The program has been going since 1990 and Ian Hislop hasn't missed an episode. Paul Merton has only missed a few, usually because of illness like 'flu. It's been hilariously funny ever since it started.

A good few years ago a couple of friends from the Middle Temple Treasury took Naga out for a celebratory meal as she had passed her law exams with flying colours. For some reason I was invited and I remember what a shy friendly young girl she was. I hoped that she would survive in the cut and thrust of law. My words of advice were along the lines of “You have to prioritise yourself”….who the hell I thought I was to advise someone like Naga will always remain a mystery to me! Good luck to her and good wishes from days gone by…I’ll just carry on litter picking for a living! 🙄🤣
