@@leviksd That is 100% correct. I couldn’t agree with you more. In fact I’m talking about this in an upcoming video right now, trust me you’re not the only one that rdr2 did this too 🙌😁
I have the feeling that you enjoy more the game on your second playthrgough because you know what are the fun things and how to play the game at it's full potential
I have 1500hrs in RDR2 (I played online once for a few hours) I can't get enough of the story and the gun fights. Red dead is probably the best work of fiction I've had the pleasure of experiencing
As someone that just bought the full game because red dead online wasn’t on game pass anymore, I’m starting the story for the first time. I now understand what the hype around this story mode is.
Started my 3rd playthrough in early 2022 and dipped in and out since then. Just completed my first 100% yesterday evening by finishing the gambler challenges! They are not as hard as some think they are. Doing all the challenges and, more importantly, figuring out how to do them really gives you a new experience in a playthrough.
On my second play through, I took my sweet time playing as Arthur. It was during the Covid lockdown in 2020 so I had plenty of time to play, and I think I took maybe 6 or 8 months to get to the epilogue. I made sure to take my time between story missions, and focused on exploring, collectables, random encounters, side missions, easter eggs and hidden puzzles etc so that by the time I got to play as John all that was left were the epilogue side content. I kept a save at the start of chapter 2 for when I wanted to go back to free roam as Arthur, and I kept a save in the epilogue where I would continue the story. I had a pretty big surgery during the covid lockdown so i couldn't go outside much to exercise. But having the massive open world of rdr2 kept me sane
good stuff mate! I actually just bought RDR1 for the PS4 so i’m in the epilogue of RDR2 in my 3rd play through and i’m excited to play RDR1 bc I don’t remember it as a kid except for a few things. I know i’ll be disappointed a bit bc it won’t be nearly as good mechanics as RDR2, however I need to finish John’s story so it’s like a brand new game for me, i’m hyped!!!
One way I recently replayed the game was in sort of realism mode so to speak. I disabled basically all HUD options, turned off the music, switched to first person and disabled reticle / kill effects. That way you immerse even more into the game. If you want to know where you have to go, you have to open the map and remember the path or just trust your knowledge of the map. Its a new and challenging way to experience the story I gotta say
I just replayed this game for only the 2nd time, and the first time was when it first came out. Idk why it took me so long to play it again but I’ve rediscovered my love for it, already considering playing this again 😂 also, mate I just discovered your channel and idk how you don’t have like minimum 10k subscribers. Keep going bro you’re killing it
My current playthrough is a weird-ass one. I used a mission replay glitch to "rewind" back to Chapter 2 as i missed controlling Arthur. I have all the endgame weapons John had, a horse Arthur usually cant get, the whole map is already revealed, challenges are already completed, legendary animals are missing, some strangers and encounters are gone and finally Arthur's journal is gone as well.
Once you beat the epilogue, you should be given all the story mode outfits like you do in GTA. Like the police outfit, jail outfit, union suit, etc. just to let players have fun
So far i've done many playthroughs of this game, some of them were : No aim assist ( Low honor and High honor), Revolver only, Max stats run (just max out all the stats and collect the trinckets in chapther 2), and for the side content u can play all the story as arthur and then save before doing the last mission so u have all the strangers and quest to do as Arthur and on the other save with John
I'm pretty new to this game, I got it for Xmas when it came out and never played it, until this spring. It's all I do in my spare time, I definitely see why this game is so popular.
I like to tell my wife that I’m playing paper dolls sometimes. I haven’t gone all in and bought all the clothes with Arthur. And finding the stolen hats can take a bit.
I’ve never been so glad to be late! I only played for the 1st time a couple months ago. I sped through the story because it’s so damn incredible! I’m now on my journey to 100% in my 2nd playthrough. As someone who is absolute infatuated with the amount of detail, I get distracted constantly so I honestly don’t know how I’ll get 100% before GTA VI drops 😅
Another way that has made me put more than 200 extra hours in is mods, if you're playing on pc you're gonna loads of extra fun. If you need somewhere to start you can search up a modding guide, after that install these 3 mods, Ped damage overhaul, W.E.R.O and WhyEm's Bloodlust. There's also quickdrawing. On pc hold right click and hold left click, then quickly release right click. On PlayStation and Xbox just hold r2 or rb for Xbox. If you need any help modding feel free to reply to this comment.
Ive been playing it as real life, doing the daily chores on the ranch and dragging them out by taking breaks, then going out to town to see a show, then get drunk at the saloon, 😅 or goin out and finding nice camping spots set up the tent, catch a fish for dinner. The whole world in that game is just a nice place to be, even if you do get shot at 😅
After beating it twice when it came out. Picked it up again, but this time, play story up until chapter 2, leave micah to rot in jail while i grind satchels, hunt, fish and collect the dino bones
A few things I've done in the past year to extend my fun if anyone wants ideas. 1) First person, free aim, no reticle, no minimap playthrough. Interesting way to experience the same content once again if you haven't done it. Then just by creating my own mini game challenges. 2) In the epilogue, trying to get an alligator to Beecher's Hope before it rots without using the horseback lasso drag. This is possible and felt like a potential speed run category once I finished it. 3) A game I named "Cowboy Golf" where I attempted to cross the entire map by only being able to fire gun while standing on the corpse of the last thing I killed. A lot of other rules around it to make it a challenge, but the biggest one being permadeath.
Thanks for this video, btw. It’s a lot of fun, even to a guy like me who doesn’t play the online version. Another suggestion you didn’t mention: play both the high honor and low honor versions, collecting all of the different outfits and weapon decorations that come with each playthrough? And, if you really want a challenge, get the low honor outfit and gun decorations, then raise your honor to get the high honor versions, in the same game. For example, you can start by getting the low honor cattle man revolver, having played far enough in to get all the decorations unlocked and be able to afford them, then twin it with the high honour version with the pearl grip. You can do that for rather a lot of the pistols and revolvers. I don’t know if the game will allow you to have high and low honor versions of the same outfits (obviously you’ll be wearing one or the other for scripted missions) but it’ll be fun trying to find out? Probably, the easiest approach would be to have a high honor completion of the game, but only buying one of every pairable weapon set, then just rob a few trains or shoot up a town and see about getting the second one of everything and decorating it accordingly? It would be the Red Dead equivalent of having, “Love,” and, “Hate,” tattooed on your knuckles and a super rare thing to see. When people see you online, duel wielding the high and low honor paired weapons, they’ll probably ask you how you did that? If they can tell, that is?
These are all great points, I’m planning on making a 3rd video about more stuff to do in the game, I’ll definitely make sure to include these points, thank you so much for the help 🙌😁
I like to purposely get myself stranded away from my horse and weapons. I like doing this in nature. So I collect a weapon or two from npcs, battle the law, fight off bounty hunters. Basically create tension and immersion by not being packed to the gills with weaponry. I camp at night for immersion and hunt. Again, no horse. Slows the game down and I can appreciate the environment. I also have a mod for no auto ammo pickup so I’m constantly running out of ammo. Keeps things exciting.
I'm still in the process of completing the challenges, I've already finished the hunting challenges and am now on the bandit challenges. The game offers so much, I think most people don't even see that, after the story has been completed, they're no longer interested. But people like that weren't made for this game, or rather the game wasn't made for players like that.
@@ProScrood Red Dead Redemtion 2 is the only game I own on CD, otherwise I only have digital games...RDR2 is so important to me, I only want to own this game in physical form because this game is so special and beautiful. I love it as much as you do.^^
installed something around 60 or 70 mods and i cant imagine playing again without most of them and it still keeps improving my gameplay experience every single time. (750 hours and counting...)
the fact is, there is sooooooo, so, so much unlockables, findables, collectibles, challenges in this game that by the time you finish it ALL? even after achieving 100%? leave some like intermittent save files for nostalgia and re-playing missions with different drip. i'd feel content after having all that
I’ve completed the game about 7 times, 100%ed the game just once, but that time I didn’t 100% all of the animals in the compendium, coz’ Guarma and that damned snake that wouldn’t show up. I’m currently going for it again, this time promising myself the OCD’s dream completion. I already have the obscure missables, like Pierson’s denim jacket (which I love with a white or denim shirt, blue jeans and brown leather everything else) and I’m in the sweet spot, Chapter 2, taking my sweet time to complete challenges, find pickups and meet weird and interesting folk. The only thing that plays on my mind is whether I can find and exterminate the rare birds. I always come back. It’s the only world I feel at home in.
@@ProScroodI agree and I think it makes sense with how the story goes because chapter 2 is pretty much the peak we see of the gang and the more we go on the gang descends and the end outcome of the game is basically just you, Uncle, Abigail and Jack so that's why the game kinda feels lonely when you complete it.
@@ProScrood yeah and it goes into rdr1 well because that game feels more lonely compared to rdr2 and the end with playing as Jack is just peak loneliness
One you should definitely add to the video is the companion glitch to get camp mates to follow you. Its just so fun to recreate the blackwater massacre And another one is playing on free aim, youll get angry from the broken combat system but its more rewarding
Played this game in 2018 andget 100%. Replayed in 2024, 100% again. Enjoyed more my 2nd playthrough. Not every game needs to be an infinite experience, we have plenty games doing that
Been on a 2 year journey so far. I completed the game at 100%, but I still have some achievements I don't have, also the RDO achievement, I think it will be 2 more years until I fully get the achievements lol
Excellent informative content funny at times. Great Video! My first time through I had no idea what I was getting into. I just completed my 2nd go through and I'm roaming around seeing what I can do after you complete the game. Round 3 will start soon. This game blew me away. I'm never bored, at least not yet even playing after the end. I got to wondering why the hell all these people were chasing me for a $100 bounty. So I decided to find out just how much this bounty would be worth in 2024 US dollars. Perhaps this has been posted already I don't know. But the point is that it may peak your interest a little, it did mine, to know that this $100.00 fine is worth $3,413.79 in 2024 US dollars. In other words what you could buy in 1908 for a dollar would cost you $37.14 in 2024 dollars. So no big deal right, or is it? When you find a 3 Gold bar treasure we're talking $51,206.90. Come to find out that I'm way richer then I imagined before I looked this up. I'm pretty damn rich with $1,092,413.91 2024 dollars. That's amazing. Of course this brings me to a Major Gripe I have. With all this money and being a 1908 millionaire why oh why can't I buy poor Abigail some new clothes! She's been wearing that same ugly ass dress for 8 years now!! Maybe that's why she seems so grouchy all the time. Love this game I only got to 93% this time, truth be known I accidentally ended it to soon. DUH! Now I have to play through again, poor me. 😁
This game had too much of an emotional impact on me, even on my other play throughs, I knew Arthur’s (THE GOAT) death was coming, and I still Teared up. If I could play this game for ALL ETERNITY, I think I would take that opportunity….!
No. I absolutely do not want Rockstar to change anything about RDR2 (Story). And I always have fun, whenever I return to see Arthur and the Gang. Also, at this point in time there are things one can change/improve a little bit, if wanted. For example, there apparently is a mod that adds actual seasons into the gameplay (spring, summer, fall and winter) that I would like to try, because it would make the gameplay even more immersive. Or a mod that lets Arthur actually smoke a cigarette (or cigar) instead of just doing this "one-inhale-throw-away-thing". So there are things one can improve if you chose so, but please... do not mess with the original content. Never, ever. It can only go wrong. Especially with a master piece like RDR2 (Story), I absolutely do feel that the best advice is: "Do not touch a running system." It's perfect just like it is.
Bro I played rdr2 story 6 times, played rdo story for 30 minutes, replayed rdr2 couple more times. I would still replay as Arthur then play as a Character with no story and no voice.
@@ProScrood if game companies want to charge us more money for games then they should put the effort in like rdr2, I don't think I'll ever stop replaying rdr2 and rdr1 because these games are actual art
@@hunterodwyer2626 Precisely, every rockstar game is a masterpiece especially the Rdr series. GTA 6 will be a masterclass of course and same with Red dead redemption 3 in the future. Rockstar games is the only game company that I’d pay more expensive prices to play their games
Everyone is talking about RDR3 and how long it’s going to take and how they can’t wait which I totally agree with but I havnt seen anyone taking about why the hell we havnt seen a next gen upgrade yet! I have a ps5 and would loooooove 60fps at 4k. This game deserves it! Cmon Rockstar!
For my 4th playthrough of the game I did a run where I didn't kill anyone unless it was required to progress. Because pure pacifism is quite boring, I allowed myself to knock people out whenever I wanted. It was soooo fun. I felt like Batman
Haha yeah exactly, creating little challenges for yourself is a great way to have fun in the game for sure, I tried to beat the game without killing anyone that didn’t necessarily need to be and it was fun as 🙌
How hard would it really be for them to make undead nightmare 2? They already have the different monsters in the different regions, plus the mass sickness thing in multiple towns in both Mexico and the U.S. sides of the playable map, and it would be atleast 60% reused assets which makes it even easier to create with a smaller development team. You could even have it be like a “portal” mechanic where you travel between normal RDR2 and zombie mode by an option in the sleep menu. (New weapons would carry over both ways between game modes via someone in camp “finding” it while you sleep and donating it to you when you wake up)
If the game is as good as you say it is (and it's even better than you say it is) then it doesn't need new content to be fun however many years after release. If you stop having fun, it's a you problem. Play something else for awhile. You'll be back eventually.
I definitely understand where you’re coming from 🙌 however I think it is useful for some people when they don’t know where to turn for fun in the game any more😁
Some much missed potential in a DLC.. the story is so good that you have no issue playing it over but a Sadie DLC or the Black water heist DLC would’ve been epic

Can you continue from before last mission on story mode as Arthur? Or the only option is to redo story & not start last mission so I can keep playing as Arthur?
Im doing story mode again but with no dead eye and free aim, its going amazing thus far, gunfights are way more cinematic and brutal and you have to think fast when to shoot, because you dont have the "win the game" button anymore
There’s RDR 2 and then there’s everything else. It is CRIMINAL that Rockstar hasn’t given us the first shred of single player DLC. It’s NOT too late. Especially with us looking at pushing 2030+ for RDR 3 Rockstar could name their price for some RDR 2 DLC. Do it Rockstar! For the love of money if you can’t do it for the love of the art.
The one thing that kills me about this game is that after a while, even the western element wears away and feels like GTA in 1880. I hate that spaghetti western style games are currently underrated.
I can't seem to get over this game either. I know it's partially because I am an older gamer, but I have many other games and can't get into any of them.
I think what a lot of players who say they have all this money and gold but say that they left the game cause there’s nothing to buy, never have actually purchased everything from the game. Like all the clothing colors, all items for each part of their horses saddles, weapons customs, pamphlets etc. pamphlets are crazy expensive and I’m like almost level 200 but even I don’t have all the stuff in the game and I grind. I plan to purchase everything from the game. Unlike some people like they just gave up and I understand the game gets no love but some didn’t even bother purchasing anything even with all the money. To me this game is too good to not try ro buy things
I hope next game is a new series of game like keep red dead ___________ keep red dead and it would be placed later in time around 1860s and 1870s and the main people we will be against is the native Americans because of the war it would be cool and maybe make it a gang of 5 or maybe a bounty hunter or something like that also you earned a subscriber because you seem like a really good TH-cam hope you get up one day
Thank you so much for the support and I 100% agree with you, RDR3 is rumoured to be another prequel about the origins of the gang set to follow Mac Callander 😁
I’m having fun playing the story mode after have completing the game multiple times and getting 100% twice. I’m taking my sweet time in chapter two I already have 49.8% completed after doing pouring fourth oil IV Also getting stuff way earlier like the MFT, Strawberry roan Ardennes, Brindle thoroughbred, Black Arabian,Micah’s revolver, rolling block rifle. Trying to complete all challenges in chapter two I just have the bandit challenges and the last two of herbalist
@@ProScroodespecially when you watch videos about how Dutch kinda always seemed to have a doubt in Arthur and replaying it you see how it always there even in the beginning even a subtle way. Stuff like that makes it worth coming back or even Abigail being a second rat
Not tryna hate but ur probably one of the FEW people I’ve seen who have accessories on Arthur’s hat. It looks nice, but out of place at the same time. 😂
@@ProScrood I respect that, the Red Dead community is both amazing and very creative… in designing stuff and committing the most weirdest war crimes known to man kind.
Most studios squeeze their games dry of every penny, cent and dollar they can, even Rockstar themselves did with GTA 5. But for some reason unexplainable reason they left RDR2 more full of milk than Homelanders secret drawer
Like I’ve been saying for years, RDR2 is the epitome of wasted potential, but not just any potential, potential to be somehow even greater then it already is
@@ProScrood My honest opinion is they should've scrapped Red Dead Online and invested that time and money into an expansion. GTA Online's success was always going to overshadow it anyways. Hopefully we get Red Dead 3 with a new story and set of characters and MAYBE a DLC for that game where some parts of RDR1&2 are explored a bit further.
Saw a comment on one of pvpcats videos and it mentioned that gta iv had STORY DLC. That the success of gta online is sort of story dlc but also killed any chance we have of getting more. Rdr2 had a rough development and hope gta vi is going better 🙏

@@The_Alpha_E For sure 🙌
So far i've done many playthroughs of this game, some of them were : No aim assist ( Low honor and High honor), Revolver only, Max stats run (just max out all the stats and collect the trinckets in chapther 2), and for the side content u can play all the story as arthur and then save before doing the last mission so u have all the strangers and quest to do as Arthur and on the other save with John
Very interesting 🙌

Another way that has made me put more than 200 extra hours in is mods, if you're playing on pc you're gonna loads of extra fun. If you need somewhere to start you can search up a modding guide, after that install these 3 mods, Ped damage overhaul, W.E.R.O and WhyEm's Bloodlust.
There's also quickdrawing. On pc hold right click and hold left click, then quickly release right click. On PlayStation and Xbox just hold r2 or rb for Xbox.

i’m on my second play through rn, having more fun doing all the side content then undid the first time around. didn’t do as much exploring.
@@_InTheCosmos_ Yeah second play throughs tend to be quite fun too
Ive been playing it as real life, doing the daily chores on the ranch and dragging them out by taking breaks, then going out to town to see a show, then get drunk at the saloon, 😅 or goin out and finding nice camping spots set up the tent, catch a fish for dinner. The whole world in that game is just a nice place to be, even if you do get shot at 😅
Thats exactly what I’m saying, that’s an awesome play style for sure! Love this 🙌
After beating it twice when it came out.
Love this comment 😂🙌

@@GodIsGood-Fr Exactly right 🙌
I would love to see a Hardcore Mode for RDR 2 similar to RDR 1 Game of the Year Edition. That was brutal.
That would be amazing
The small things definitely make a big difference 🙌
Bro I played rdr2 story 6 times, played rdo story for 30 minutes, replayed rdr2 couple more times. I would still replay as Arthur then play as a Character with no story and no voice.
