Great video, but it would be really helpful if you could add captions in both English and other languages (particularly Spanish) so ELL students can learn from this.
The story appears to be a metaphor for Patrick driving something much like snakes from Ireland. Some believe the evil had to do with the Church (Catholic). Most possibly, those who did not accept the Church and Jesus. However, it may have been, that Patrick actually drove all the snakes from Ireland, not just those who slithered. Besides the metaphor is rather simplistic, as snakes are rather more forthright in their nature. The two-legged type can be far more evil.
Saint Patrick’s life story and deeds were an invention by a Gaelic Irish Bishop and anchorite ( hermit ) named Áed of Sletty, who in the 7th century decided that Irish Christianity badly needed an evangelist saint so as to neatly solidify the conversion of Ireland to Christianity within the life story of heroic figure . Áed of Sletty commissioned Muirchú moccu Machtheni-a monk and also (laughably, it must be pointed out) a historian , to invent Saint Patrick hundreds of years after his supposed existence .
Very inaccurate. Not based on Historical evidence from the time, but the Armagh monks of the seventh century who created myths about Patrick to increase the power and prestige of Armagh.
"A man who suffered greatly and then allowed his interpretation of religion & his desperation to justify radical reform in a land where he was held as a slave." Why is there a long history of the Church finding & latching onto the traumatized to spread what they call love?

Thank you for wonderful work.
Glory To The Triune GOD😊
I really like this. However nowhere in Ireland is 200 miles from the sea.
It doesn't take a month to sail from there to England either.
Maybe not as the crow flies, but people on foot can seldom travel so directly.
I love this story
