It takes me back 50 years,bought my first honda in 1972.I am still a biker,now on my 25th bike
I´m deeply impressed. We all know the "restoration" videos where the main part is polishing and buffing all engine parts to a chrome-like finish and applying spray paint to the bare metal of the frame. *This one is quite different*.
This was a full engine rebuild with new bearings, bushings, seals, gaskets, piston kit, valvetrain overhaul, timing chain including tensioner and countless other new or refurbished parts. They even sprayed primer on the frame before spraying it with new paint.
The engine is basically like new. This Honda may not look as pretty as other "restorations", but it will be very reliable for many years.
Look, I´m from western europe, and even I would buy this Super Cub without hesitation, knowing it is in perfect mechanical condition.

Indeed, but it's also the prettiest you can get by using very elemental tools and lots of elbow grease. Superb job, it's not a restoration for showroom, but for a daily use. My kind of restoration.

When polishing, keep the piece oriented in the same direction and move the piece in straight lines. That will keep it from looking cloudy and make the grain of the metal uniform. Been polishing metal on the side for 15 years.

I did this with a 1971 Suzuki TS-90 (trail/street). I run it a few times each year in nice weather. Antique licensed and insured it spends most of the time in my 2nd floor garage-machine shop. Sorry I didn't make a YT vid - though I do have lots of photos along the way. A diamond disc cutter from Harbor Freight will cut bearings off real easy. Most of the work 80% is tearing down and wire wheel cleaning every last bolt and nut.

The bike is absolutely bulletproof. My dad used to have one I stole it when our 15-year old we rode it over the fields for 2 days solid. Through it and a pond. Went back 5 days after . And the thing still started. We could not kill it. Bikes today rely on too much technology. this is basic machine with basic components what does the same job as a complex bike. Why did they mess with perfection I love that bike. And ask for clean all the oil and the gunk of the engine components. You should have you sorted the mall in Pure petrol. Nice work my friend.. this back deserves a second Life

ha yeh they were great for fields wed take ours on pit hills in Yorkshire .used to sabotage my mates brothers so he couldn't take it to work ,wed then knock off school and rag his brothers bike to bits lol im 62 now but great memories ,Ant from Wales UK .

I've just bought a 1980 veg c70 fully restored paid eighteen hundred pounds for it these things are fetching serious money now I've had 12 Cubs since 1987 I paid fifty pounds for a c50 then them days are gone mine I knocked mine down from 2200 pounds worth every penny love them.

I actually couldn't believe, that the engine has a valvetrain. A serious OHC valvetrain in a 49cc motorbike! I'm truly amazed by Japanese engineering and what they were able to make in the era, when this bike was made.
I had one back in the day-it was fantastic-so totally reliable-wish I had one now!!!

They stopped making them because they were so good until electronic ignition problems started I had my dad's c70 in the 80s handle bar faring leg shields 12miles back and forth to work 50 mph worked out a penny A mile Road it every day for five years didn't put a spanner on it fantastic little bike used my cx500 week ends and evenings lol
