop
He is bloody brilliant, im not sure if youre an aussie but yeah hes great. Not surprised they missed it, honestly they never really seem to research anything, or indeed watch the smaller teams matches. The fee paid for Kuol was so so low, Newcastle did extremely well, possibly helped by Central Coast needing an immediate cash injection, as suggested by their email to members the other day.
Weghorst is one of the most sensible signing United have done in a long time. He's the perfect type of striker that ten hag wants. Always pressing, drops back, interceptions, such a team player always opening space for other players to shoot. He lacks pace and other qualities but he can be perfect striker to come off bench if we sign a top striker.
Fits their style of play really well. Very sensible choice with relatively little risk as well 👍

City and pep generally won't sign anyone in mid season, if they buy also ; the player they signed will join next season. Eg: Alvarez.

gakpo isn’t a panic buy, any club in the world would buy him for that price just for his potential. U can’t talk bad about the gakpo signing yet, by the end of the season maybe.

i’m surprised ings wasn’t offered to everton, he might not’ve wanted to go there but everton would’ve offered 10m more than west ham. Similar to bissouma in the summer, if liverpool knew he was available for 25m they would’ve offered 30 to guarantee the signing, the selling club doesn’t really benefit from their outgoings being secretive
City already have 4 solid fullbacks. Walker and Lewis on the right, Cancelo and Sergio Gomez on the left. Also Ake can play left and Akanji can play right

@@chuckmeat87 He is definitely not Haaland indeed nor does EtH expect that but judging Weghorst from his Burnley team is a bit harsh. The Burnley ship was sinking well before Weghorst signed, so much so that he had a clause in his contract that he leaves if they get relegated. Additionally, Weghorst is a guy who likes the ball at his feet and is not a Dyche-type physical route one-target type player. If he scores 8-10 goals and continues to press the current way, the loan will be a success.

I’m a cherries fan and I completely agree with Dave, our back line is so poor, how many goals we’ve conceded from set pieces is shocking, signing Ouattara and Semenyo is good but we need a good CB and LB, will be surprised if we stay up this season, hopefully we can 🙌🏻🍒🍒

@@ynohj.uchia10 yeah that is a win for arsenal losing mudryk who costs 100 million even though he only scored 9 goals over 4 seasons in a UKRAINIAN LEAGUE. Although Trossard is older, he is prem proven and fits into the arsenal team like a glove. Mudryk has more potential but arsenal do not need a 100 million signing they need depth to cover for martinelli so yes it is definitely an A. Also them bidding for mudryk made Chelsea have to pay more.

The only fair point was that maybe the Gakpo money could have been used for a midfielder. But everyone knows that Lpool do not want to «overpay» 80m for a midfielder. 30-40m for Gakpo is a sweet deal.

He's been extremely frustrated with roma and the run of form, and how the club operates apparently, also his family are still in England so make of that what you will. Brighton - signs an unknown for £6m and lose Trossard and Caicedo. "B"
Leeds - spends £70m on 3 top class players on areas they desperately need reinforcements. "C".
Chelsea has had a great transfer window. Definitely an A. Yes we haven’t signed a midfielder but we have been trying and I think it’s better that if we miss out on our first choice target and our second choice target. We leave it and don’t panic buy someone last minute. Id rather wait until the summer when we can more easily pry Enzo Fernandez from Benfica. Then Rice or Caicedo, who I think will stay at Brighton for now.

It's not hard to understand. What did the clubs need going into this window? Liverpool desperately need midfielders, Man utd to get rid of Cristiano and secondary get a backup up front before getting a new striker in the summer. Liverpool signed Gakpo but haven't done anything with their midfield. Man utd finally got Cristiano out of the club and brought in an OK backup.
As a City fan, I’m in complete agreement with the panel. City are in dire need of a speedy FB on the left (Cancelo is a natural righty but has until recently been excellent on the left but his form is dead at this point), as well as at least 1 runner on the wing with pace either on the right or left who will run at defenses and makes runs in behind as well which will help get balls to Haaland and capitalize on the disruptions he brings to defenses in transitions (which we are currently way to slow to build on like years past). And yet…City do nothing. SMH

Weghorst clearly isn't the signing that is going to carry United to a title. but as a loan? for Depth? I think it's a great signing. People say he's a Burnley Striker and yes, but that's too simplistic, look at his record in Germany. Ultimately as well, it's the profile of the signing, it's the type of signing United never made under the previous regime. He's a cheap option, with decent stats in Europe, who fits the system and plugs a hole in it as well. It's not glamorous but it's practical. Old United go out and spaff 80 mil on someone who's not right. It's literally 0 risk, if he scores 5 goals, helps us win a few games and leaves, he's literally done his job until a Kane or Osihmen can come in the summer
For a statman, Dave clearly voices opinions with his bias emotions involved. Failed to see Diaz and Jota's injuries as "short term" when both hasn't featured since October. And no, signing Gakpo isn't blocking Elliot appearances. He's the only player to have featured in every matches for Liverpool this season so far. Funny how Dave's failed to see this stat.

I’d put Chelsea as a D or E at best, yes the signings are nice but I can’t see how this won’t destabilise the club even more? The previous squad can’t be happy with all these new players coming in taking their spots. Just seems like a scattergun approach, and on Villa I believe Unai is more focused on clearing out first team players who aren’t getting minutes like Sanson, Guilbert etc. and focusing more on the summer.

mudryk is class, badishelle great, felix again better than what we have and the other signing have great potential, yes ziyech, pulisic and a few others should go but half of them are injured so how can you get rid of them, even aubameyang can’t get rid of him unless he goes to Barca. However the signings in the summer were poor, so they’re improving…. Why? Because they have a scouting team now.
This agenda that there’s no direction is invalid due to the fact that they looked to youth and the future. You could even see that they also found a loophole of signing player in the long term to avoid FFP. Yes there a risk to it but a risk worth taking.

Just a suggestion. Instead of doing it in alphabetical order, pick a random club out and speak about it for 1 minute. You've ended up rushing through the last 6 clubs in 3 minutes and spent 11 minutes talking about the first 6.
same as usual, spend all the time on the early teams then rush through get details wrong and not really debate the ones at the back end, especially when they have passed Liverpool.
They should alternate and go in reverse alphabetical order every other time. Midfield strengthened with replacements for Moutinho and Neves in the summer with Lemina and Joao Gomes, attack strengthened with Champions league experience with Sarabia and the next big Brazil forward Cunha. Defence strengthened with good solid PL experience with Dawson, and a beter backup goalie who was one of the top 2 or 3 keepers in the champ. Neto about to come back from injury as he is back in training. You are delusional if that isnt an A window. C is just evidence you dont care enough to evaluate it.
