Facts. People don’t even realize they’re brainwashed into following consumerism trends. Companies don’t give a damn if you actually look good they just want to make sure what you wore last year is no longer “fashionable” so you’ll buy more shit.
So basically, don’t be afraid to follow trends that you like but put ur own spin on it at some point. Be it with your base fashion sense or mix and match existing trends, make it your own.
Everything is cyclical, I haven’t changed since the early 2000’s but since everything is cyclical I can just say I’m avant-gardiste or retro. Can’t lose if you’re playing both sides.
Can you do a video on fashion for muscular people? Because I will never wear a stringer or anything super revealing or attention seeking. For pants we are limited to XXL sweats. It’s hard to find a fit when your legs are 27 inches and your waist is 28 inches. And for tops it’s basically just t shirts (no long sleeves)/ oversized shirts that cut of the circulation to your arms. Flannels, coats, (edit:anything not tailored basically) or jackets never fit either. I’m tired of dressing like John Cena. I have no idea how The Rock or most NFL players are semi fashionable.
Lebron is built like that, he dresses well. Obviously he's not hard up on cash, but I'm sure there are some fits he's rocked that can replicated on a budget.
Christian's mullet is actually looking really, really good. I don't really know any people who love fashion in my personal life. As a man, it's hard to find people with that same interest, and it can get pretty expensive with designer brands.
Only love here but watching you toddle through the grocery store in the kiss shoes was the high point of my day. I'm a woman and can't really walk well in heels, seeing men struggling with fashion too makes me feel like we are all trying.
I will say in terms of the point of the video trends do help me find a a branch or like part of it that I genuinely like that isnt necessarily the trend item or style in question Basically follow trends they do help :)
I like fast trends, more for me to take inspiration from and actually get mileage out of. Of course we get the bad with it, but it's quite cool when certain things go into style and get made in a lot of different versions by all sorts of people, then you wait for the hype to die down and hit up outlets. or you wait for cheap stores to jump on it so you can take things you love from there.
I try not to pay to much attention to trends because I love kinda do my own thing and I’ve never really cared but I mean taking something that’s already done and putting my own spin on it is something I’ve been trying lately and it’s been working out pretty well so I’m gonna actually give some trends a try and see what happens
hey man, i love your content and its actually helped me get into style a lot. can you please make a vid about styling in the summer because a lot of things i see have sweaters, hoodies and pants and its been around 90 degrees outside for me the past few days and have lost all of the style ive accumulated
im going to be honest. I dont think you said anything of substance in this video. You just said the same thing over and over but slightly different. Its like you were plagarizing but trying not to get caught.
I try to find “timeless” pieces that would never go out of style so I can still be “in the trends”. Saves me the money and I don’t have to throw them away 🤷🏻♀️
Yeah like letterman jackets, leather, jeans, solid color shirts, crew necks etc. Once you have your base fashion of timeless pieces, u could shuffle it up with more trendy stuff if u so please.
If yall are into competitive stuff, make trends a fun competition for urself! For example: 1. There's this cool jacket u like but everyone and their grandma and 12-yr old little brother Timmy is wearing it. Wyd? 2. Now's the time to give up, right? Like ofc u don't want to wear that jacket since now that it's a trend it'd look lame and unoriginal? Nope, wrong answer! 3. Instead of styling the jacket like everyone else or completely giving up, make it a competition! Who can style the jacket in the coolest way? Is it little Timmy from the downstairs apartment? No, it's you! Get that jacket and make it yours by styling it with your own cool spin on it! Like, have some confidence bro! U rly gonna give up that easily?
Aye been doing this wit sneakers since I was kid everyone would wear their new release sneakers the next day after copped but I would wait a day or two after coming up wit a clean ass fit, been doing this alot more since sneakers got more popular the pass few years
"trends are bad. theyre good actually. you can wear them. but i'll judge you" "trends are inevitable and you will wear them" oh how the mighty have switched up
Feel similarly about Kanye’s music. Sometimes he bites trends but he does them different, nuanced or whatever, incorporates trend elements but gives them his own twist
I buy 90% of my clothes from the clearance section at any store. I have purchased socks for $0.99, a tee for $1.46, pants for $1.97, a bag for $5.00, a Blazer for $6, and a coat for $12.00 before. All new, too.
i personally dont keep up w mainstream trends because i am into otome kei, lolita & kawaii styles. like i still see mainstream trends no matter where i go but nothing really catches my eye unless i go into those jfashion circles, mostly because i am attracted to bright colors and patterns and i dont feel like current trends reflect that
I think is okay to follow a trend for some while if u don't have some sense of identity in expressing youself, but some point you need to truly feel free in the clothes u wear. If you don't and follow trends I think is okay.
Never cared about trends even tho I care about how I look. But trends tends to create clones everyone got the exact same piecies of clothes during a certain period of time this is ridiculous.
The reason why people hate new style/fashion is because humans hate change. When it's something you don't see often or don't associate with you tend to first go for negative thoughts. I personally don't like it but its probably just self esteem as with everyone else.
So basically birds of a feather flock together still applies, just this time you get more choice of your feathers but expect to still be judged even if you try to wear stuff that isn't trendy.
I theorize that we're currently going through a minimalist era of fashion. Right now everyone is into rick, arcteryx, miyake, undercover, which I think is in part a reaction to the extreme maximalism of the late 10s. From about 2015-2019 fashion was all about logos, branding etc. The zeitgeist at the time was very loud, garish and branding heavy. The supreme x louis vuitton collab was one of the biggest moments of the era because these hideous jackets with supreme and lv branding all over them were basically national news. Now we're moving away from that era and entering a more muted, simple era in fashion. Which will probably last a few years before people get bored of it and maximalism is back in.
That was streetwear. Minimalism and quiet luxury have been a staple in general fashion culture for decades. Logos and graphic tees will come back but a white tee will never be out.
the profit himself dropped another meticulous video. Vansatthemetgala really changed my life for the better. Good video, I like fashion but I love music even more, & I think alot of the stuff you say in your vids also apply to music which makes them so interesting
Lately i have been liking the John Denver middle America look. A stainless steel 1911 makes a good hip accessory with the outfit. I also like surf/skate clothing. Im torn

Meeting someone through a dating app is not worth it. Maybe just for a casual hookup but not for a long term relationship. The main difference is the algorithm does the matchmaking. Falling in love is like helping a random person who dropped their bags in the street, meeting them randomly, out of chance and then suddenly ‘falling’ in love - hence the literal meaning of the verb. This is what dating apps misunderstand about love.
The fundamental problem with fashion trends is that they perpetuate endless consumerism which is both bad for your wallet and for the environment
