I use voice clips from Colossus for various Windows notifications. Frees was the voice of John Lennon in the Beatle cartoons, but gave Lennon an Upper Class accent, which amused Lennon when he watched them years later. Frees was often used when they needed someone who sounded similar to Orson Welles. Frees was also the original Boris Badenov.

Also, his work on Frosty the Snowman (1969) and Santa Claus is Coming to Town (1970) for Rankin and Bass.

He also had a role in front of the camera on "The Thing from Another World". He was one of the clear-headed scientist who understood the danger posed by the Thing. He was also the voice of "the talking rings" in George Pal's "Time Machine".

Out of all his narrative work I liked The St. Valentines Day Massacre the best.

Paul Frees was a classic voice talent; not often seen on the screen. Only equaled, perhaps by the late Vic Perrin, the "control voice" from the Outer Limits TV series. Vic also did the intro narration for "Spartacus". Too bad Paul died before he even hit 70; I'll always remember him for the Saturday morning sci-fi cartoon series' that he did voices for. These guys will live for many years in the minds of those who remember them, but I doubt if I'll live in many minds for more than a few years.

His was the final voice heard at the end of BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES, after Taylor detonated the Doomsday Bomb: "In one of the countless billions of galaxies in the universe lies a medium-sized star, and one of its satellites, a green and insignificant planet, is now dead."

Ron Howard was interested in doing an up-dated version of Collosus, but it hasnt been greelighted.

Unfortunate expression he used in that Haunted Mansion clip, but it was just a common expression at the time. We’ve come a long way since then.

Yeah, thanks for pointing that out. I forgot to be offended.

Wasn't he the voice of the magic mirror from Snow White and the seven dwarfs?
