With all of the tedious and unintelligent tripe available on the multiple tv services, this one is a constant. Such credible, intelligent people doing great Friday nights. If only half the world were this intelligent!! Love it. 33 years means something!
One of my favorites episodes ever of the show (which, I realise, is a very odd thing to say considering the news...). Richard and Steph? Yes, please! I had not heard of Jamie McDonald but I'm glad I know of him now. Thanks Viva for the upload and thanks HIGNFY for helping me patch my fraying sanity.
Jamie McDonald is often on the bbc radio 4 (original) show The News Quiz. Or was it on the radio scotland version Breaking the News which is very irreverent. 😅
Jamie McDonald has been on many episodes - good value. A lot of great presenters this season - Richard always good for the dry wit. Loved the episode with Bill Bailey…I’m waiting for Victoria Coren -Mitchell to pop up
A good host and a couple of good guests and the show demonstrates why it's been going 33 years. Wish they could get guests like this every week. Note: There won't be a HIGNFY next week because of Children in Need (it's a lifestyle choice). It will be back the week after.
I don't know if that's a joke that's gone straight over my head, but there are bits from the standard show that don't make the cut in the longer version?
I'm just catching this now after the "Monday Massacre". Why are all the news outlets all Pikachu-faced at Braverman getting sacked? But oh man, the return of Cameron has me DROOLING for next week's episode.
Suella and Rishi slouching next to each other like that look like a brother and sister who are in trouble and know what they’ve done wrong but don’t want to admit it.

I find it bizarre that people are saying Biden is too old for office when Trump is only two years younger than him... If he gets reelected, Trump will be older than Biden was when he was elected.
For such a visual show, this isn't the first time they've had a partially sighted guest on - why don't they have some sort of audio description for them? A small earpiece would be easy enough surely?
Homelessness always goes up during a Tory government so I think it's really weird that it went down during Theresa May, and yet her team never really mentioned it
They should have made some of the questions a bit more accessible, relying on the screen meant Jamie MacDonald couldn't participate. Why get a disabled person and then not accomodate them?
I wasn’t aware that cruella would need to be sacked by the prime minister to make a run at the top job, seems like an odd rule to have, but I live in Australia so it’s not that strange or unfamiliar
That camping ban story hits home(lessness) here in Austin, Texas where a few months ago a similar ban was reinstated after the number of homeless people in tents got so large that the only other potential solution would be to change the abbreviation of City Of Austin from COA to KOA. (I apologize if that joke doesn't translate overseas -- which I'm certain it doesn't, since KOA is literally the abbreviation for Kampgrounds(sic) *Of America* Foundation!) And speaking of things that don't translate, there's actually a large complex in South Austin called the Canvas Apartments that rents 1-2 bedroom units for $1000-1200 per month. Those prices are fairly reasonable considering the current market here, but not for someplace with a name that sounds like it's a euphemism for "tent city"...
A massive thank you to ViVaHD
For pirating copyrighted content?
@@Phreak0matic eh, TV has always been free where I'm from so why would I start paying for content now? 😅
@Phreak0matic Maybe but I can't watch in Canada without VivaHD so I'm happy
With all the horror in the world, it makes me very happy when Paul makes Ian laugh. Simple pleasures etc.
I have COPD and when I laugh I nearly

Yeh they never fail to entertain! I'm always hoping to see Richard on Big Fat Quiz. Anyway, fav HIGNFY for me has to be the one with Chris McCausland.

Excellent episode! Richard Aoyade and Steph McGovern are both great!
I watch these throughout the day while exhausted from burnout. Helps me fall asleep and informs me on UK politics lol. Thank you.

Richard Ayoade is a national treasure and should be entitled to say ‘And that’s not boasting’ after introducing himself at the start of the show.
Richard Ayoade is the best host for this show. Love his wit.
They cut out the best bits from the first showiing! Ha
Always love Richard Ayoade.
He is superb here, interspersing the script with his own added humour and he's great with it.
I liken him to the great Angus Deayton.
which bits?
I don't know if that's a joke that's gone straight over my head, but there are bits from the standard show that don't make the cut in the longer version?
That's why I skip the short version.
Thank you so much for posting HIGNFY I am so thankful, I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't watch Ian and Paul!
Richard is a treasure 💕💕
Well done whoever does the closed captions on this. "gradual laughter", etc.
I love how Ian always _gestures_ at Jamie to help him understand better (ex., at 40:52).
"With her husband and teeth-whitening buddy." Excellent. Edited to add, "that looks like two Norwegians fighting over a sponge cake."
I can't help but laugh each time Ian starts describing photos with hand gestures.
He's an expert at sign language, he just hasn't worked out when to use it.
Steph squirming after the Schofield joke was quite funny
Thanks Viva for posting! Great show, fantastic crew this week!
Thx for uploading full version 👍
Finally Ian, well done you.
Nah…must be a miscount 🤣

I have met Peirce Brosnan, and he is an extremely nice guy, and very humble.
Hence why he was insulted that the art gallery were charging 500 quid for VIP tickets. He wanted to meet everyone, not just people who can afford it.
Nice one 👍

thanks ViVahd! Remembrance week, Ian and Steph looking very nice.
🎉Brilliant❤
[much love and thanks to ViVaHD]
Richard Ayoade is an excellent host for this show, in the vein of the brilliant Angus Deayton
It was a shame Angus was sponcered by Coke.
7:48 Half-blood prince joke was brutal
Bit of an oof, and a bold choice to make in front of Richard. Providing there's no editing shenanigans, he really didn't seem to appreciate it.
YES! I'm gunna save this for after my working day, thanks ViVaHD, I've got something to look forward to (great for my mental health).

The misspelling is a lot older than that, it was likely medieval monks that made the mistake
Ayoade is perfect for this

Well, Trump has more staying power because if he gets dementia no-one would notice.
Not the years. My parents and my in-laws are the same age. In-laws are in a retirement care home. My parents are seldom at home.

Ian and Duncan Smith is trip down memory lane.
Hilarious! :)
To my Yankee ears, titles like "Shadow Chancellor" and "Shadow Minister" sound so sinister!
And quite right too…
39:25 I love that Paul does these jokes where the only real audience is Ian. I mean who actually knows F. R. Leavis?
I love this too, even if it does cut against Paul's man-in-the-street persona versus Ian's supposed out-of-touch-Oxbridgeness :)
He was a literary critic. 1950s 1960s whose philosophy relates to real life events. Quite deep
