    You're absolutely right. Cats used to have a high pitch meow. Humans couldn't hear it. It usually ends in one of them smacking the other, either the licker cementing their superiority or the lickee rejecting it. But cats that are friendly will groom each other as well. If your cat licks you while you're petting it, it's mutual affection. If it licks you when you're just sitting there, it's dominating you. For the benefit of those who don't know (and there are several, so you're not alone, Robin), Glen Danzig is a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist who has been around since the early 80's. He started out as the vocalist and main songwriter for hardcore punk bands like Misfits, then Samhain and finally his eponymous band, Danzig. He became most popular as a solo act, recording for American Recordings (Slayer's early 90's label) and working closely with people like Slayer/Beastie Boys producer Rick Rubin. From what I recollect of seeing him in the early 90's, he has always been large and muscular. That pic you see of him is not a fake or filtered. That IS him.
    Oh; and the German word at 8:25 (the one Robin didn't want to butcher) means "affluent neglect", so the definition is correct.

  • @eptck
    @eptck ปีที่แล้ว +141

    robin is 100% correct on the cat thing . cats don’t mimic baby cries . really what cats do is , when they grow up around humans , they learn that most of us will not read their body language like cats would . they still want to communicate with us , though , so they learn to continue mewling like they did as kittens , because humans respond to that . cats are social animals ( as most domesticated animals are ) which means they as individuals need to be highly receptive of those around them . they aren’t meowing to manipulate you , but because to them , you’re their big friend with difficulty understanding their language , so they make moves to accommodate that

  • @Saibanaito
    @Saibanaito ปีที่แล้ว +38

    I have seen this "human baby cry" thing so often by now, that i have to say it like this. The meow's are not because they are mimicking human baby crying, it's because as a kitten, it's the way they communicate with their mothers, so practically you have an adult kitten, because it found out you respond to the same sounds.

    Concerning that one about rejection; recently, for the first time in like 3 years, I went up to a girl and tried to ask for her number. I wasn't being creepy, and I'm not that ugly. Just saying that for context. I was dressed well that day too. Anyway, I thought how bad could rejection be, right? Like at least I try and I shoot my shot. If I get rejected then it is what it is.
    Well... after I walk up, say, excuse me, hi. Are you single?
    She immediately stumbles away with an expression of horror and says "What the hell is wrong with you?" And tried to back up and just kept telling me "No. Go away." She was blocking with her arms and shit.
    For a short moment after that while I walked away, I was lifeless and wondering wtf just happened. After thinking about it for a moment though, I started thinking what a rude reaction lmao. Some guy works the courage to show you interest and you react with the most mortified expression. I mean, we could've been nice about it, we could've been civilised. "I'm sorry, I'm not interested", and I woulda been on my way. But instead... I got looked at like I was some sort of... insane person.
