This right here! Chapter 8 is so solid and shows what RWBY has to offer - character relationships like, world building, and sick fight scenes! The way this world expands and reveals layers slowly rather than dumping info and exposition like most anime do, is so well done! Are there hiccups and budgetary issues at first, certainly. It is RWBY's growth, however, that makes it really shine for me. I'm so excited to watch you experience my favorite show!
Pierre LOL gotta love Pierre (Pyrrha) 😂 Also you were right in hearing heiress for Weiss' name, Blake said Weiss Schnee is the heiress to the Schnee Dust Company which is the largest company for dust production in the world Quick edit - what Pyrrha was explaining is a suuuper important concept in this show: Aura! think of it like how in a video game you have your shield and then once that depletes you have your actual health so then you become vulnerable to attacks and can actually sustain injuries. Weapons are also conduits for aura so whatever you pick up and you put your aura in it, it can be way more powerful. You can even pick up a pillow, put your aura in it and it'll feel like bricks if you get smacked by it loool. People and animals have aura but not the creatures of Grimm. You'll see how the show evolves and messes with showing aura it gets much more clear later on but you'll pick it up!

Chapter 8 really sets the hook. Good guess on Weis's backstory, without spoiling it is fair to say the Schnee family doesn't just have issues, they have whole volumes. Also if you put Weis Schnee into a German to English translator you'll get a big hint on her characters fairytale inspiration.
Ngl, I have to agree with Weiss in some of those arguments, as much as I love sweet little Ruby, she was in fact acting like a child. She was overconfident in her abilities and in her attempt to show Weiss what she can do, she never tried to communicate and work with her instead. Though I do admit that Weiss was a bit bossy and could have handled the situation better. Anyways, I love your reactions so far! The reason Jaune got the leadership position is because he was just naturally able to see what needed done and called the moves. He called out to Pyrrha to have her use her shield to cut off the tail, then he called out to Nora to "Nail it" by using her hammer to hammer the point home, to the Deathstalker, that it wasn't wanted there. As you could hear, when she hit the tail, she fired a shot from her grenade launcher to make more of an impact. As you saw in the previous chapters, they fire off their weapons a lot when in combat, so that they can enhance the damage they cause or to give extra boost. Such as when Pyrrha launched her javelin to catch Jaune, she fired off a shot to give it the range that she needed. You are definitely good at catching things. For example, not many notice the scorpion drawing on the wall of the entrance to the cave, even after seeing it multiple times. Well done. That kind of eye for detail is great to have in watching RWBY. One thing I wasn't sure if you caught or not, but when Yang asked for 3 seconds of peace, "before something crazy happens again," there was the sound of a ticking clock and the ding of a kitchen timer going off, just as Ruby pointed upwards. You have now seen all of the bears referenced to Goldilocks/Yang. The first bear was the DJ in the trailer and then these 2 bears just before she met Blake in the forest. You can now see why Monty was considered a genius at fight choreography. His "camera angles" and creativity in the fight scenes is the best that I can remember seeing in any anime. Imagine what kinds of fight scenes he could have come up with with the budget and supporting animators that they have now. I wish more animators in anime would put even half as much creativity into their shows as Monty did for RWBY. I love the reaction and especially your edits. I know it takes extra time to do them but I think they're well worth it. Keep up the good work and I can't wait for your next one. P.S. Keep in mind that the singer for all of this great music was just 14 years old at the time. The song played here was called Red Like Roses part II. Part I was the trailer. The fight scene with red like roses playing is probably my favorite one all throughout the show. It gets me jumping every single time, the song in itself is so energetic and amazing and the fight is so well coordinated it's a match made in heaven.

I found your RWBY videos recently and when I watched your reaction to Divide, I HAD TO see your reactions to the show. You bring an energy and enthusiasm that anyone would want to see in a reaction of their favourite show. And RWBY is a very special show. It may never win awards for writing or animation or anything, but it has soul. The people behind it have a passion for what they’re doing, the story they’re telling and I think that resonates with the audience. Look forward to seeing more of your reactions. Also, glad you’re giving Weiss a chance and want to know more about her background. Of the main cast, she is one of the most difficult to like at first, but at some point she became my number one favourite character and she did so for a reason.

Man chapter 8 is such an important Chapter for me, I really liked the show when I first watched it back in 2014 but the fight sequence in chapter 8 is what made me fall in love with the show, I still get just as hyped all these years later

Ugh, Never mind, fixed now... 9:48 I love the subtle music cue here; while Ruby is running trying to remember another person she knows, the music starts playing a variant on Mirror Mirror, which is Weiss's song from her trailer. 27:33 aww seems like you missed what Ruby said there, it's cute :) "normal knees" 30:50 This scene is worth a second glance :) We get a highlight of each of them getting up, but even before that they show their distinct styles in the wide shot 33:14 One of the moments this reaction fandom lives for, seeing your face light up as you soak in just what's going on in front of you :) Got you popping off too, loving it! There are a lot of small details throughout I would love to mention, but I think many of them would be too spoilery. It's fun to notice the tiny things when rewatching, and they all reveal how planned out this show is. Small things like some characters using their semblances, which isn't a concept we've been really introduced to yet. Chapter 8 is still so god damn hype, no matter how many times I watch it! As mentioned by others, this is the absolute hook. If you can get somebody to watch until volume 1 chapter 8, you can be pretty sure they'll want to watch the rest. Helps that it's backed by one of my absolute favourite tracks: Red Like Roses part II. And now that you've seen and heard it I recommend once again that you do a soundtrack reaction ;) so you can fully soak in the lyrics here and fully appreciate also how Jeff's wife, Casey's mom Sandy Lee Williams sings in it, duetting with her daughter when the lyrics as well are mother-daughter :D And I'll say again, I love your energy, love your edits, these are good reaction videos. I found your RWBY videos recently and when I watched your reaction to Divide, I HAD TO see your reactions to the show. You bring an energy and enthusiasm that anyone would want to see in a reaction of their favourite show. And RWBY is a very special show. It may never win awards for writing or animation or anything, but it has soul. The people behind it have a passion for what they’re doing, the story they’re telling and I think that resonates with the audience. Look forward to seeing more of your reactions.
Also, glad you’re giving Weiss a chance and want to know more about her background. Of the main cast, she is one of the most difficult to like at first, but at some point she became my number one favourite character and she did so for a reason.

Man chapter 8 is such an important Chapter for me, I really liked the show when I first watched it back in 2014 but the fight sequence in chapter 8 is what made me fall in love with the show, I still get just as hyped all these years later

There are a lot of small details throughout I would love to mention, but I think many of them would be too spoilery. It's fun to notice the tiny things when rewatching, and they all reveal how planned out this show is. Small things like some characters using their semblances, which isn't a concept we've been really introduced to yet.
Chapter 8 is still so god damn hype, no matter how many times I watch it! As mentioned by others, this is the absolute hook. If you can get somebody to watch until volume 1 chapter 8, you can be pretty sure they'll want to watch the rest. Helps that it's backed by one of my absolute favourite tracks: Red Like Roses part II. And now that you've seen and heard it I recommend once again that you do a soundtrack reaction ;) so you can fully soak in the lyrics here and fully appreciate also how Jeff's wife, Casey's mom Sandy Lee Williams sings in it, duetting with her daughter when the lyrics as well are mother-daughter :D

I’m still trying to find the right balance of reacting genuinely but also looking for the minute details throughout the show. It’s very difficult because right when I want to react to something, I would forget to see something important and wouldn’t notice it until I’m editing 🤣
