He isn't downplaying it. It's just SF6 is built for a dynamic fast-pace offense which matches his style of play which he acknowledged that it is his strength and Ken just compliments it. He can use an OP character like JP, but I don't think he'll find the same success as it doesn't match his style.

He's so humble! He was close in capcom cup last year and i was saying he carried his momentum to SF6 which he did! I always supported him so it made me so happy he achieved greatness 😭❤ he has a serious chance of winning CCX!

Very humble in recognizing that he was one of the few people with an optimized character. Still, very likely that he will get top 8 in all tournaments from here on. Top player in every sense of the word.
I saw Angry Bird during day 2 pools last EVO and he had this aura about him with a focused determination look in his eyes that immediately drew my attention in a large crowd of people. I'll never forget it.
How could you not love this guy?!? And I like how gracious Punk and Mena were after both losing to him in amazing sets. This was a great Evo for sure

Damn I love this generation of SF players. I love that Mena and AngryBird and BigBird are good friends. I love that intensity of the rivalries. I love the fire is only in the game. Love the passion and ferocity. The Bandits/NASR rivalry during SFL was incredible. Shoutout to Angrybird!

Super good insight! I enjoyed EVO SF6 a lot. Yeah id even agree at the time SF6 was still very new so i can totally see it. Ken is still pretty top tier but i can see how people didn't quite fall into characters like JP yet.

Now we just need more players asking for BO5/FT3, because yeah, the sample size in BO3/FT2 is too small. This game's faster than SF5. Let's do it.
In tournaments, I feel like to prevent flukes or random single poor performances things should change. In SF you only need 2 rounds, and best of 3 which is insane to me. Tekken at least is first to 3 rounds. For big events it should 100% be 3 rounds and BO5 if not even BO7.
@@razersedge2k974 You won't change the number of rounds in SF6 in competitive rules. Super meter and characters like Manon are tuned around two rounds to win a game.
@@gamelord12 Yea I know and your point is totally valid. I fully understand the game is created and balanced around two rounds. I guess my hope is that in the future things are setup up in a way to create skill edge more pronounced by balancing it around longer games where people can use skills like match up knowledge, tendency reading and mind games to make the game more interesting and complex.

SF6 gameplay really does matches AngryBirds' offensive playstyle. The new dynamics like DR, Ken's forward sprint and lack of neutral/footsie game in this version also hurts the competitiveness of old school players, creating this gap for offensive players to dominate. But, we will see if Capcom chooses to balance the game out or put their cards all-out for this style of dynamic play.
Was a priceless experience as a first timer to Evo to see a fellow Muslim North African take 1st place from the arena. I'm a fan for life of both Angrybird and Evo. Mattered a lot to me.

Of course there was a gap, Angrybird played the cracked game that leaked. Day one of release he knew all the conversions, combos, framedata, etc. People used to watch his matches to learn Ken back in week 1. Im not saying he's not super good, because he is. But he did play the cracked game a lot and that definitely helped by a huge margin. Everyone in the FGC knows this.
He didnt have game before he would have been banned after capcom put the statement out. The proven players were mena, chris t and punkdagod . They all had if on there stream. It wasnt hard to crack it was already a beta out lol. Angrybrid probably did have the crack version but so did everyone else. Anyone else was banned passed

Ask all players if they play the cracked version, and if so, for how long? I didn't and so I'm curious if any did or will admit they did. Otherwise I'm okay for them.

Funny how almost no one mentions that, before the official game release, Angry Bird and many other already had thousands of hours of play time under their belt, playing the cracked version....

Angrybird there was no proof of him. He didnt excel at beta tourneys. Chris T , punk, menaRD all 100% played cracked. But im sure all the players did at some point

People saying angrybird had the cracked verisoon have no proof. We know punk,menard and ChrisT 100% had the cracked version becuase chrisT admitted to it atter winning 4of4 beta tournaments and taking the money. He also is menaRD teammated. Angry bird beat all the players who had the cracked game
It’s probably just me, but about five minutes and 30 seconds into the video there was only one thing that bothered me. He walked up to the TOs and asked for his match to be moved up…. if everyone is able to do this then I’m cool with it but I’m sure that’s not the case

He's speaking the truth, it is a well known fact that Ken is no longer considered the best or even top 2. You're just stuck in that mindset because you hold a grudge with Ken prob. He never said Ken is bad, just that people have optimized other characters and now they are shining over Ken, and that's true, competitive nowadays is Luke left and right.

The real reason that he took evo is that he had a six month head start on the competition. I'm not saying that he isn't a good player, but he's definitely not in the same league as the greats. We can see that now that everyone has caught up. He's lost all of his matches in C cup thus far. He hasn't proven anything yet.
