Uh.... I watched 'The Boys', and Becca Butcher did not look like a woman who had just gone through a voluntary experience when she left Homelander's room. She looked pretty distraught.

And keep in mind that she doesn’t have any negative reaction when she sees Homelander again, she has more of a visible negative reaction over seeing BILLY again which muddled the waters of the story here.

A different one would have been Picard's interactions with Samuel Clemens, & the odd-aliens using 19th-century sicknesses to use for their benefits.
