      Shake speare Not $10.000 like you said, but $10,000 like I said will indeed buy it all. I added up his links then added close to a thousand for desk and chair, then like $1500 - $3000 or something for the PC. I forgot exacts, it was a while ago

    • @ethanreinsch4716
      @ethanreinsch4716 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Shake speare What? Back Up, Bitch. Mac alone costs near $5k? All In One Macs cost between $1.1k and $3.6k for MAX spec (which I doubt he has max spec). So you can shove that 5k up ya bum. And did you just tell me the desk costs about the same? Desk? $5k? DESK? $5k? We're talking about a desk, not a 2017 Car.

      Just cause you want a flat frequency, doesn't mean you want non-existent bass. You would want to hear the low end as well as having a flat response.

    Hey Lew, sound quality improvements :
    - Lower your chair, tweeters should be at ear level
    - Speakers should be equidistant regarding your head and themselves
    - That glass panel behind is a terrible idea, move the desk far far way from it and put diffusion on your back wall
    - Your first reflection spot is actually your desk, try to keep it as narrow as possible
    - Decouple your speakers from your desk, simple stands are not enough

  • @lewispouncey6840

    an actual producer could probably do more on a smart phone then he could ever do with that setup, all this gear worth thousands and a channel dedicaed to it yet he never uploads anything on it and has never released anything.
    I like Lew, he makes good unboxing videos and he's got a fun personallity but the guy should really stay in his own lane and stop making these kids think that you need equipment like a $800 MIDI keyboard to make good music just because he's been sponsored by the company. music production whatever the genre or style is not about the equipment you have but how you use it, all you need is a basic setup (computer, decent monitors, software) and most importantly a good musical knowledge and understanding on how to get the ideas from your head on to a project and not get caught up in all this unnecessary bolocks that corporate music companys pay people like this guy to say.

    For the record, many complaining that layout / monitor placement isn't ideal. This spot is used for sketching stuff out and recording video first, these monitors for me are really behaving more like live amps right now. This is more of a live performance setup than anything else. Obviously if the intent was mixing / mastering I'd alter the layout.

      Well, he didn't show any DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) software where the mixing usually happens inside the DAW and not in hardware. Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton.. Ableton is my weapon of choise and part of acoustic side, I don't listen that loud and I got that 60°*ish triangle so the distance in between studiomonitors and I have the same distance.

    • @origintrackz5235
      @origintrackz5235 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      exactly, you want the monitor straight ahead in the best case you would want 2 of them one dedicated to the mixer the other for arrangements(track out). like it or not your gonna spend most of your time staring at a screen when producing very little on the hardware itself.

    I know there are a lot of starting producers who are jealous and would love of this kind of setup (including me) , so i just want to say to all of you that (many producers will say the same) a good studio like this isn't a necessity to start producing. all those tools are just easier ways to bring out your ideas faster, and also a great environment that can boost creativity. But starting with a laptop, a DAW and good plugins you can already do pretty much everything, those tools are just there to fill the gap between an "idea" and the "final product". And ideas aren't something you can buy, those tools won't necessarily make you pro. Don't give up

    This is excessive. I think he's missing the point that is inadvertently being made, and some people will undoubtedly think as a result they need *all* of this shit to go and start producing (electronic) music. Bollocks. All you need, is a computer with a recent operating system able to run a DAW, a DAW and maybe some plugins. A decent pair of headphones helps, yes, but in time. Maybe a monitor with a bit more real estate too. But a roli keyboard? Nah. Not until you've started earning some serious dough from what you do. Pouring money into what is essentially a boutique keyboard that'll never take off and some wireless headphones/fancy lighting just seems pointless to me, and will so fuck all to help your creative process----which is the thing that produces the hits, not the gear!

    The HS-8 are perhaps one of the best studio monitors you can get for the money. It's about $800 a pair and that's cheap for the amount of resolution, volume, and bass extension that you get from them. They're also powered, so you don't have to worry about getting a good amplifier for them. The one they have is plenty.

  • @q9nine
    @q9nine 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I almost got the Yamaha HS8s for my monitors, but they just happened to also have the harder to find Focal Alpha 65s in the same sound room. Gave them a listen. Game over. The Alpha 65s are the best sounding speakers I've ever heard, and trumped the HS8s on the low-end even with the smaller 6" subs. Focal normally makes super top end monitors (many thousands of dollars) but decided to go a bit more consumer with the Alphas. Give them a listen. If you want the big brothers with the 8" sub, they have the Alpha 80s.
    Also, if you're still doing the music thing, might want to move your studio gear around for better room acoustics, and invest in some acoustic paneling.

  • @Zimtack

      If you're passionate about it, it's not a waste, it's an investment. Because if you truly love something or really want to do something with it, it will pay itself back in the long run. I make music as well, and every single dollar I've invested in it, has paid itself back

      ah come on man im really not offending anybody but for his skills its just waaaay too much of equipment.. thats the problem people look at your equip and not on your talent

      +elektroletsfail I don't anymore. I used to play for several hours a day and it was really bad for me so I just quit cold turkey.

    For all the people bashing him about the cost of his display; it's his hobby guys. I actually think it's cool he has such a lax and fun profession that also allows him to do stuff he wants to like this. For an amature musician, this kind of lifestyle, one that allows you to invest into your music like this, it's a dream. I'm happy he gets to do the stuff he wants to do with his money and still be able to live comfortably. Keep it up Lew.

  • @mguanipa2
    @mguanipa2 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    please lou don't do this. Don't be your stereotypical TH-camr which after several million views and huge subscribers they channel turns into some music shit. Stay true to what u do man and I understand its a passion for you but as a long time viewer I would hate for this channel to be plagued by uploads of your recent "On fire and dope" mixtapes.

    • @Reaper99kf
      @Reaper99kf 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      He's not doing that, he's made a separate channel for his music production so that both his music and tech vids don't get mixed, he's just letting people on this channel know about the other channel in case they're into that stuff.

    • @mguanipa2
      @mguanipa2 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kamil Fahed i hope so because i would hate for the channel to get turned into trash. and most importantly he still does videos because other youtubers I've seen when going into music just focuses on that

      @tr0llbuster292 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Camzay
      It really isn't, you have to route and chain everything mainly in FL studio. Ableton does it for you. Not only that, but Ableton has one tray for all of the plugins rather than multiple windows. Yes preference does change a lot which is why I use Ableton Live 10 Suite while also owning FL Studio Producers edition.

    • @geoffreyboener
      @geoffreyboener 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Months later buys FL Studio and learns all about cutoff filters and stuff like that. Actually producing beats of the same quality or better on a $200 laptop and an old pair of Beats Solo HDs. Nice one Lew.

      +Jayden Thompson (DarkHaunts) so lew runs ads before every video, so that's a view, so a million view video = 20,000 dollars. what's your point.

    • @pkbeats
      @pkbeats 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Tanner Mcclune 1 million views will not get you 20,000 dollars. It's more complicated, but for 1 million views you'll probably get 1,000 to 5,000 bucks. It varies depending on cpm (cost per thousand views).
