    Taken from iFlight's Facebook Group:
"If you get Jello on your helion please make the following changes to your PIDs page in betaflight. So far this has fixed everyone’s problems. It appears the problem is their is slightly too much P term on the tune to compensate for all rigs in our default tune. So far this has fixed all the issues on every drone we tried with jello.
Change your Damping slider (D gains) - to 1.5
Pitch Damping (pitch, roll D) - to 1.0
Pitch Tracking (pitch, roll, P,I,& FF) - to 1.0
    Master Multiplier - to 1.7
Change your Iterm relax to 5 (from 8 )"
Hope that fixes the jello problem if you have it!

Ok, I'm going to be really honest here. I was the first to receive Helion and flagged the LED shorting issue against the FC, hence the taping fix and then the new LEDs. I will say, right from the get go, that I absolutely love this quad, despite its bad press on some forums. Many of us have provided valuable feed-back to the passionate team at 2Raw and iFlight and changes have been made.for he better. Josh and the team at 2Raw continue to provide updates so Helion matches Betaflight releases.
Mike, your flight tines -- 15-30 mins on that sized lipo is BS. That may be so for a Li-ion pack, but not a lipo. I fly Helion with a 6,000mAh lipo, and I push speed. If I get 8-10 mins max that's a good flight. Regardless, I always love your passion for what we do, and I'm pleased you like Helion. 🙏❤

You should use a li-ion pack if you are really trying to do LR. a 6s2p pack will get you much longer flight times than a lipo, from 20>30 mins. samsung have 21700 5000mah 35A cells. I think 10inch is much better suited for these packs as my 7" really falls outside it's efficiency window while weighting 1.2KG, i struggle to get more than 30mins of cruising.
When you do your LR test please take a similar 7inch drone to compare and do a head to head., that would be really useful for people considering which size frame to get.

      I have 6S4P 12,000mah 18650 pack I use sometimes on 8"
      Do 6S4P 16,800mah or 20,000mah
Pretty sure it can do heavier but packs get so big

Ive gotten 20+min with a 5200mah 6s lipo on my 10in... its more flying conditions than anything. LIon are not as good for high amp draw, so if you have to fly into the wind you may not get any better flight times.

I have some questions about what remote and goggle combo I need to use for the new Helion I just ordered.
    Here’s what I have:
    - DJI FPV Goggles V2 and DJI Remote Control 2 (Came with the DJI FPV Fly More Combo)
    - DJI Goggles 3 and DJI Remote Control 3 (Avata 2 Fly More Combo)
I purchased the Helion 10 with the additional ELRS 2.4 receiver and a Commando 8 Remote Control.
I know I can use the DJI Goggles and Remote with the Helion 10 as it has the DJI O3 HD Air unit preinstalled. However, if I use the Commando ELRS remote with the ELRS 2.4 receiver, which goggles are compatible? Can I use the DJI FPV Goggles V2? Or do I need the DJI Goggles 2? Or the DJI Goggles Integra?
If I decide I’d rather fly the Helion 10 with the DJI Goggles and Remote, do I need to disconnect the ELRS 2.4 receiver or can I just link the DJI Goggles and Remote to the DJI O3 Air Unit?
Thanks in advance for the help!

    • @DroneSupremacy

You can use all the goggles you mentioned, they're all compatible with the Helion (with O3 unit inside)

And to your final question - yes, you need to disconnect it.

However, when I’m using the ELRS 2.4 Receiver with the Commando 8 remote, which goggles do I have to use to be compatible? I assume the DJI Goggles 3 won’t work. Can I use the DJI FPV Goggles V2? Or do I need to pick up a pair of the Goggles 2 or Goggles Integra? Or is there a better brand that would work better I haven’t mentioned?

Good review and nice to see some channels reviewing. I bought a helion and have been enjoying it so far. Have seen the jello and it’s definitely more shaky cruising compared to my chimera 7. What’s your thoughts on the 55amp esc in such a big quad? One of the flights I did was a heavy headwind coming back and was having to push it hard. Was seeing 55-60amps and was starting to worry about popping the esc

Long range is not legal anywhere in the US. You must have LOS with the aid of any magnifying device. You can use a VO but must be able to communicate directly with them without using radios. Thank the FAA coming up with the BS rules and the community for being to lazy/afraid to do anything to fight them.

@@Zeaiclies I mainly freestyle my 9” and 10” quads and I can tell you from personal daily flying them that they are no way near as maneuverable, nor as nimble as a 7 inch, they are, however very fun and impressive to fly. And just like a muscle car, they haul, but on a straightaway and they do sound and look sweet. But no, the best 10” quad will never out maneuver, the best tune, 7 inch quad, as even tuning is an issue with nine and 10 inch quads and a limitation of prop choice, along with the limitations of the tune you can get out of them.

    • @scottgivens27
      @scottgivens27 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@Zeaiclies Many things are possible through technology of course, but in the current drone community we lives in, more focus has been put into smaller drones than larger
At the moment the tech is not there for off the shelve 10" drones to out perform of the shelf 7". Especially when it comes to this drone. The only difference between the He lion and the I flight Nashik 10 V6 that I have, is the frame. The motors, electronics and tune are the same across the board, and its not designed to be as maneuverable as a 7" because the market isn't their for designers to focus on that performance.
At the moment, there is no propeller, frames, nor motors designed to eliminate noise on larger quads in general. That noise makes pushing large quads to perform and be as maneuverable as smaller quads is challenging.
From my findings and from what I've seen and learned from tuning large quads, for the smoothest flight to reduce noise, you have to reduce the PWM frequency down to 16 from 24. It makes and reduces a lot of the noise, but a vast reduction in maneuverable flying.
Maybe Chris Rosser will come out with a frame and motors to solve these issues. Lol

7 inch LR Drones are not that efficient? Not that fast for a long period of time? 10 inch much more agile in the air? Are you really saying to compare two machines with different sizes and construction is a fair comparison? If you think so, It follows then to compare a Ferrari and a school bus is okay.
Could you please support all these statements with a side to side comparison by specs and actual flight under the same conditions?
10 inch drones are beasts, however size comes with a lot of tunning issues, read comments below from some other viewers.

A 10 inch drone is faster and more agile than a 7 inch drone? I'm sorry the math doesn't math. I like this drone and I want it but let's be real.
The best agro flights aren't done with a 10 inch drone. The most racing that is done with a drone is not done with a 10 inch drone.
The only thing that is done with larger and larger props is long-range for the efficiency not for the speed not for the agility. Just for the ability to navigand high wind situations And carrying the weight of a heavier battery.
Physics say that in order to be agile you have to give up some stability. Much like staying on the balls of your feet in sports allows you to change direction easily but it renders you a little less stable than stayingfirmly planted with your feet down. 10 inch props are all about stability.
Physics also says in order to go faster you must reduce as much weight as you can thereby using the available power for propulsion not for lift.
Come on guy this is science make the math math

@@DroneSupremacyFull watch and great review. I’ve noticed many comments on the iFlight FB group talking about the same things you did…. The shell and antenna. I am still on the fence on purchasing this drone. Not sure if I would get much use out of it in NYC, due to its size. Only when I go further up north to the Catskill mountains could this be handy. The price point is a bit high in my opinion, but I totally understand with inflation. Looking forward to your long range flight and additional thoughts.

Lat, long and altitude OSD but no distance display for a "ultra long range" drone. I don't know why the hobby grade dudes have bastardized the term long range to suit their own purpose.

Check out around 13:20 to see the detailed OSD that's available. You can clearly see distance there.
