Trivia : Descending is my favorite song from Fear Inoculum so I challenged security on recording this one, last I heard it live was in 2019 European Tour
Made sure to have my phone hidden by my body, nearly got a hand cramp by the end lol
Managed to go unnoticed for 14 minutes somehow
I had to crop the video to 720p-ish because obviously I could not frame it as good as I would have wanted, sorry about that
those extended lyrics that Maynard adds totally takes that section to a whole new level!
These lyrics add so much to the song. Too bad it's not on the album. Hopefully they'll include this in a future release.

Edit: I liked it, wasn't too much. I wish the recording was better to hear the actual lyrics but I think he just chanted some of the previous lyric and the "STAY ALIVE" right before Dannys GONG SMASH was fantastic!!!
We need a live album or two SOOO BAD. There are other extended versions that I want to hear with quality sound. I don't have to tell my fellow Tool nutjobs what songs because yall know so I wont list them but...PLEASE TOOL give us what we want.

You're welcome ! This song is the song I listened to the most in the last few years, heard countless live recordings (by the way listen to Des Moines live, IEM recording, absolutely fantastic), had to take the risk 'cause I need a memory of this one night there.
Last time I got Descending live was in 2019 in Lisbon.
In 2022 Paris, they swapped Descending with freaking 7empest, that was awesome but I was craving for Descending still. That said, it makes one of those people that got to experience every Fear Inoculum songs live.
I always thought leaving the second half as instrumental was a mistake. I think Maynard has realised that there was more he could have done.
And I'm very happy with it!

This song needed these lyrics on the record. FI has some awkward song that sound unfinished. This makes this song god tier.

Nice work..but i have a question.... why in europe concert they not permit to make video? i will be in Florence to watch them and i dont think its possibile to stop all people to have video by phone
Because it's very annoying to have everyone raise their hands to record with their phone. Also, it's to make you focus on the show, not on holding your phone and looking at the screen.
Sure, I want to record because the show is fucking awesome (and Tool for some reason doesn't want to release a live album) but it's better for everyone if I don't.
They enforce this rule in US too, the only place they cannot enforce that rule is in festivals. It's shit cause everyone puts their phones up.
