I have spent weeks trying to figure out if I had relay problems or starter problems or rectifier problems. Just watched your video walked out to the bike and it started instantly using your method. Genius! Thanks for the vid!!!
Thanks for the info, i was on a camping trip on my scooter and thought i was doomed i did this and it started no problem. The one time i was like 20 miles from the nearest town and my shitty luck something had to go wrong lol thanks buddy.
You don’t even know how much you just helped me! I’ve replaced my stator and rectifier and still no start, I was about to order a starter too when I saw this video and tried it and boom! All I need is a starter relay
I was shown this about 40 years ago & used it quite a few times with My old 1985 Harley Softail Standard, but now with My 2015 Heritage Softail Classic, I'm yet to find the starter relay, if it indeed has one, My owners manual doesn't even mention anything about it, so it either hasn't got one or else it's well hidden, but if it has got one, it would make things a lot simpler than always having to take the seat off & get a jump start from somebody whenever the Bike won't start.
Brother, my motorcycle starts when I connect the battery without the key on. The ignition is off, and it starts and also no display on the speedometer. What's the problem you have any idea?
There known that chaf wires on the. Clutch cable, frame, on the necks behind the ignition switch. Causes bare wire exposed. Then the power supply when key turns, does nothing. Common issue with 2001-2005 wire harness on the VL800' s. All they needed was extra inch of wire at each connection. Saves stretching, rubbing wire issue.
This worked for me. Once it started I took it for a 30 minute drive. But what do I do next to ensure I don't have to do this every time I start my bike?
I got same problem but i change my starter relay and swtich even my whole harness now i still got that problem sometimes my bike starts fine. Then to drove it around the town and when i got home the nxt morning i start my bike my starter wont stop spining even in shut off my bike then i disconnect my main battery and i get it back again still wont stop please help
It could be the fuse, or the start or itself, the clicking is the relay receiving power (that means the relay is receiving power but it might be damaged and not completing the circuit, so you’d have to test the continuity with a multimeter). Also the fuse could have blown, most motorcycle relay caps (on top of the relay switch) there is an extra fuse, maybe try switching it ?
Does Your Bike have a security system with an alarm & a security fob? My 2015 Heritage Softail has & I've found if I get that clicking sound, especially after I've had the battery on charge for a few hours, it's usually the size 2032 button battery in the security fob that is at fault, as soon as I replace it the Bike usually starts first time, it's recommended that the button battery in the security fob should be replaced at least every 12 months, I hope that this helps if You have such a security system on Your own Bike.
@@jmvneto51so from my experience with dealing with this multiple times and in fact rn as I search and crawl for a last second solution. It usually stems down to either the starter as a whole, the ECU or a random sensor. Pretty sure all of which suck. I've dealt with it constantly. And then you come to the very end after replacing all that. Just to realize it was literally just the damn battery... Check all those and then no idea. Probably seized the engine. Learned myself that one the hard way unfortunately. 👀😮💨
I have an 05 r6 went to replace the rectifier and stator after I put it back together it just keeps blowing the fuse on the starter relay just from turning the key. I’ve back tracked everything and there’s no grounded wires. Never had this problem before all oem parts. Any help would be appreciated
Check the wiring to relay, if it's secured then check the starter relay fuse. The rating of the fuse cld be lesser then required for the cranking. Maybe that's wad causing the fuse to blow. Find out the fuse rating from the bike manual. Possible u can try a higher rating fuse so that it doesn't burn right thru
@@voodoo_child5897 I ended up fixing it. I had to hard wire a hayabusa rectifier straight to my battery and the stator. Was recommended by a local shop. But it worked
Hi just a quick question. The relay clicks but engine doesn’t start. Strangely, if I flick the relay engine cranks and starts. What would be the cause for this? Thanks!
@@VarSVat I tested the relay and other components related with ignition. I found the problem with mine. It was at the plug from the voltage regulator. 2 of the jack pins were oxidized. My solution was to cut the wires and tie them directly, some black tape over them and that’s it, at least for now
It could be your starter button on your throttle side. Throttle side, the Spring is not allowing the connection within the starter button. So you have to replace the whole housing. I'm having that issue with my t. L 1000.
