The BRICs have decided to shift away from the dollar completely and develop their own gold-backed currency as its replacement. This idea was first teased at the 2022 BRICs summit by Russian President, Vladimir Putin, but it seems like it’s now finally set in motion. This year’s summit brought forth the possibility of the dollar losing its international dominance through the confirmation of the BRIC's intentions of creating a gold-backed currency.
