Spain is a country we don't know well enough. We've certainly never been to Asturias and Galicia. But we'd love to go to Santiago some day. Great to see in your video what else is out there. It looks beautiful.
I live in Asturias and our arms are open to all those who want to visit us and enjoy this unparalleled paradise, also unknown in the rest of the world, tranquility and a fertile land where if you want you can live off it and the peace of mind of caring for your animals and your family friendly environment. Thank you for making our little haven of peace known.

I was in Navia, Oviedo, and Luarca in Asturias In summer of ‘74. It was amazing. My paternal family had a large farm and he had rabbits and beautiful bulls. I loved that farm. We had our own Chapel and still a huge palace. We had to use bed warmers to warm the beds because they were so cold. It was August and it felt like late November in NY. It was so lush and green. My heritage is from there.
Angel Blanco That is incredible! We used to use hot water bottles for the beds as well, haha. I really hope you can return soon! Having your own chapel is amazing.

But as much as I like tourists to come, I dread seeing the beaches crowded with them, as our mountains already are. All my hope is in the rain and the education of people like Dane and Jillie.

Beautiful video. What a great experience to have been able to live there. My wife and I have a 2 week trip planned this April to travel across northern Spain, starting from Pamplona and driving west across Cantabria, Asturias, and Galicia. We have been there once before, almost 7 years ago, part of a much broader around Spain road trip, so we only spent one night at a rural hotel on the coast of Asturias going between Santiago and Bilbao. It was incredibly beautiful. Of all the places we’ve been to in Europe, this region is the one we most wanted to go back to and explore. If you have any suggestions or recommendations for places to see, particularly more out of the way villages and back roads of I would be most grateful.
Hi guys! Your prior roadtrip sounds amazing. We would recommend visiting Taranes and the entire Ponga region, Posada de Valdeon, Potes and Fuente De, and Llanes on the coast. 😁 Cangas de Onís is a nice central point.
Yo naci en Palencia, Castilla y León, pero tengo sangre asturiana por parte de mí madre, mis abuelos eran de Asturias. Yo vivi una temporada en Mieres con mí tía y primos. Me encanta Asturias.
My ancestry on father’s side is from Asturias and there’s a fishing village with our family name. That’s definitely my first trip abroad after COVID travel restrictions are lifted. I would love to visit those mountains and river as well as the coast. Asturias looks so beautiful and peaceful. I was already going to go, but your video made me even more excited to visit.
@@daneandjillie9803 Well I’m finally planning a trip to Asturias first week of September. Hi, Loved your video. Travelling solo through asturias in July and would love to do the walk along the Rio Dobra! Could you let me know where to start?
Hi Bobby! I'm sorry it took us a few days to get back to you. So from Cangas de Onis you drive back along the river Sella to a restaurant called Restaurant Puente Dobra. It is amazing to park there and walk from there or you can drive that dirt road back along the river Dobra and park next to the stone barns before the road turns into a foot path. Have an amazing time!

Hi Tom! I truly think that this area is one of the most magical in the world. It is also extremely affordable. For us, our overhead there was very low because we did not need to pay for accommodations and we grew most of what we ate. It is also smart to look into farms to volunteer on which would cover most costs. Now a days, we still travel very frugally. We save up and then pay as little as we can so that our travels can last longer.
