"To be or not to be" reminds me of the Easter "egg" analogy Maynard mentioned of Easter on his Puscifer channel, but it's interesting if you spin a pyramid rapidly; you see a cone, you spin it faster you see the egg. I'm assuming he said: "Why try not to stay alive", meaning TOOL might stay intact of making another album. But that's my assumption.

Just once. Just ONE TIME…. I need to see Tool live. Been hanging on every song since the early 90’s but I’ve never been to a show. What a fuckin crime.
Absolute masters…all of them. To have FOUR individual geniuses…both technically and creatively… able to collaborate at all is a frigging miracle. No wonder Maynard says every mix is a fight to the death.

I've seen them 3 times since 2020 and this is by far the best show of all three. They age like fine wine 🍷

Same as you I have been a fan since the 90s and finally saw them live in 2023, and soon again in 2024, just 3 days before this show. Absolutely incredible! And very loud, lol will can’t wait to see them again in the future. Hopefully at the Sphere in Vegas!

This was the best Tool show i've ever been to/heard. The guys are always on point, but Maynard was just exceptional.

Saw them in Austin a few weeks back. There were many, many high points, but Descending was probably the most thrilling live performance of my entire life. Exquisite.
It's definitely a great performance.
I saw them in Spokane in mid October then again in Vegas a week ago. Both times they played Descending and it's my favorite song so I was really happy. But the crowd didn't cheer like I expected them to. I think people don't quite understand the full meaning of the song.
This song is a masterpiece.
Interesting. I saw them on Halloween, and I truly hate to admit that Descending was the only song of the set that I felt was lackluster. And it’s my favorite song. My fiancé even noticed the same thing and she is not into Tool.
@dirtbagian same here man I kinda thought that was a filler song for the set. Gives Maynard some time to relax. But after seeing them play it 3 times, it's definitely grown on me and is a killer Song to hear live

They never disappoint live . 4 of the most unique musicians found each other and it was glorious.
It's always a treat seeing tool. You know you're getting actual musicians playing actual instruments with no backing tracks or vocal backing tracks. Everything is genuine

Absolutely love this song and loved hearing it live a couple times. Maybe I just got used to the original version because I find the extended lyrics to be distracting.
You know what, I agree with that. Maybe, like u said, it's because we've listened to the original alot, but I felt like that spot should definitely be quiet just for the music.

@franciscosaldivar9737 IDK they also ended with Stinkfist but didn't play the Extended Stinkfist version I heard in the last 3 shows I went to. Guess they just want to mix it up. (If you haven't heard the Extended Stinkfist, check out the 2019 video from Connecticut)
They didn't do this in Charlotte either. I think they reward good crowds with it
@dangusrangus they probably got bored since these were the last 2 shows they did. And if I'm not mistaken, Maynard said thats a wrap for the US fear Inoculum tour after 5 years so maybe they're taking it off the setlist
They played it in Vegas on the 18th of February. That was their last show. But they didn't do the extended version in Vegas or in Spokane on Oct. 15.

I like the bit when he keeps reciting the one chorus but the part before the symbol smash interferes with Danny doing exactly that, so in a perfect world that’d be the only bit I dropped. That said, saw them in Manchester and it was chilling hearing these vocals, epic.
@@Cundy344 I think it's perfect in an operatic sense. It's a climax after all. Voice and gong emphasize each other, instead of being antagonists.
