Juuuust got mine going. I have never had or heard a smoother idling nitro, it's crazy! I don't wanna brag but one of our local hobby shops has a BUNCH of good older engines. O.S. .12 cv, .15 cv, .18 tm and the .21 tm. Wasp .26, I have only just begun to explore this place.
This only applies to this motor. But it has so much pinch (tightness) that I fear for con rod damage during the first while I have never seen such a tight motor
The traxxas break in method is the worst thing you can do for your engine. I been doing this 25 plus years man. Traxxas wants your engine broke in wrong so it breaks. That way you buy more. It’s unbelievable how many people don’t know how to properly break in a rc engine. My engines last me over ten gallons. Well good luck with that. I won’t bother explaining the break in. You guys are the pros. Idle is way to high man and your running lean.
Don’t listen to these fools. I have had 2 of these engines for my revo and they run hot always during breakin. Like 250+. And then once she gets broken in hood she will run cooler but still nowhere near os speeds and other buggy engines I have. Keep doin what your doin. There’s many ways to skin a cat so to speak.
To much oil made it run hot , the fuel cools the engine too much oil makes the engine work harder to displace that extra oil . Call me stupid if u want ,most people don't really understand the way it really works
We added 2 Oz to the gallon fuel was 30/10 I doubt what we did caused the motor to run hot. The pinch on this motor is insane. Wait til you watch the follow up video it's running 230 tank 2
Tight motor on a smoking hot day wasn't taking any chance. Not when it comes to a 340 $ motor. I also run 20/16 basher fuel in my hpi. Runs great. We only changed to about 12 % and it was closer to about 50 ml we added
@terryshrives8322 Contrary to your comment, the first thing we did was richen the motor. About 2 full turns on high and low needles from factory. We attempted to control temp by richening the motor. Not our first rodeo or ignorance.
Cool RC and engine, nice first run
sounds good
Great video bro. Sounds great. Have fun . The break in process is always the relaxing snd best time. Stay safe
Awesome day all thanks to nitro rc life!❤ Been waiting for a long time to put this o.s. on the revo! And Baby Nitro makes an appearance!!! Awesome

Still learning this motor but awesome idol as well. Responds to adjustments
hi man.
im curious why you didnt use the traxxas orignal method for the break in?

Oh forsure this engine now has a gallon and running perfect
To much oil made it run hot , the fuel cools the engine too much oil makes the engine work harder to displace that extra oil

Man, you guys really have no idea. That was fat? it was lean, thus the overheating. It wasn’t pinch. It’s called ignorance.

@@SLC_nitro Yeah, I noticed you do things the same way time after time, even though it’s not your first rodeo…..
