Thank you for staying on top of the mews for us! This is a very interesting and somewhat scary development. I'm shocked that the FTC let this happen. The book is great Dave! Thoroughly enjoyed it, and I appreciated the included "conversation starters!" The explanations of the oversight of 503a & 503b pharmacies was great also. Great job!!
Maybe this opens the door for new players to jump in and offer better alternatives. Bottom line people want to make money and not consider empathy of what this drug does for people. Maybe this could be a focus for some new proactive initiative and cut out some of the crazy stuff our gov spends money on, it can save so many lives. I guess we could focus on how to make a difference regardless of what these companies do..❤ Thanks for your amazing work on this Dave!
If the FDA doesn’t reverse its decision, compounding will soon be gone. Very sad to see what’s happening with these very necessary meds that few can afford.
Company insurance has no incentive to pay for these meds because people dont stay in companies for 30 years to see the benefits. Employer insurance is no longer a benefit. It is a hinderance to better care. Most people would be better off moving to the marketplace for insurance to get better and more individualized care for exactly what they care about.
I feel like im living in the upside down world. The end game is to end the shortage. Compounds are not affordable alternatives. Now what is the answer? That I don’t have the only alternative is employers covering these drugs. The price will not be going down anytime soon. 10 years at best. I have been in pharmacy for 25 years so none of this is new to me it hard for me to be attached emotionally. I understand you don’t care about any of that you just want your drugs but it’s not that black and white.
It’s about more than just the compounds. It’s about make massive companies more massive and allowing them to control and dominate one of the largest markets in the world.
@ come on Dave. This is America. This isn’t new and it won’t change in our lifetime. We need to get our heads out of the ( i will be nice) clouds. Lol.
I’ve been very consistent on this. I am all for the branded medication’s being the first line and for more access to the branded versions. But I am against monopolies and duopolies.

“GLP-1 Beer!” 😋
Sounds like a new side hustle, Dave!
Seriously, though, thanks for bringing us this news.
Thank you for this news Dave. How the USA allows so many monopolies is sad, then people wonder why prices are so high and will remain high.
Well i guess patients will move over to Tirzepitide compound, which it's been proven more successful than Semaglutide.

Are these acquisitions in the USA?
Catalent has a big presence in the US
this is good news, but maybe not for compound pharmacies.
In some aspects it’s great news, in others not so much

Having insurance attached to employment is dumb
monopoly
Everyone in this admin is asleep at the wheel.
It goes well beyond this admin.
Big Pharma - and the insurance companies too - are simply too powerful. 😒

@@ManOnTheMounjaro i understand and agree.
Sure it is disturbing for EL and you.
Lilly might have to cancel my yacht. That’s alright, I still have the first one. How many yachts do you have?
No one.
Oh, I believe it. 🫤
