This show isn’t as well known here in the states, but I dare say everyone who does know about it absolutely loves it. It’s top notch content and very funny.
Definitely the thing I’m most grateful to TH-cam for is making it possible to watch overseas content I otherwise would never see. This is truly great.

I've learnt a lot about British politics and in the most enjoyable way. When interested i can google a name or event. Same with Colbert and Kimmel and Meyers for US politics. I'm Canadian so fortunately, generally (excepting crazy To mayor, the late Rob Ford), our politics are relatively boring. Proud to be in a country where the liberals are usually the winning party in Federal and Provincial Elections, and occasionally it is the farther left party, the New Democrats, who win a provincial election. The interplay of the weekly panels with free commentary each week gives credit to open democracy. Unlike other places in the world, the people, free press, worldwide audiences, this format provides entertainment based on the reality of daily life. With some of its absurdities that inspire thought and laughter, the comedy of this show makes a weekly joy of life out of those global absurdities.

The show where Paul Merton had the news of the world on his t shirt showed perfectly why Deayton couldn't continue. When the joke was turned back on him he had no defence. If he took the piss out of a member of the panel all they would have to say is look at what you've done. Show would have been killed stone dead. I was sad to see Deayton go and any other show most likely he would've continued as host. The style of this show meant here it would've been impossible.

Bloody hell I was only three when hignfy started. Avid private eye reader too now. Now we just need people to stop caring who they think is right and start prioritising what is right.

Well that made me feel old. I remember the first programme. Now I have to view on TH-cam cos it's not shown in Canada (more's the pity) and still love every episode. I remember that this series gave me my first taste of Boris, I disliked him then and dislike him even more now. But generally happy memories of the show.

51:44 - oh Good that William Shatner song had me in stitches!
I imagine myself in Andy's place!
    You're starting to hallucinate...
You're seeing William Shatner is sitting beside you...
And then he starts to sing...
And then William Shatner winks at you!

    • @rogerlundstrom6926

Curious: Where have Brian Blessed NOT been amazing?..
((NOT that I say he ALWAYS fulfilled expectations, but.. his presence ALWAYS added something.. and I BET it added something even IF he ever did anything that would've KILLED any show.. Tbh; Even if those are NOT related, I ALWAYS think of the Frankie Boyle joke: "Sorry, son, we didn't realise you were a schizophrenic. We just thought you were a bit of a character. ".. In regards to Blessed.. I am CONVINCED.. he has a character that he wants to be portrayed as.. ))
