I just love that we’ve got a more realistic and a more cartoony life sim game being worked on at the same time. Hoping their mutual success is great and opens the door for more niche life sims
The scene at 13:00 is in my opinion the MOST important aspect of a good life sim, believable yet somewhat complex interactions that result in interesting changes. The sister getting embarrassed by her brother and mother having an argument within range of the other family is PERFECT. If they can find a way to make some of these interactions have lasting affects is will make things way more interesting and make each PARA unique.
Yeah, as we move closer to release we're going to hopefully see a wider range of emotions and interactions between Paras, and it's gonna make for an interesting game. I was really happy when I first saw the negative emotions (anger for the mother, annoyance for the brother, sadness for the sister, etc.), because you can't tell stories with only highs. You need lows.
I also would like to bring up the point that patreon posts like this only go live months after their initial posting so that they’re patreon exclusive for a while. So this is older news to patrons and they’re even further along in development than it may seem to those who aren’t subbed!
Probably. Honestly, I think both of the games are going to effectively together put sims in hot water, they're similar but very different at the same time, inzoi is for people who want realistic graphics and would rather install graphic mods and textures that make sims 4 more pretty and realistic, where paralives is for people who like having a more cartoony style game like what vanilla sims is, if both keep adding content to the base game that makes it more appealing than the bleeding cash cow EA did with sims 4, then people won't really have a reason to want to keep playing other than loyalty or nostalgia. (Unless people sunk too much money into it and don't want to abandon ship for that reason)

@@JFairy189not only that, they've shown us in project Renee mecanics we've seen before in paralives, like them modifying the bed size by dragging from the edges to make it look wider or thiner. Plus, color wheel. ( Wasn't new because of sims 3 but the thing that they decided to bring it back just hits) it feels like they are implementing what Paralives does because they are aware that the paralives team actually know what the players want so, "let's do it too." Plus, I don't now why but the style of that video showed a style that came close to paralives cartoony style and not like the sims 4. I find all of this very amusing, like they are trying to copy them.
To answer your question based on the uploaded youtube video, no the grass is not just a single size no its not just an illusion. I didnt see a slider for it (which im fine with) but if you look in their yt video of them making the outside area there, they do have different types of grasses, sizes, and colors. The wild flowers are also in that. This is way better than we've gotten before with sims
I'm most looking forward to Inzoi, but I'm also excited for Paralives. My only drawback with Paralives are the paras (personally, I don't find the paras good-looking) but that's what CC is for. I hope mods can give us some nice skins overlays and masks.
I imagine changing from the art style with cc would make Paras look crazy against the rest of the game’s style…this game is so incredibly stylized that using something realistic would seriously stand out.
@@xoxo_noethe Paras already look crazy against the art style of the game… the paras don’t match the world. They need to be more 3d and smoothed out and less pen to paper cartoony
@@Imperialscorpio that's an interesting take and I can respect that. @xoxo_noe I mean, as the op said, that's what CC is for. You can just get CC to change the rest of it, too. I personally dislike the art style too, (it reminds me of free Blender assets 😂) but I do think they are going for something different, and I can appreciate that.
I really, really love everything they are doing.. It feels like Paralives will be a delight to play in both build and live mode. Absolutelly a needed step away from the Sims for me
I agree because gameplay is first followed by how a game looks esthetically. Cartoonish looking games aren't particularly my preference but I know it's a thing for some. With life simulation games you should at least have a choice in game to choose which style to play in, which I believe Inzoi will have..
I'm really excited to be able to expand the town size, I think it'll make build a city challenges really interesting and fun, or just expanding the town!
The more I hear about Paralives the more excited I get! I don't really care for Inzoi, like, it looks cool, but it won't look like that on my pc. And I prefer the more cartoony style to the ultra-realistic one, it's just more forgiving and less likely to go into uncanny valley territory. And I love that I'll be finally able to build my real life house accurately, which is impossible in Sims 4 because it's partially under ground. And also because Sims 4 has no "normal" windows. Only a few of them look openable, and most of those are sliding windows. There's only two or three windows that look like they swing open to the sides, and not one of them is just a simple frame with two glass panels, they all have some extra shit. I just want normal windows! The many different windows in Sims 4 that are just solid glass panels that can't be opened make me wonder if Americans just don't have openable windows. Like, do you even lüft, bro? (little German joke) Sorry for the window rant 😅
Americans don't open their windows as often in my experience. Probably a mix of us having more ac and less functional windows. Like I've heard yalls windows open multiple ways and some get like pitch black? One of mine doesn't open lol
The more the dev team work on the parafolks design, the more i see a resemblance with Borderland and The Walking Dead game. They all share the same cellshading style, which is such a cool style if you ask me!
As long as the Paras react like normal people and don't constantly try to insert themselves into each others lives I will give it a try. I hate, hate, hate the Sims 4 cooking animations and all the "quirky" shit that goes on. It is supposed to be a "dollhouse" game not a crazy stuff whether you want it or not. I love the town building idea. I wonder how easy it will be to do various decades as I like the Decades Challenge a lot (such a nightmare in Sims 4).xxx By the way what was your other channel called, the one about trains? I wanted to check it out to see what sort of things you like about them cos I live in the UK and we have some amazing Transport Museums. I was thinking of sending you some postcards of steam trains (there is one near me that travels through the Cairngorm mountain range super cool) but if you don't like steam trains there would be no point! xxx
Personally, I prefer the art style of Paralives over InZOI. I've always hated Alpha CC for the Sims and InZOI is just an entire game like that! It's too uncanny valley! I'm a Patron of Paralives and they are really putting so much care into it. I can't wait to play it!
The great thing about inzoi is that they have a filter to have this type of effect as well. Not a fan of the uncanny comment 🤷 however we shall see if this game will be competitive enough to the likes of sims
My god the sims 4 clearly set the bar so tragically low. This game looks awesome, and it makes me think about how the sheer size of the sims franchise and their revenue, there is no excuse for their terribly bad products. people getting excited that the game just functions correctly…. Like no outdoor grass clipping inside. This has been done already, the sims just went from one of the best games ever to a total lazy rip-off
Honestly, I am way more excited about Paralives than InZoi. It just feels so much more cartoony and fun. No hate to InZoi, but it looks way too realistic for me, to the point where it feels uncanny. But the style of this game is just *chefs kiss* . In my humble opinion of course 😇
11:14 I think my main issue with the art style is they need the skin tone and object, color sampled, and then have a dark approximate color which they kind of do what they need to lighten up the lines of the skin or objects, subtler will be less distracting.
I feel like I am at peace with life sim games now. I have the sims (I will still play 3&4), paralives and now Inzoi. Life simmers are eating good finally 🤭
I’m still so hyped for this game. I see a lot of people excited about Inzoi and I just can’t get behind that one. I think Inzoi has some glaring issues that people don’t seem to be acknowledging but this, this I’m excited for
What I'm hoping to be able to do from these terrain tools is replicate how my old flat's building was built out - Making it so the front entrance is a floor higher than the back door to the property, with the downstairs from the front entrance is around street level with the back of the building. (I mean, I'm hoping to be theoretically able to do that, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have the patience to do it unless the tools are approximately 'the best terrain editing and building tools in any game')
Im so excited about this game. The first thing I’m gonna do when I get the game, is build fnaf 1 I’ve built it in every game that gives you the ability to build so far so I wanna keep that trend going
Paralives is the future of the life simulation genre (or InZoi for those who prefer something more realistic). EA shot themselves on the foot by deciding not to make a Sims 5.
I'm probably gonna really enjoy making landscape designs in Paralives; seeing that there's a brush for 3D flower fields and grass is really cool! Putting grass in Sims 4 just to get something similar to 0:48 takes forever 😅
The grass reminds me of ZooPlanet grass placement. Low grass, tall grass. I've already uninstalled all my sims 4 stuff to make room for Paralives and Inzoi. Am so excited for Para!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The moment this game went live, i will be spending all my money for this game. I don't care how expensive it would be, the amount of care they put into this game is worth every penny

@@JFairy189not only that, they've shown us in project Renee mecanics we've seen before in paralives, like them modifying the bed size by dragging from the edges to make it look wider or thiner. Plus, color wheel. ( Wasn't new because of sims 3 but the thing that they decided to bring it back just hits) it feels like they are implementing what Paralives does because they are aware that the paralives team actually know what the players want so, "let's do it too."
Plus, I don't now why but the style of that video showed a style that came close to paralives cartoony style and not like the sims 4. I find all of this very amusing, like they are trying to copy them.
@@momark88Funny thing that, I'm personally more inclined to support an indie game like Paralives than Sims or Inzoi. Indies have their fans
@@momark88 lol you are a bitter person
Seems like this tech could be turned into grass growing and lawn mowing.
I was waiting for this video lol. I was about to comment about how much stuff paralives released since your last video
The motion sickness kicking in after the loops of pixel zooming 😵💫
To answer your question based on the uploaded youtube video, no the grass is not just a single size no its not just an illusion. I didnt see a slider for it (which im fine with) but if you look in their yt video of them making the outside area there, they do have different types of grasses, sizes, and colors. The wild flowers are also in that. This is way better than we've gotten before with sims
i love the style of this game. i cant wait for the game to be released
My heart melted when I saw that grass with those beeeeeautiful orange, yellow and lilac flowers! 😍🥹
I am personally excited to actually be able to build a house into a hill. I was always so annoyed with the Sims 4 that the terrain was always flat.
Whilst im really looking forward to InZoi, Paralives is the one that im more excited about. I can't wait, it can't come quick enough for me
I'm most looking forward to Inzoi, but I'm also excited for Paralives.
I love the style, but I can see where you're coming from and if that's what you'd prefer then I hope they make the mods you'd need to get that look. Personally, I'm so tired of keeping up with mods and downloading mods and dodging paywalls, and I love the style so much that I'd be happy playing with little to no cc.
Absolutelly a needed step away from the Sims for me
Ive always wanted to make my house in the sims but it never looks right because its 1/2 underground, cant wait to try making it in paralives!!
I live in a fucking mountain side 😂 only in sims 3 there was one lot kinda similar but it looked away from the road so not really the same
I don't care much about art style. If it's a really good game and it works, then that's good enough for me 😊
exactly artstyle is the easiest to change with mods
I agree because gameplay is first followed by how a game looks esthetically. Cartoonish looking games aren't particularly my preference but I know it's a thing for some. With life simulation games you should at least have a choice in game to choose which style to play in, which I believe Inzoi will have..
Love the grass texture
(little German joke)
Sorry for the window rant 😅
Americans don't open their windows as often in my experience. Probably a mix of us having more ac and less functional windows. Like I've heard yalls windows open multiple ways and some get like pitch black? One of mine doesn't open lol
I'm very excited for the release 🙌🏻
THE GRASS MOVES???? AAAAAAAAAH AND ITS 3D?????? AAAAAAH
Terrain sections expansion reminds me of Cities Skylines area expansion
omg the way the grass paints in 3d is so cool!!!!
The underground houses feature is going to be so good for people who want to create hobbit houses
The interface gets better and better
Omg, I'm going to make a whole village of hobbit houses this is so cool I can't
I love what they have added! The Ability to expand the town over time, really has me excited!
I’m not that big into the art style but I’m looking forward to the game. Love the 3D grass and how the houses cut into the hill.
The more the dev team work on the parafolks design, the more i see a resemblance with Borderland and The Walking Dead game. They all share the same cellshading style, which is such a cool style if you ask me!
Paralives looks so cute
PARALIVES IS GOING TO HAVE A CREATE A WORLD TOOL?????? JESUS. how does it feel being the best life sim game to come huh paralives
I wonder how easy it will be to do various decades as I like the Decades Challenge a lot (such a nightmare in Sims 4).xxx
By the way what was your other channel called, the one about trains? I wanted to check it out to see what sort of things you like about them cos I live in the UK and we have some amazing Transport Museums. I was thinking of sending you some postcards of steam trains (there is one near me that travels through the Cairngorm mountain range super cool) but if you don't like steam trains there would be no point! xxx
I'm excited to create Ghibli-ish environments.
Exspanding the town now thats refreshing.
You know what I want to build now? A HOBBIT hole!! Oh, I love the terrain being around the house. So much potential, I can't wait!!!!
You know what you could do with that crazy sculpting tool? Create deserts with towering sand pillars and ravines.
Thank you for the amazing upload as always Matt😊, paralives looks more and more awesome every time I see it.
11:14 I think my main issue with the art style is they need the skin tone and object, color sampled, and then have a dark approximate color which they kind of do what they need to lighten up the lines of the skin or objects, subtler will be less distracting.
IT'S SO PRITTY !!! The weeping willow is beautiful !! hope you all have a nice day !!
(I mean, I'm hoping to be theoretically able to do that, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have the patience to do it unless the tools are approximately 'the best terrain editing and building tools in any game')
a house partially underground!! That's BIG
Im so excited about this game. The first thing I’m gonna do when I get the game, is build fnaf 1 I’ve built it in every game that gives you the ability to build so far so I wanna keep that trend going
I've been following Paralives since 2021 and cant wait for it to come out it just keeps getting better and better!!!!
Ooooh beds that we can stretch and heighten! Oooh!
Paralives is the future of the life simulation genre (or InZoi for those who prefer something more realistic). EA shot themselves on the foot by deciding not to make a Sims 5.
6:27 that's probably the color of the wall
The grass and flowers are giving me tiny glade vibes and I’m here for it 🎉
I'm probably gonna really enjoy making landscape designs in Paralives; seeing that there's a brush for 3D flower fields and grass is really cool! Putting grass in Sims 4 just to get something similar to 0:48 takes forever 😅
Paralives, Paralives, Paralives
The graphics are wonderful. I’m loving all the customization. The thought of creating your own town eventually is seriously exciting.
I'm excited for this game even if I end up not playing live mode that long cause I just want to be able to build without a grid.
whoa 3d terrain paint!!! WOW this is pretty damn good.
The 3d is so cool. I am ecstatic about this and can not wait!! To build in this game.🎉
I can’t wait for the game to come out 😩 I bet you making custom animations is so much easier too, the ParaMachinima is about to go CRAZYYY
Now I can finally touch grass. Looking forward to playing Paralives.
I think it would be kind of cool for the really tall grass to be filled with weeds too to give it that unkept look
I love their development. I, however, am still no a fan of the aesthetics of the game.
Looks so good! 🥰
Looking forword to bouth Paralife and inzoi. Ea need competition more than ever before now.
Omg we might be able to make an earthship in Paralives 😁 or a house on a slope (is there a name for it in English? We call it sutteränghus in Sweden).
the 3d wildflowers are so cute i actually squealed which is embarrassing but look at them!!
I’m so psyched for paralivrs and Inzoi !!!
Paralives is so my vibe. I’m not into inzoi at all, but the tall grass here alone looks so cute! I cannot wait.
ts4 seems to have cleaner lines
So excited for Paralives, more excited than any other life sim I've played before ^^
I do love that it won't have any dlc, games just feel more whole and complete that way. I am in live with the style and feel of this upcoming game.
I love it, but I’m wondering, if houses can be partially submerged, can I have hilltop houses as well?
Hopefully!
that donut.. almost every single (either 2d or 3d) artist know where that's comes from XD
Those flowers though!
This looks promising. I hope they refine that roof texture tho…
I love how we have more than 1 competitor in life simulation game❤, you want realistic graphics and have powerful computer, great have inzoi. you want something more cartoony with less intensive specs, paralives to the rescue. This better be lesson for ea to step up their game if they ever gonna release ts5 or project rene or whatever, bcs these competitors are not coming to play around
Paralives has my heart and my wallet in the future. ❤❤❤
I never said omg shut up so many times before I’m excited.
I would def play this game
