Just picked on up a jazz chorus 40 this weekend. I only had heard of it the day before but it struck me so hard I went to guitar center and financed one lol. I pay $100 for six months and its paid off. But anyways it sounds perfect
Same here man! Love alcest, I'd highly recommend checking out the album "Melting sun" by lantlos. Awesome album, kinda album you gotta listen to from start to finish. His other stuff is alot more black metalish but Melting sun is LUSH
Loved this video!! Such a fun idea to look at the gear used on albums. Can’t wait for more in this new series and to discover some cool new gear! Wonderful playing as always.
When I saw Slowdive a few years ago Christian was playing into a JC120 and an AC30. A great setup that I use myself. I was at uni near Reading when they started but somehow managed to miss them entirely. Probably went to some of the same gigs in Windsor though. Slowdive was probably the first band to achieve any success that was a couple of years younger than me, so I saw them as a "baby band" at the time.
yeah, i think that was the set up he was using when i saw them a couple of years ago. i think jazz choruses, ac30s & fender twins are the holy trio of shoegaze amps - i guess you could add marshalls as well to that list, never been much into them, though they are from just up the road from me so maybe that will change!
JC 120's seem to work extremely well for effect players. I've used them for decades now and they never disappoint. I feel like they do all the stuff an amp is supposed to do to your sound without significantly changing it in an unrecognizable way. If you can get a sound together that you like from your pedal board alone, chances are the JC will make it sing.
Peace & Love from the U.S. and I just shared this video with a huge shoegaze fan. Good friend of mine. “Friend of mine” if you’re watching this and see this comment have a lovely day bud!❤️
Great tones as always!! I've never used a rat style pedal but it sounds super sick! I know sonic youth use them often. I like how the vid feels more conversation-esque as well. also the tame impala visuals were a nice touch ;)
yeah, we might do something like that at some point. please take a look at this video where we explored various space echoes th-cam.com/video/47AvKdRwJI0/w-d-xo.html
Anyone have an idea what settings they were using on the od 2? I own one and a rat and im always trying to figure out which is being used for the dirty guitar in "so tired"
Me encantan tus visuales, estaría genial que pudieras hacer un tutorial de cómo hacerlos, de cualquier manera gran video como siempre, saludos desde México, viva el shoegaze ♥️

I’d like to see you guys do a video about Blackgaze. I got introduced to Slowdive and MBV after I fell in love with Alcest
that would be fun to do some time! :)
Alcest!! Would Astronoid categorize as Blackgaze too?
Same here man! Love alcest, I'd highly recommend checking out the album "Melting sun" by lantlos. Awesome album, kinda album you gotta listen to from start to finish. His other stuff is alot more black metalish but Melting sun is LUSH

yeah, we might do something like that at some point. please take a look at this video where we explored various space echoes th-cam.com/video/47AvKdRwJI0/w-d-xo.html
I'm digging your guitar. Good choice on that one

Anyone have an idea what settings they were using on the od 2? I own one and a rat and im always trying to figure out which is being used for the dirty guitar in "so tired"
Although I love Pygmalion, Slowdive and Everytging is Alive, Souvlaki still is the best sounding album.
I'm a total beginner and English is also not my first language. I love your videos but I feel like my head is going to explode lol
