The loft bedroom/office didn't work bc you didn't raise the shelves for the "floor" from the basement. That's why you need a basement, so the shelves don't block the bed and the office under it lol every step in these hacks has a reason behind it :)
For the one with the basement shelves I’ve made improvements in a new video, so you don’t have to do the basement stuff, you can use half tile kitchen cabinets so sims can still access the bed, I’ve learnt a lot since posting that video to make it easier for people! It’s the shelves that are stopping it being functional that’s why I put them in the basement but with the half tile kitchen cabinets you don’t have to (you do need to use the tall wall height though so you can’t see them through the archway) Edit: by the way I love these videos! Really helps me see where people are struggling to improve on future tutorials!
The sand terrain paint actually works in base game. You need Island Living specifically to build and knock down sand sculptures. But the "play in sand" and "draw in sand" options are there in just the base game ^_^
@ShadowAnimeation yeah, I haven't seen the assessories that he has in the video, but maybe because I don't have island living. But they get their own out, helps there imagination skill go up, so I leave them to it lol😂🥰
I'm definitely gonna use the sandcastle feature! So awesome - thanks for sharing. Also, when I make bathrooms with windows/glass dividers, I usually make the shower a "room" and bring it down by one platform level, then just remove the walls after. This is so that Sims have to step down one when entering the shower. It gives the illusion that the water isn't just gonna spill out of the shower since it's not the same level as the rest of the bathroom.
i feel so weird being an avid lover of the moschino pack 😭 my sims are always wearing the tshirt as pajamas and the lace boots, and i absolutely love the photography for family portraits
Same, I also love messing with the freelance photographer career, if you got city living. I even have a lot public photo studio lot with all the furniture for family portraits.
0:28 I only recently discovered that the terrain paint is actual stuff. I used to do sand floor panels and it would leave no foot prints. I them made a pool for a country mansion, ran out of money for sand around the pool, and used the terrain paint to find out I had been wasting money on floor panels. Best discovery ever.
I'm with you, the sandbox one is nice, easy and fun, the other hacks are for pro builders 😂 I'm not gonna fiddle either. Thanks for the end bit, that looks a lot easier to put a little room under the stairs. I would still use the archway though, so you can see the cute nook from the room you're in. Thinking... would the walls look stupidly tall if you build a loft on top and just remove the rest of the flooring.... probably... but I'm gonna try that cause I love lofts and want to use the long hanging lamps one day too😂
I love the basement tricks. Once you’ve figured out how many ticks to move an item up, it never changes… so you just make note and repeat it as much as you want. As for a cute under the stairs cupboard… just use tallest wall height, add a short wall height arch, & add a bookcase under the staircase.
i once did the raised bed hack. it wasn't that specific one but same concept, and it worked until it didn't. for whatever reason at some point it bugged out and the sim stopped being able to get to the bed to sleep, and i couldn't be bothered to redo it to fix it, so i just got rid of it and made a normal room
In the loft room example, I noticed that they lowered the office/closet room by one. As if it was a platform and you lower it by one. I do this to make flower beds, just use the High School fence like they did with the sandbox and then lower it one step, use the floor tile from Misc called clean room or basement floor and then you can either use debug plants, or plant plants and then place them in there.
The Tool mod has gotten a lot easier, it’s not that hard to use as it was when it just came out, also twistedmexi has videos here on TH-cam, if you need help on how to use the mod, so don’t give up, you can do it! 😊tool is such an amazing mod
For the shower hack you could also use the platform tool to sink the shower part one step into the ground so it looks like it's built in if that makes sense
That sand pit one was definitely a keeper. Re, the kitchen wall window. I’ve done something similar, but I just got rid of a two tile section of the wall entirely, and replaced it with a standard size two tile bar.
Omg yes! I'm totally with you with the whole basement and tool mod shit. Lmao. I always see this cute shit and I want to do it so badly but I just can't deal with all those steps. Lol
tbf, for the shower hack you don't specifically need the Moschino pack. you can use any glass divider like the one in love struck or you can also just use the windows from base game.
I love the shower idea and I want to add in something I do. Sometimes I just use the glass wall tool and I will create a wet room with the shower and the tub combo. And then the other room has the vanity and the sink. It's really a luxurious looking
I hate like watching TH-cam shorts for this reason, but I will never do these cute little hacks in the TH-cam world for The Sim 4..because they're ridiculous and half of them don't work or they're so fiddley or fickle. and they're good to just look at basically. So I'm with Satch on this one y'all
I wish the standalone showers were better with hygiene, comfort etc. I'd never use anything else if they were, I hate, no, absolutely loathe those small shower ...booths? shower cabinets? irl 🤢
i think the loft hack did not work for you because you put the boards inside the room you were creating instead of the room below so their alpha´s blocked entry to anything in that area of the room... =(
Im with you about all hacks raising things from the basement 😭,so when I get home tonight I'm gonna see if I can simplify these hacks. I'll get back to you if it's successful.
The sand thing is amazing, now need to visit all my family parks and add Sand!!!! All the complex building stuff, not gonna try. Pretty sure you can accomplish a version of the open shower with half walls and windows.
Bathroom mood lighting though, that's my life atm 😂😂 My bathroom light socket is the odd one out as the ONLY screw in bulb. I keep forgetting to pick up a bulb (it's been weeks) But I always have candles as where I live is prone to power cuts. You can see where I'm going with this
I always knew about the sandbox. Have to agree with you on the basement trick.. I have tried some of those and they never have worked for me. Still learning how to use the tool mod so thats not that easy to do when you have to size or rotate things when you are just learning. All of those hacks do take a bit of patience and time to do and are not as easy as they make them look😒
Also @16:41 you can't have a bar or other object that someone tends BUT you can have a desk/bar to sit at by putting a chair at a table, sizing the table down, and then putting the chair/table combo up to an oversized shelf like you were attempting with the bar ^_^
Glad I'm not the only one who dislikes tutorials that require you to build basements or use too many custom elements. Yeah it's cool and creative but it'll take you hours if you want to edit or expand the room just slightly. Guess it works for people who just want to play one static family with no aging etc.
The sand pit is awesome!!! If there’s a mod to play badminton or volleyball, you could have a beach court. I am curious if you have a cat, will it use the sand pit as a litter box the way they do in real life? Very cool video. I can barely build a square box with a roof, I wouldn’t go near trying any of that stuff….but I’m so glad people who love building and have mad skills upload things to the gallery!
You cannot put anything below the middle two squares of the bed. They don't care about the head space or the foot space. Just the middle needs to be "free" so they can access the bed. If you turn the desk it should work. Somehow the linked chair doesn't count. If you put just the chair in the middle it would be in the way. You don't need a basement for this.
She did say use the tallest wall height... But yes; that one looked a bit too tricky for me - I never play with the tallest wall height and then the rest of the house should be as well... Hmmm.... But some nice ideas. The sand thing I knew about, but never imagined a round sandbox - that was cute!
As for the Moschino divider/ shower doors, you can make them once and save them in your gallery so you don't have to make them over and over again. If you don't want to save the whole bath. Form the loft bed, can you turn it the bed the other way so the headboard is on the platform?
I am sorry, I don't want to spam your comments section, but with the desk on the halfwall trick, you can still use alt 9 and finish it the rest of the way, but with the Machino glass I would have rathered shrunk it further and leave it straight and put it up along the railings going across like if it were a glass railing, or just use the Snowy Escape railing in black and place ceiling lights from the Fitness stuff pack--size them down one and use the one for medium wall height. Or you can use the awning that is glass from the City Living or Get Together and raise it using alt 9 until it is one step from the ceiling. and then do the lights from Fitness stuff pack.
14:00 Now, I think I know how to make this functional. I remember I did a landing for steps, but I had to use a platform to make the landing..... it was for a spaceship silo. It might be possible to place a wide enough platform for the bed, then build underneath the platform?
the person showing the bed hack showed their sim use it, i bet its not working because you skipped the basement step. there must be a reason they did it that way :0
Omg. I have all this sand oriented cc and was like this doest work. I needed to do the terrain. It just has blank spots you're supposed to paint the sand
So the basement "hacks" I don't like, its not really one story house then is it? Just LOOKS like it. I prefer using half walls for that sort of thing, like you ended up doing, I think I put a bathroom under the bed. I know I had it work that way, but I think I used a single bed, sorry it was a long time ago.
The loft bedroom/office didn't work bc you didn't raise the shelves for the "floor" from the basement. That's why you need a basement, so the shelves don't block the bed and the office under it lol every step in these hacks has a reason behind it :)
she specifically said not to place anuthing on the middle , only on the left side wall and if you want a chair in the middle
lol i think he knows but he doesn't care lol he hates basement hacks lol

Still a really awesome idea. I like it.
@@jfcfanficthanks! ❤
I looove your builds, I learned so much from them ❤
I just saw that video yesterday and love it!
Just saw your updated video and it's really cool!
The sand terrain paint actually works in base game. You need Island Living specifically to build and knock down sand sculptures. But the "play in sand" and "draw in sand" options are there in just the base game ^_^
Yeah Oasis Springs too, I always have toddlers there helps there needs great😂
@@jdm9268 Oh yeah, that's a good point. You can just do it in Oasis springs as well, cause it's almost all sand :3
@ShadowAnimeation yeah, I haven't seen the assessories that he has in the video, but maybe because I don't have island living. But they get their own out, helps there imagination skill go up, so I leave them to it lol😂🥰

I've seen real bathrooms with their floor slightly lower than the rest of the apartment's or house's floors.
i feel so weird being an avid lover of the moschino pack 😭 my sims are always wearing the tshirt as pajamas and the lace boots, and i absolutely love the photography for family portraits

Those boots are probably my favorite item in the entire game lol. The windows are also really nice
@@desiree2086 theyre so underrated i swear every male sim of mine wears them at least once lmao
I like that pack too
And the windowssss
I use them all the time! My favs in the game!
The sandbox one was surprising because at this point we don’t expect the sims team to put this much thought into the details
Sand is useful in parks, so kids can play in it. I rarely built a sandpit, but often use sand abilities. 👌🏻
Didn't Lovestruck come with a glass panel specifically designed to make walk-in shower rooms more easily?
Oh, Satch actually mentions it at the end and shows the difference! I suppose there are plusses and minuses to both.
@@EmeraldMcSausageAnd people might have Mochino and not lovestruck,
For the walk in shower just put a wall and just use any of the eco lifestyle windows, it's the same idea but with like half the steps
I'm with you, the sandbox one is nice, easy and fun, the other hacks are for pro builders 😂 I'm not gonna fiddle either. I don’t even make a box, just put it all around the monkey bars and swings. I found out it worked when my sim just started building sand castles in it
13:57 i thing you might have had to raise it up from the basement
Hahahaha I completely feel you on the tool mod and basement thing. Too much!!
The basement is what makes the stuff function lol def takes some time to figure out :)
I didn't know you could make a sand box!
1:48 "a soft overlay of grass". Completely covers the sand.
I'm amazed with the sand castle.
I love the basement tricks. Once you’ve figured out how many ticks to move an item up, it never changes… so you just make note and repeat it as much as you want. Oh my gosh this is the earliest I’ve ever caught a video love your videos!!
I had Johnny Zest build a sand sculpture in his fron yard last night.

tbf, for the shower hack you don't specifically need the Moschino pack. you can use any glass divider like the one in love struck or you can also just use the windows from base game.

what i learn from this hacks is that ea need to add an actual loft tool to the game
I’ve used a desk that’s functional under the top bunk bed. It’s really handy for a tiny home.

I don't have the island living pack, but my Sim children can "play in the sand".
The best way to avoid hacks but still be able to use them is just get one from the gallery 😂
ive been making tiny sandboxes forever with the terrain paint!

For the bathroom walk in shower I would have used the room dividers from the University pack.
I think the walk in shower hack would be easier just building a room with full length windows and a glass door.
Bathroom mood lighting though, that's my life atm 😂😂
My bathroom light socket is the odd one out as the ONLY screw in bulb. I keep forgetting to pick up a bulb (it's been weeks)

I hope you can review a recent mod its called The Expanded Plantsims mod, made by the same creator who made the expanded mermaid mod.
bedroom hack didn't work because you didn't use the basement for the shelves. shelves are blocking it.

There is no need for the surrounding box. There is a mod that allows Sims to beach comb in ANY sandy patch : Beachcomb Anywhere.

I can do the sandbox 😊
I’m making a sandbox today
Now I’m confused on how to pronounce moschino
I hate platforms, they never work it’s so weird
Some of these building hack are cool but take way too much time and effort.
“it’s not functional” but you didn’t follow the hack?
