Michael NEVER wanted this! Funny how Sony was pressuring Michael (when he was alive) to sell the catalogue. Now that he's deceased, Sony receives it. John Branca knew Michael would be irate if he found his catalogue sold to the very company that he had major issues with if he were still here.

What people don't know and don't care about is that he owns the rights to the jacksons material and catalog he bought the rights to his brothers share back in the late 90s and early 2000s and Jackson 5 master tapes

@@TheFDream He refused to surrender his reputation & status that made him extremely legendary and maybe repentance after he was done with his shows in London if he had lived long enough to endure it. And maybe convert his life to Jesus Christ full time. But Sony didn't want any of that to happen despite an outstanding level of profitability

Paul McCartney was asked by lawyer of Michael Jackson if he was bidding for the ATV Beatles and Paul refused as "too pricey". Instead Yoko Ono was happy that Michael was ownjng the ATV Beatles.
At the first place, Paul was very upset that MJ owned Beatle’s catalog and commercialized them on some occasions. Meanwhile he felt helpless that quote “ he was the rich baby, because of Thriller”

That man has got to be turning in his grave... Sony seriously phucc'd up, but their time is comin'... Once Thriller was selling like crazy (because this, next to Off The Wall launched him into SUPER stardom), he knew the squeeze was gonna get put on him...but he was also a very shrewd businessman who didnt play when it came to his career...
That's why he was murdered
They should NEVER EVER sell his catalog!!! I don't believe he would have ever sold it himself; therefore, they should honor his wishes. I was very angry to find out that after he died, they sold that 50% he owned back to Sony. That was like a slap in his face!

251 Beatles songs were in ATV music publishing company plus a lot more other artists. It's not only about the Beatles. They, Sony, would not had payed 750 mill. in 2016, anyway under its price. In 1995 MJ had to do this move, to merge with Sony, forming Sony/ATV music publishing company, 50/50 ownership . So as you see 11 yrs later they managed to take over the rest. Meanwhile his stake of 12 % in EMI publishing company was sold too. And half of his Mijac, which is another big asset, it's not only his work there. Let's not downplay what is anyway on public record on hearsay. There is a book named ,,Michael Jackson inc" plus lot of infos from serious paper online.
Let me state something: Michael would never sale the catalog so for you to make it seem like he did tells me you did not do any research. You did some searching on google and made assumptions. Michael did not sell the catalog, his executives did and that was something MJ would never do. Michael own publishing rights, half of it, was sold to Sony in February, again, something MJ would never do. Michael was murdered because he did not want to sell his assets.
