    Good stuff! I have that Wayne pump as well but have yet to use it. Have you noticed any issues with the pump inlet hose (not sure what that blue hose is in video...light or heavy duty) collapsing from the pump suction? I've also heard "non- drinking water safe" hoses may degrade and break down eventually clogging filters. The user instructions w/ the Wayne pump recommend using a HD garden hose(on inlet side only) as not to possibly collapse inner hose liner, but nothing about drinking water safe??? Dunno myself, thought I'd throw it out there. Super helpful video for me right now as I'm familiarizing myself w/ my XeroJR/pump set up!!! Do ya think dialing down the (quick connect shut off) on the carbon filter inlet would allow for adjusting pressure if it was too crazy high? Thanks for putting this together Steve! I look forward to your content always & a most sincere congratulations for the birth of your Son, you're a solid American👍

    If I am not mistaken that pump is cast iron. It will rust and leak into your filters. I would recommend the wayne PLS1000 1HP pump. It will not rust and ruin your filters. Correct me if I am wrong. Its been a while since I looked at that style of pump.

    You should add a tank in that van for pure water! I took my Reach IT Flow Blue and keep it in the shop w booster pump. Make my water at home to keep it consistent and run into tank in the back of the truck. It is nice. I got 40 gallon and carry a few 7 gallon jugs if need be but generally enough for couple houses and more or big jobs before i go home and make more. I love being portable and just unrealing the hose and fliping a switch .

    Can you use this system with a gas pressure washer?

  • @umbrellahole
    @umbrellahole 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I got a question for ya. Can/should you use a DI tank only filtration to bring your TDS down in 200-300 TDS water areas for traditional bucket and a squeegee water with soaps and glides to make it harder to see any imperfections does it make it harder to see imperfections, can it help newer employees make less noticeable mess-ups as they learn? (Its like maybe 50 cents per gallon then like goes down to less than 25 cents per gallon after refills unless my math is wrong)

    • @SteveOthewindowcleaner
      @SteveOthewindowcleaner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You definitely could do that in areas with extreme hard water but since your removing the water from the glass with a squeegee I wouldn't sweat it

    Hey Steve O, hoping you can provide some insight on that 100 maximum psi recommendation.
    So I got a sprinkler booster pump from harbor freight. When plugging the psi gauge to the outlet port of the pump (which is hooked up from sprinkler spigot), the gauge goes from 55 psi without the pump, to 110-120 psi with the pump on.
    My flow has 2.5x'ed from 0.7gpm before, to just around 1.8 gpm with pump on, plus my TDS has gone from 22 down to 9!... I'd say the RO membrane is operating considerably better with the high pressure. I looked up the Axeon HF-5 that I used for my build, and the spec sheet says optimal psi @80 and maximum psi @400
    I hope that I am correct in assuming my pressure @120psi with pump on is ok.

    • @IndyPhil26
      @IndyPhil26 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You will be fine as long as your housing is rated for that PSI. That membrane ran at 150 psi for two years. Found that to be a ideal range for performance. Now I run a membrane that is rated for higher pressure. I run it at 180-200 psi and it removes even more solids than the HF5. On 500 tds I get 3-5 tds just from the RO. I hardly ever use DI filters.

    • @SteveOthewindowcleaner

      No, the RO won’t produce enough to keep up with the booster pump. So you want to push it through the ROs

    • @SteveOthewindowcleaner

      150’ to 200’ of 3/8” hose from the system to the pole with about 50’ - 60’ of pole hose

  • @gaberubalcaba9000
    @gaberubalcaba9000 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Steve. At what point, distance, Elevation do you recommend adding a booster pump. Like how many feet of length? I want to get into cleaning solar panels on carports for commercial businesses and some of the water spickets maybe 150+ feet away from the panels. We get pretty good pressure here in Phx but just in case. I have the "on the go" spotless DI system right now. It seems to get pretty good flow for now. Thx

    • @SteveOthewindowcleaner
      @SteveOthewindowcleaner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would add one for 4 stories and up but with DI only adding a booster pump can mess up the purification process so I only suggest boosters with RODI systems

  • @jamesw.3491
    @jamesw.3491 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I run a Wayne pump like this on my filter system daily. One thing you forgot to mention was you MUST flush the pump head with water BEFORE hooking it up to your filter. Those cast iron heads rust, and the rust if not flushed from the pump, clogs filters.
    Secondly, running this booster pump PROLONGS the life of the RO filter. Low pressure kills a RO filter faster. The RO filters in these are meant to run at up to 100 PSI. The Wayne pump you use (and so do I) puts out up to 80 PSI. IMO the Wayne PC4 is the only 110 Volt pump worth messing with for these type of filter systems. Other booster pumps don't make enough pressure (or sometimes too much). IMO, the biggest benefit is the longer life span of the RO filter. Makes everything run better, and lowers TDS out of the RO. In turn, that means you are using less DI resin. For me, in a super HARD water area, this saves me a lot of money.

    • @SteveOthewindowcleaner
      @SteveOthewindowcleaner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This pump doesn't push out 8o psi, maybe with the source pressure plus the pump, but this is rated at 40 psi as listed on our website, if you want a pump that can push out those levels you can check out this booster pump from tucker windowcleaner.com/tucker-110v-booster-system?pt=MY

      What do you mean flush it? Turn on water spigot without the pump hooked up to RO system?

    • @IndyPhil26
      @IndyPhil26 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@jacobtaylor8205 He means hook up the pump to water. Keep the outlet hose disconnected from your RO machine's input. Start the water then start the pump. Let the pump run for 30 seconds dumping water into the yard to wash out any rust that would of clogged up your filters. After that initial flush now connect the pump's output to your RO system's input and begin making RO water.
