The only one i wanted to see was luke! So my parents waited in line with me for hours! My heart was broken! So for the next 3 years i dressed for holloween as vader! A 3 year old little girl vader! But i still loved luke the best! My parents loved telling that storyyl

      I'm 3 years younger 😊 The first film came out the year I was born, Empire when I was three, and Jedi when I was six. I "technically" saw all 3 films when they were first released, in that I was physically present, but ROTJ is the only one I consciously remember seeing in a movie theater... it's actually the first movie period I remember seeing on the big screen.
      I was born and raised in the fandom, it's almost like a religion to me 😊
      Your story is disturbing. Hamill has the reputation of being one of the most fan-friendly members of the original trilogy cast...
      I wonder if the convention itself had regulations that prevented him from giving you that kiss...was it just you that was snubbed? Did he kiss or otherwise physically interact with other children? I doubt you were the only child there waiting to meet him...
      It just doesn't sound like something the Mark Hamill that I've read about would do: Deny an adorable little girl who'd been waiting for hours a simple cheek kiss from her hero?
      I don't doubt your account in the slightest, I just wonder if there was more to it...
      Was the younger Mark Hamill different in his attitude toward fans than he is now?
      I agree that this should be brought to his attention. I doubt he would remember the exact incident, but once brought to his attention, I'm willing to bet he'd regret that it went down like that.

      I remember we were the last in the line to meet him. I have no doubt he must have been very tired! Mark hamill does so much for children! It probably was a rule they had. Just getting so see and meet them was one of those life moments you never forget!

      @@christinestevenson4304 It's great that you're able to assume the best of the situation ❤️
      A lesser person might have spent the rest of their life telling people:
      _"Don't believe the hype--Mark Hamill is a dick who hates children...I know from personal experience."_ 😝
      I'm not a celebrity, but I imagine that one of the downsides to having fans--especially fans as devoted as the SW fandom--is that the littlest things you say or do can end up affecting a fan for the rest of their life...for better or worse.
      Like with your situation: As I suggested, after nearly 50 years of being Luke Skywalker, I doubt Hamill remembers this specific convention--not in detail, anyway....
      ...on the other hand, you're going to be telling this story until the day you die. I know I would😁
      I'm just happy that you tell it so positively...the fandom DESPERATELY needs more of that sort of attitude.

      I blame Obi-Wan. He had only just been knighted himself, and he had no idea what he was getting into by accepting responsibility for the training of such a unique Padawan.
      Someone older and more experienced should have taken the job: a full Master.
      More than a few fans have suggested Mace Windu as Anakin's ideal Master.
      Not only was he more mature and accomplished, he also had a lot of experience with balancing his own inner darkness, as shown by his mastery of Vapaad: a controversial form of lightsaber combat that draws power from strong emotions. Very few Jedi practiced it, and many Masters believed it should have been outlawed.
      Master Windu could have taught Anakin to control his feelings, unlike Yoda, who told him to ignore them, or Kenobi, who was too blinded by his emotional bond to Anakin--who became the brother Obi-Wan left behind when he was sent to the Jedi Temple for training.
      Windu would have maintained the proper Master/Apprentice level of distance, and wouldn't have lost perspective.
      Obi-Wan was a good friend...but Anakin needed a strong Master.

    It was explained in the duel between Vader and a younger Obi Wan that Vader chastised Obi Wan for his "weakness". And the comic explained it was the same weakness Palpatine saw in Vader after his personal mission. But the saddest part was when Obi Wan apologized to Vader: "I'm sorry Anakin, for all of it". Everything Anakin went through, separating him from his mother, his troubled relationship with the Jedi Order as a whole. Becoming one of the greatest heroes of the Jedi since Revan. All lost because Anakin wanted to save everyone.
    But instead, destroyed everything he touched. IMHO Anakin suffered so much from unrelenting expectations. He touched greatness, he became the hero the Republic at the time needed. But SO MUCH was expected of one simple man. He was husband to one of the most powerful figures in galactic politics of the time. He was on his way to becoming a Jedi Master if Ashoka Tano had not left the order. Just so many expectations placed at his feet. Living up to his legacy. Who could actually blame him for what in some ways his own actions and choices made him?
    The Sith created Anakin, and the Jedi destroyed him. Is this the fate of any chosen by prophecy?

    • @negascoot23
      @negascoot23 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You might say the Sith created Vader, but the Jedi destroyed Anakin...
      He was already well on his way to rejecting the Jedi even without Palpatine's influence:
      The Order's failure to support Ahsoka probably alienated Anakin more than any other factor...
      It showed him how hypocritical and conditional the Jedi's loyalty to their own really was during that era.
      The Jedi had lost themselves in their new role as the Generals and Commanders of the Grand Army of the Republic...
      They were supposed to be a balancing influence, a check on the power and authority of the government...
      ... instead, they became that government's weapons--tools subject to the whims of politicians.
      If he hadn't turned, it would not surprise me if Anakin would have left the Order on his own.

    • @deathstrike
      @deathstrike 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@negascoot23 And if you really examine the evidence, Anakin would have had every right to feel the way he did. I get a notion that part of the reason Yoda exiled himself to Dagobah, was a sense of guilt. That he and the other masters let Anakin down. Anakin did so much for them, but they stuck to that endless mantra of the Jedi Order. The same goes for Obi Wan. He lost SO much, his master, the woman he truly loved (Satine Kryse of Mandalore), his friend and brother Anakin. He is another example. So is Count Dooku . He abandoned it as well as he saw the Jedi Order's hypocrisy. After all these high profile betrayals and losses, as you said the Jedi were no longer peacekeepers, but becoming politicians and helping to ignite the fire that would eventually become the fire that forged the Empire.
      So I agree with you. The Jedi had become just as destructive as the worst the Sith had to offer. No longer a beacon of peace and stability so desperately needed, but a devastating army who even in modern writing still echoes with their failures.

    • @negascoot23
      @negascoot23 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@deathstrike The insane thing is none of it had to happen...
      The only reason Palpatine's plan worked is because the Jedi took on the roles of Generals and Commanders for the clone army immediately... with seemingly no real debate or discussion, and with apparently no serious objection from any of the Jedi.
      This was a red flag in itself. An issue like this struck at the very heart of what being a Jedi means. It should have caused a deep and serious schism within the Order...
      Overnight they went from Mace Windu stating: _"We're keepers of the peace, not soldiers..."_
      ...to the entire Order basically saying:
      _"Oh, we're the military now? Really? Whatever..."_
      And NOBODY thought that was a little out of character?
      Granted, Yoda pointed out that the defeat of the droid army at Geonosis was no victory... but from everything we've been shown, he didn't do anything to prevent the situation. He didn't refuse to participate in the war, and he was Grand Master of the Order...who could have forced him?
      You might say that the clone army needed experienced tacticians to lead them in battle... and I agree.
      But the Jedi wasn't the only place to go to find people with military experience:
      There were the Republic Judicial Forces, for starters--it's where future Imperial officers like Tarkin and Yularen, and future Rebels like Dodonna began their military careers. This was the small, mostly defensive force the Galactic Republic employed before the Clone Wars. After all, somebody has to fly the Jedi to their missions.
      The Clone Wars series shows the Judicial Forces in action, and they seem competent enough...no reason why they couldn't have led the clone army.
      Perhaps you might think the Judicials lacked practical experience, since the Republic had been at peace for so long...
      ...fair point. Okay, then go do some recruiting from among the hundreds of planetary defense forces that nearly every member world possesses. Like Naboo's militia, who we saw in action in The Phantom Menace.
      Planetary defense forces get a fair amount of battle experience fighting against pirate gangs and other underworld threats.
      And after being granted Executive Powers by the Senate (thanks, Jar Jar), it would have been within Palpatine's authority to conscript planetary forces into the Grand Army of the Republic.
      My point being, the Jedi were NOT needed to run the clone army...Hell, they shouldn't have been ALLOWED to run the clone army. Was there not a single Senator who saw that as a potential conflict of interest?
      Not saying the Jedi should have sat out the war, I'm saying they should have played the roles they were meant to play: as mediators and diplomats, only showing up with lightsabers ablaze if the Sith were on the battlefield.

    • @deathstrike
      @deathstrike 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@negascoot23 One Senator comes to mind, Bail Organa. Possibly Mon Mothma. But it was the failure of the Senate itself to adequately maintain and continue at least a well trained and well staffed defense force. They believed to their detriment, that peace would always prevail due to the sheer numbers of the Republic worlds. And what of Carida? One of the premier Military Academies supposedly only to the Empire? (In its defense, Palpatine did take it under his immense wing). The academy didn't produce outstanding officers? I agree that there were "many" sources outside the Jedi Order to find candidates for leadership.
      Hell, why didn't the Alliance try to convince Thrawn to join their side? One of, if not THE finest officer the Empire ever produced!! He only wanted to make sure that his people (The Chiss) were adequately protected. The only reason he joined the Empire, is because he felt it was better equipped to handle future threats. And sure enough? He was right! The Yuuzan Vong War ended up leveling a third of the Galaxy's populace. But the Republic desperately needed that kind of leadership!! The Jedi were probably just more "convenient" as they were headquartered on Coruscant.
      But you bring up an important point. Why didn't Grand Master Yoda nor Master Windu openly admit the Jedi are NOT soldiers? They are advisors, diplomats, and peacekeepers. And while they are more than capable of being on a battlefield, it should have been the LAST thing they considered. They are like the Knights of the Renaissance Period. They manage forces, but entrust their forces to Sergeant at Arms for their training, weapons keeping, and readiness. But as a rule, Jedi do not keep their own forces. Only maybe guards. It should have been up to the "Army of the Grand Republic" to insure mission capable leaders, competently trained soldiers (not just clones), and ships and technology.
      Wow, the more you look into it, the more you begin to question how such an immensely old and powerful governing body like the Old Republic survived so long? Perhaps Bail Organa was right, even his own homeworld of Alderaan had grown soft. Their weapons of mass destruction had been buried for too long. And because of that, the Old Republic fell with only a single vote. Thanks Jar Jar!!! (Hope you really are a Sith).

When Anakin fell into his location, the intense heat immediately roasted him and his clothes caught on fire. So the same should had happened to Palpy. While he could prevent the intense heat from burning his skin, his clothes would just fired up very quickly. To make it funny, with his cloak on fire, Palpy would try to roll on the ground to stop the fire only to roll into the lava roasting him alive until the lava consumed him.

    The problem with any popular franchise such as Star War is. Anyone who owns the rights, pays a license or royalties fee can make up any number of arks or story lines and sell them to the public. Disney pretty much killed the original story line and made their own Star Wars which everyone by now knows, very very poorly. So Star Wars has all these different story lines like Canon etc. So now the story is what you make of it. For moi never read the comics nor follow the Disney trilogy. So Star Wars ended with ROTJ. I do enjoy prequel or sequel shows like Rogue One, Bad Batch, Rebels, Clone Wars and Mandalorian etc. But none of this 1st order, Kylo, FiN or Ray etc. Though the rolling robot was the one and only memorable character in the whole Disney film series.

    Could have been padmes relative or sister anakin did meet padres parents so vader shud av recognised her.
    Ps this scene were vader sees the cribs and padres giving birth shud av been ending of part 4 so would have made sense how vader knew he had a son in part 5 or beginning of part 5

    So its first action was to desecrate its wife's tomb? Murder her followers. All of this so that it could shift blame for its own actions onto someone else? Seriously the only time I ever had any respect for Vader was when he admitted to not being Obi-Wan's failure, that he was responsible for his own actions.

      He would have. George Lucas said that after his injuries, Darth Vader is 80% as strong as the Emperor. If he hadn't of been injured he would have been twice as powerful as he was..so much stronger than the Emperor.

    Once again, this video proves the utter creative bankrupcy that is "Disney canon". This story is just derivative Prequel nostalgia bait. The part where Palpatine drags a suited Vader to the lava bank and burns him again is HILARIOUSLY bad. This story is on the same magnitude of awful as the Obi-Wan disaster of a show.
    EU Comics have much better stories.

      Those EU books were straight fuckin trash and you two know it. No one even cared about them until disney took over and now suddenly it's time to pretend like there were good stories from the EU

      @@decker.2425The upvotes got you beat. As someone who grew up with the EU, it was considered canon by all, and loved.

      The comics are part of the Disney canon. Honestly, Marvel’s Darth Vader series is one of the best aspects of the Disney acquisition, because Marvel’s writers have a bit more slack to fill in the blanks than the showrunners and movie screenwriters do.
