I remember a lady saving my life at a wave pool. It was so scary.
one time I went to a Hurricane Harbor (swim park in texas) when I was at least younger than 13 I think. In the lazy river that goes around the whole inner perimeter of the swim park I remember I got into a really bad spot where there were so many people on tubes that I accidentally went under and couldn't surface again because the waterway was PACKED with tubes. I'll never forget the feeling of really really panicking in my mind about dying even as a strong swimmer. I don't even remember how I managed to get back up again but that is a core memory of mine even now and I've had a fear of drowning since. I still go swimming often, it's just when a lot of tubes are involved in small spaces I nope out
Same thing happened to me. I was like 7 and luckily was tall enough in the lazy river to reach the bottom so I just stood up as hard as I could and pushed some peoples tubes up/away with the force and they looked so angry at me lol. like bro sorry I was dying 😂

The ocean is full of sharks so not swimmable either. From reading comments it was a much loved pool till deaths happend.
As a open water Navy Search and Rescue Swimming, swimming pools don’t scare me. I jumped out of helicopters into the ocean with shark, barracudas, and other dangerous sea life. I’m also a scuba diver and my deepest dive was 143ft. I’ve dove the dam wall at Lake Travis near Austin TX, it was pitch black, that we put glow sticks on our tanks, and had 2 dive lights with us. I saw a catfish that was big as a Volkswagen bug.

Number 1 and number 2 terrify me just watching it. I won't even go on a balcony that's 4 stories or higher with my own family. The thought of that or just thinking of setting a foot in these pools (hell even the roof) is enough to almost paralyze me with fear. I have no idea why, I wasn't really scared of heights as a child, but now, if I even see someone in a skyscraper with floor to ceiling windows, I become paralyzed with terror.
Been staying in Singapore for 3 years and been to the MBS pool several times. First of all, there are no extreme weather conditions here. Second, if there were storms, they would shut down the pool before it gets serious. Third, there's a platform about 2m below the edge. So unless you're actively trying to jump down, there's no way you would fall off. And even then you'd have to be quick so no one keeps you from doing it. Ridiculous this is on the list and makes me wonder how exaggerated the "dangers" of the other pools were.

❓ I don't know why they call it the "pool of death". It's surrounded by soft, comfortable volcanic rock, and everyone knows that huge ocean waves can't hurt you, because they carry no energy with them. What's the worst that would happen, a huge wave slams you into the comfortable, soft, jagged rocks, which is like laying down in a comfy feather bed.... 😏👍

Although I love swimming, I´ve had some pretty scary bad dreams about pools in my life but this is definitely going to have me freaking out in my sleep
I remember this one pool at a campground in Utah. It was weird. Middle of nowhere. Black tile. The water looked too freaky to swim. This was twenty or so years ago.

The Kauai "Pool of Death" is also known as The Queens Bath. I went there & took on the challenge. If a person uses appropriate caution, it can be a lot of fun. There is another similar place on the north shore near Hanauma Bay. It was called the toilet bowl also the witches brew. I went there several times, loved it. People who did stupid things which resulted in injury & death caused it to be closed off. Kinda sad.

The red tiles effects on the huge swimming pool is awesome. After COVID-19 I Imagine that many people so close together is no longer allowed even after most restrictions have been lifted ? .
I Remember when i was in 4th grade i newly joined swimming classes, there were 2 coaches So the first one knew i was new and the other coach thought i can swim very well and at that time i was sitting at 6ft water so he pushed me to see if i could swim i was extreamly terrified i coudnt breathe and started shouting so after few minutes he took me out of the pool and then i started crying Like newbies first learn swimming in 4ft so That was the worst day of my time and i hate that coach from bottom of my heart thanks.

Looking over the edge of Victoria Falls, my heart almost stopped. And I was seeing it through my phone screen.

Once the Kalahari resort wave pool caused flooding in 2018 but it was fun to watch because nobody was there but the flood.
Tropical Islands, an indoor water park near Berlin, GE is really nice...great family fun.

I've been in the Sans Marina infinity pool in Singapore, nothing terrifying about it.
It was absolutely beautiful.
I also drowned in a wave pool w my family once and NO ONE NOTICED everytime I gasped for air I was hit with the wave and brought under again. I really fought for my life to swim to the later & I got so mad at my family for not knowing I almost drown! I was around 10
