I'm just 16 minutes in but the difference is striking. From overwhelmed with work, physical symptoms and looking like you're on the fast track to a burnout to having faith in your abilities and seeing options. It seems you've shifted your mindset a lot and that it's having very positive effects. Your grit will carry you through. A lot of people would never go back after an injury like you had, or would give up instead of treat the mildew. You have what it takes to continue creating a good life (and career) for yourself and your family.
Most definitely build your own door! It’s super satisfying to walk through a door that you built yourself, and it’s also a fascinating side of woodworking. The joinery and methodology to take wood movement into account + make it art is awesome.

The door issue.... what about a build out? like a small mud room where you just frame a whole new opening/door on the jettison? Nothing fancy, but mud rooms are a plus - even if it is rather small - heck.... just leave the decking structure as the floor & cover with OSB then a vinyl stuff that can get wet/muddy.. 2 cents to ya bud! I don't normally comment but I have been watching your videos since I had COVID in 2020. I wanted to give you something to look into that may help you with your front door. You should look into mobile home doors. They are usually shorter than a normal house door and I think that might work perfect for you. If you do go that route, just make sure you get a house style and not one of the out-swing ones that look like an over glorified camper door. I hope this helps and Get After It! :)

If you feel you need a second helping on the vinegar fungicide operation, mix in a couple of drops of peppermint oil to repel the rodents... and it smells nice too... Also I find mixing coconut oil (the solid one at room temp) with peppermint oil and setting a small jar of the mixture in key locations like a food store or locations where you think a rodent might nest and/or store food, you can ward off said rodents from doing so, especially if your jar has like a couple of small holes drilled in the lid so the peppermint smell does not evaporate in a day or two...
I framed my cabin door opening super wrong, too haha. I found an old solid wood door at an architectural salvage place and trimmed it to fit. It was already short, so it was super cheap.

RE; the door.... grab an old one from a reclaimed store. one that is solid wood. cut it down to size using replacement casing you can get from Lowes. It will be a nice look to the cabin

We had the same issue, our door opening was also too low. Instead of paying 400$ for a stock sized door we had to pay 800$ for a custom door. A $400 mistake I'll never forget. Was worth paying for a custom and not having to screw around trying to retrofit an old door.
Dude, you could probably get a 34x80 prehung door, disassemble the frame, trim an inch or so off both top and bottom of the door, trim the jambs, and reassemble everything as long as your careful with the material of the door you choose. Some might even have a tolerance that you can trim off the door. Just saying. Give it a whirl.
Would you consider using an old (old, old) door? Loads of character, easier to trim and fit. Put you up a screen door and bob’s your uncle. Greetings from Memphis

You can get a custom height door made or cut a prefab one down but I think you're perfectly capable of making a nice heavy wood door yourself too.

Think I would have bevelled the top edge of the horizontal trim between upper and lower windows about 5 degrees, to help shed water. Looking good.

There is a lot of blurring in the video of in your walk through the property. Is it the camera? Was the lens wet? Do you need a camera upgrade?
You can special order a 78 inch door it will just take a few weeks to arrive
