Matoshinos next to Porto is a beautiful city by the sea where everyone should visit to for the beaches and wonderful seafood.

Sorry for a belated reply and a happy new year to you. We are planning a Lisbon to Porto road trip but we haven't done the field work yet. Batalha, Tomar, Coimbra, Aveiro stand out.

We have 11 nights in late April/early May flying roundtrip thru Lisbon. We want to see Porto, Lisbon, Nazare and Algarves. Any suggestions how to organize the itinerary?

You seem like a nice person. My son who just turned 21 a week ago is planning to go to Portugal from the US with 2 friends for the first time. They want to rent a car to explore. Some places they want to go is Lisbon, Sintra, Porto and south area near Lagos. What are your best tips? He’s really responsible and resourceful but as a mom I still worry. I want the 3 of them to be safe but still have fun. Oh and they’ll be there in March for 9 days

If we had 9 days we would split them between Lisbon and Porto and not rent a car. Or rent a car and go just south.

I was honestly going to advice him to pick porto area and Lisbon/sintra area or forget about Porto or go to the southern area and Lisbon/sintra instead. Which area is nicer as far as scenery, Porto or the southern part by Lagos? They also wanted to maybe cross to Spain and just explore near the border, do you think that’s a bad idea? Thank you I’m advance for any tips
@@ivi122 the Algarve region is beautiful with good weather. Porto is interesting regardless of the weather. In our opinion, what would be the point of exploring part of Spain if you don't have enough time for Portugal?

We haven't researched that route yet.
The fourth road trip Algarve you suggest is realy one of the best to discover the touristic region of the south of Portugal. I would recommend everyone to see it in great detail in Driving Algarve TH-cam channel. Thanks.

Is it possible and easy to take train service from Lisboa to Sintra? Spend the night in Sintra then take a train from Sintra to Obidos? Leave Obidos by train to spend the night in Coimbra? Then take a train from Coimbra to Porto?
