Being a big fan of the Eastern Sierra, I really enjoyed this video. The Hope Valley boondocking area, where you stayed, is one of my favorites. In fact, I was there for several nights at the end of this September. I'm also a big fan of Silver Lake where you stayed. Safe travels in your new rig!
What a beautiful episode, salutations to my favorite YT couple 🥰. My favorite time of the year is fall 🍁🍂 there's just something about it that I just love, I really felt I was right there with you, in awe of all the vibrant fall colors.💗 Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful family & the adventures experienced on this journey. Looking forward to your new adventures on your gorgeous rig. Take care and God bless 💕 Yvonne🥰
@@FromShetoMe Good morning Debbie,🌞 I'm assuming baking, yes !¿! O'man your kitchen probably smells delish 😋 There's this YT that does ASMR and she's been baking & sharing her recipes for the fall, my mouth waters everytime I watch her😁... Anyways, wishing you and John a fabulous day!
Hello,Debbie and John Amazing again! Thank you for sharing...and Congratulation on your new van! ❤ LOVE YOUR QUILT ! Otter is still there above the dashboard. I love how you share your future new projects with us for your New❤Van
Today’s video was especially beautiful. We are long-time fans and look forward each week, but this week was even more precious and reflective. Your mood and headspace are very transparent. We so appreciate you and John’s work. This is purely my assumption, but even though John is funny and is your comic relief, I like to think of him as methodical and thoughtful. He’s a deep well. Thanks for your work.
Glorious views, love your selection of music. I still haven't seen the tour of your van and try to get stolen glimpse of it when shown, appreciate your learning curve in it. I look forward to seeing your home made upgrades.
Please let us know in a future video what your solution is on the food freezing in refrigerator in the back portion. We have the same issue ugh! It’s been extremely frustrating… thanks so much love your videos!
Next week I’ll show the fan I added. Helps a lot! We have a plug near by to plug it into but there are battery operated fans that run on 2 D batteries. I put it in the rear on the lowest shelf pointing up toward the freezer. Keep an open area on all shelves above the fan.
Thanks for the video. I see pictures and videos of all the fall leaves in the Eastern Sierras. I haven't been there during that time. Rock Creek has a special place for me. I camped there with my parents from the time I was 6 yrs old. I caught many fish in that creek.
Only been to Northern California once, and it was late October. Possibly my favorite place so far. Very nice video. You obviously put a lot of effort into your videos . Thank you😊
It's amazing what you can discover when you get off the main roads. We found Twin Lakes this summer outside of Bridgeport. Can't wait to explore Rock Creek Road next summer! Thank you 💐💐
Thanks for the pictures/video of the aspens! Missed them changing and quaking since I can back earlier….The new van is definitely longer than the Ascent…Lots of upgrades to get done, good luck with getting them done.
@@FromShetoMe Been there and not something I do now. Going to be a bit different than the ascent that’s for sure. Once lifted things like scraping should occur less.
Debbie, I'm enjoying watching your new RV being built...I am envious! However with all the mods you have to make...whew...it isn't easy to figure what to upgrade, and from whom (or I imagine, cheap either). However since you originally got the Pleasure Way Sprinter, you probably have been mentally tabulating all those miles, " the next time we get a RV van, we are going to get X, Y, and Z and not settle for factory spec components!" However in light of the new California clean air truck act that is going to be enacted soon, your new RV van maybe the LAST RV van registered in the State of California! 😢 Lucky for you and John getting it done just before the deadline!😊 I have been watching your channel for years thinking, when I retire, I'm going to get an RV van and do what Debbie & John are doing! But that dream is dying now!😢 What do you think about the RVs getting caught up in the clean truck regulations? I think it will be very bad for the RV industry, and aftermarket places like Agile may have to move to Nevada, or close down.
If you can find a copy of the regulations and read them, you’ll see that a lot of pundits are spreading unjustified fear because they don’t apply to us. So keep dreaming and you’ll be fine as long as you aren’t dreaming about a Tiffin.
@FromShetoMe From what I read, it seems the Calif. regs apply to vehicles > 14,000 lbs GVWR, which is more than a normal Class B RV van (approx. 9500 lbs, my guess). The Tiffin's...what so different about them? (I did go to an RV show, and looked through a couple of Class B Tiffins, and I thought the cabinetry a little thin, but other than that, they seemed normal?)
It is our understanding that It applies to vehicles over 8500 lbs (and you are correct, our van is approx 9500lbs) but Ford has environmental credits because of their mix of vehicles so they can still sell vans. I can't speak for the MB Sprinter. The regs were passed in 2020 so it isn't like the companies haven't known this was coming. RVIA seems to be pressing the panic button a little late, but either way, I have confidence that it will be sorted out.
Did you and John factor in manufacturer's environmental credits in selecting the Ford platform for your next RV? If so...whew, talk about doing deep research!😊👍
I love the Agile and Owl Van upgrades. On boat air is key and tire upgrades are awesome too. Congratulations on the new Van. It looks like a 22 ft model. Dave
This is so beautiful and you take us along seamlessly- I breathed in a felt a slice of what being there feels like. We have the same frig issue- with new electric frig, items in the back freeze even though temp is turned way down. Looking forward to your solution
I'm slightly younger than you two, and I twisted my ankle in the costco parking lot a few days ago just by missing a curb 😢 My ankle is healing but it reminded me that I'm not the youngster I used to be. It's just a story for the wise.
Hi Debbie and John! Love your channel, I have been following your travels for 4-5 years now. Curios how you guys like the skylight and which brand you installed ?
Funny you should ask. I was just trying to figure out how to fix the roller shade. The hatch is made by Lewmar. So far so good. But the screen is complete crap so will probably have to come up with something on my own.
Love the new van! Did you go with the awd transit trail? Also, being tall, 6’6”, it looks like you sleep North/south. How long is the bed? 80” 82”? How wide is the bed? Considering doing the same thing. Thanks.
Hmmm. It’s on the lift at Agile so I can’t measure it just now but John thinks it is 80” long. His feet can hang over if necessary. We are both side sleepers. While it isn’t as wide as the van, we occupy the width because the mattress is at the same level as the cabinet so our legs can sprawl. We both sleep so well in this bed. I highly recommend. We did not get the Transit Trail and I’m glad we didn’t because of all the mess around the recall.
@@FromShetoMe thanks for following up. We travel the 395 a couple times a year between our home in the desert and Bend Oregon. We also lived in Tahoe for about 15 years so it was fun to watch your video and see all the places we visit as well. Considering a van build and selling our big rv and our smaller pop up truck camper. Being just a couple inches taller than normal has me looking at the high top Ford as well. If you can pass along any measurements it would be appreciated. Enjoy the new van and I look forward to watching your build continue. Cheers, Jim
I know you’re not doing a van walk through yet but I would like to know more about how your bikes fit into the carriers. We also carry our e-bikes inside but your system appears more compact. Thanks
I camped at French Camp there at Toms Place for the night and did some pine nut collecting, found a lot and they were good(extra plump). There were a lot of deer at Convict Lake too, a buck bed down right next to my van which provided a shady spot for him. You just can't beat a Fall trip to the Sierras. Thanks for video, how's that "to do" list coming along. Have a good week.
Suggestion about the floor mats. We used the Ford mats because they come in 2 pieces. Weathertec is one piece which sounds like a better system but in fact it is much easier to clean the mats in 2 pieces. Loved the Blue 🐮n. (Moooon)
I have a question on the Moon Shade. I’m looking to buy 1 w/ the long moon wall for my Baja winter trip. Did you have any problems w/ the magnets failing? Thanks for the help. Dave
In a big wind, the magnets will fail. But the suction cups don’t work as well on our new van. In the Sprinter, I would sometimes double up and use both the suction cups as well as magnets. You need to verify that they ship with magnets because the second one we bought only came with suction cups. We are going to investigate adding a clip to hook into our roof rack.
@@FromShetoMe The magnets are extra and I’m buying those as well as the Moon Wall. Y’all put out Great info and the Videos Rock. You have editing Locked in. Congrats on the New Van & I plan on upgrading to the Sprinter 170 in 5-7 yrs from Outside Vans.
Do you carry small radios to communicate with each other while hiking? Do you carry an in reach type emergency radio while hiking? WOW! So many chassis upgrades! Will you carry the proper size jack and lug removal tool (power) to change a wheel? Do you carry snow tire chains? How comfortable is the new bed?
We carry a Hummer Jack. We used to carry an InReach but the new phones take care of that service now. We do not carry walkie talkies. We do not carry snow chains but now that we have an AWD vehicle, we may venture into colder areas in the winter. I would sleep in this bed every night if I could. Feels so cozy. The lift is absolutely essential because this rig drags on curb cuts. Can’t wait to take it out to the desert.
Is there an out of state fee at the campgrounds in California? Curious about them because so many states are now imposing fees making some just infuriatingly high. Look forward to hearing all your upgrades & tutorials if you are so inclined.
No, California does not charge more for out of staters. At least not yet. But as more and more states climb on that bandwagon, it may just be a matter of time. But I hope not. Fortunately, we have so many "federal" options that it gives people lots more options.
