Your skin looks gorgeous with and without foundation! Thank you fir such a detailed review. As much as I ADORE Lisa E and her all her lippies and blush…this foundation is really tricky. Shade 9 is slightly light on me and shade 11 slightly too deep and yellow. I enjoyed the coverage and finish with fingers, loved the fact that it was self setting and long lasting, but found it drying if I didn’t use very rich moisturizer first. Still playing with it, but for the price shouldn’t have to work this hard.
So tricky! For me, I don't find it drying, but I throw a lot of stuff on my face and layer hydration and use sunscreens that are not drying. But I do prefer fingers over brush and it doesn't behave well over thick primers. I think color is the hardest thing, because you can't just change your skincare for that. Thanks for sharing with everyone!!
@@TheHoodedLid I do love the way it looks more beautiful as the day wears on AND I love the fact that it functions as a concealer over my corrector. In general, I’m glad I have it ❤️
Such a thorough review! It’s so interesting to see the experience with the same foundations for different skins. In my experience, foundation performed better. I find that it needs regular temperature to set. Then it creates sort of a mesh. I let sunscreen set for 15-20 minutes or so before application usually. I do use Asian sunscreens. I do agree that it takes more pumps to build up with a brush. I prefer brush anyway. I was able to get the most even application. There’s something in finger application that doesn’t work for me. Also, I was struggling to get right color from Light-Medium. 10 was the most neutral on me. Then I got Light 2 swatches and 5, 6, 7 were too light, but 8 hit it perfectly. So I ordered 8 as well. I think I’ll use 8 during winter while my skin is lighter. I’m curious if you tried 8 and how it would work for you. I’m still waiting for 10 and want to see over longer period of time if it still works for my skin tone. My daughter has a darker skin tone and different undertone then I and she usually struggles to find the perfect shade. She found it in this foundation. So Lisa did deliver it for olive skin tones. Also I did notice that it got better with time.
Your skin is really beautiful. I got this shade 11 and it works good. I appreciate your reviews and love the analytical approach. You really are very pretty. I think I’m more yellow than you so I can see how this pulled yellow on you
I just found your channel while looking for reviews on the Givenchy foundation.. your voice is sooo soothing, calm i can’t explain. You’re absolutely beautiful 😍!! I love the fact that you test foundation over SPF 🧴!!
Hi, I have very similar undertones to you. No 4 was a perfect match for me. I had never heard of peach undertones for foundation. Normally, just like you, I get the neutral. Peach foundation works perfectly for people with yellow undertones and surface redness. I never knew this, and the foundation was a revelation. I mix 1 pump with moisturizer/ primer for a super thin layer. Then a second pump for red areas and the peach cancels out any redness without having to use a thick layer, but also blends beautifully with my skin which is unaffected by redness. Thin layers are the key, and when it gets hot, a thin layer of powder on oily areas later in the day resolves that problem too😊
I actually agree that for some reason peach undertones seem to work for me with some brands! I couldn't figure out why - but I have a few that do work. For my depth of tone, there is no peach offering, though. So glad you found a good shade!! It's such a pretty foundation.
@@TheHoodedLid I do love your thorough and honest reviews. Also, due to my similar colouring I feel happy to get things that work well for you, so I do check in before I get new makeup. Hopefully you will be able to get the right shade eventually. That way you can use a little only where needed. I always find it amazing that make up artists often don't do the whole face - but for that you need the perfect colour😊
@@luminouskaleidoscope73 YES! With the perfect color we can just apply where we need it! BUT, most make-up artists work on young models who don't yet have a lifetime of bad habits and sunbathing showing up on their skin - lol
Thank you for this - very helpful. I use no 14 in Lisa Eldridge. I normally buy neutral foundations because like you I have a hint of yellow undertone. Number 14 is listed as having rosy undertones but it's a perfect match, not red/pink at all. Goes beautifully under By Terry hyaluronic power and Charlotte Tilbury flawless filter. I always have to blot oil off my T-zone by lunchtime with any foundation!
The red (12) was the one shade I didn't try because it looked so dark and red. Sadly, I tossed the bubble - will just another for sure and try all of them!!
I find that applying a mattifying primer on top of foundation works. I just do a very small amount and apply it in a tapping motion. I have dry skin so I layer hydrating skincare and that can look shiny. The shine can emphasize imperfections like texture and wrinkles.
Thanks so much for this video! I've watched many reviews of this foundation and they all confirm that it's a pass for me. I'm not even going to bother with the samples.
Oh, no! I think it's beautiful on the skin - it's just a bit fussy. No brush, no primer is best. And the colors are not working for me. But your skin color may be different!
I got 15 neutral golden undertones….it is genius !! Amazing gorgeous fabulous! I went to Lisa’s pop up shop in Covent Garden London and got swatched so I also got a 13 in light medium ….I am not in the kind of heat you are experiencing so nothing is melting on me…it is super so far ps: her shop is amazing 🤩
@@TheHoodedLid I think each card are variations on a theme of shade…I will say the 15 was slightly too dark and 13 was more my tone in winter so far….but they all blend in well as they are so light and airy type make up….I liked the colour you chose on you at the end of your video as it gave a flawless satin Matt glow 🙋♀️🇬🇧
The color looked lovely on you, not yellow at all. You looked like you matched. I've been playing with the foundation samples for several weeks (ordered extras). Turns out my summer color is 16, which seems very olive but blends beautifully into my skin and really "connects" the face to the neck. I hadn't thought how important that is until looking at Lisa's tutorial on how to find the best shade. Only issue is that it is now just slightly too dark since I'm losing my tan. After wearing it daily for several days it is now among my favorites....never looks patchy, blends and wears beautifully, and actually doesn't separate of slide off my face like some others (and I'm combo/oily). It s probably going to end up being my every-day favorite foundation. Edit: i've worn this over bare skin and over sunscreen, and over my supergoop SS. I barely use a pump for my whole face.....using a brush, and not needing any effort to blend.
You're the second person who said this - I think I will get when back in stock to see. On all these tests I never used my concealer, until today - and my concealer looks WAY to light with this - so perhaps I'm lighter. It surprises me because Lisa always used Aqua Lumiere in B20 which is too light for me (I'm between 20 and 30) so I assume she was more fair than me!
On camera, your skin looked amazing each time. I didn't notice it being too yellow or golden once it was blended, but that could be how it appeared on camera. I found shades 7 and 10 (both neutrals) work for me, so I ordered the 7 and I'm happy with it. I have yet to try it with a super dewy sunscreen though. I like the way it wears and I've had to wear a mask for 3 hours at a time a couple days a week and it hasn't worn off. I also like how the pump doesn't over dispense and cause wasting of the product. I like applying it with fingers or the BK Beauty 101 brush. As always, thank you for such a thorough review!
I could not get the bubble samples but I went to the pop up store in London and had the foundation matched by one of the sale assistants. Not very helpful as the insisted on a too dark “neutral golden” tone by 2-3 over my skin tone. Looking myself, the foundations that matched me in tone weren’t the right undertone so far too yellow or too olive- not a neutral or leaning very slightly yellow which is also my best undertone match.Looking in her website there is a shade recommendation tool based on other foundation brands. Searching the ones that work for me (and are mostly neutral) I get directed to the shade 9 which is a strong olive undertone- very green- which is also what I found in store. Correct in tone but not undertone. I’m glad she catered for the too often missed extremes of the skin tone spectrum but I don’t think necessarily everyone will find a perfect match. Many of the neutrals are labelled “neutral golden”
I noticed that about neutral golden, which seems to be contradictory. I find that shade matching programs can be helpful, but some are lacking. The one she uses didn't have my some of foundations available to choose from for a match.
I decided to pass on this...tried it (samples) for 3 separate days and every time on my mature skin it felt drying halfway thru the day. Also wasn't 100% happy with the colors, I need to be 100% to pay that much for a foundation. Thanks for this great video!
@@TheHoodedLid 100% agree! I have a drawer full of foundations I've tried that aren't right. What does help though is swatching them on my face/neck next to each other. I did this with #10 which I thought was a perfect match (a neutral), and it was so yellow compared to other foundations I swatched right next to it. No wonder I wasn't happy with it in the end! The search continues but so far Lancome works the best for me.
I am very happy that she included free foundation samples in her fall launch. I would be the lightest shade in the neutral undertone, BUT I also found that there wasn't a "true" neutral. It leaned obviously yellow on me and just wasn't a suitable color match whatsoever unfortunately. I wear Lancome teint idole in 0N85 or Estee Lauder double wear in Alabaster 01 and those are neutrals for me. I sheer those foundations out with moisturizer to get light coverage and found the Lisa Eldridge to be too finicky to work with.
I have to say this foundation looked lovely on you. I didn't notice the colour being too off except the one time you were in your cami and you said the camera wasn't balanced. Overall, I thought it was lovely. I especially liked the sheer coverage with the buffing brush. I haven't purchased as yet but I do have some samples to try.
It's really lovely as a foundation - I just wish the neutral didn't pull olive/gray. I imagine it will be better for me in the summer just as I prefer the Reboot in summer, and this is much closer to the Reboot in it's undertone than my other "go to" foundations!
@@TheHoodedLid I wondered if the shade 8 with Neutral peach undertone may have worked out a closer match for you. Is that not a mix of yellow & pink? I remember one of your other videos you mentioning Peach can work for you in some foundations. Its worth testing the sample card if you were intending of reordering from the site. I picked up both sample cards - 5 to 8 in light and 9 to 12 in Light medium as I often find myself in between those two and couldn't decide between shades 8 & 10 so I really want to try both. If you are a person that likes to mix, you can play around with the samples and mix some of the rosy into some of the neutral and then it won't be on the gray side.
@@carolynlindenmayer3577 I will be ordering samples when they are back in stock, for sure! I'll try the 5-8, which I thought was too light for me, but you never know
YES. Oh my gosh this. I tried the 10 neutral and it’s not neutral like I’m used to. It just looked off on my skin. I was so upset to not be able to find a match in this range at all. Not even something close that would look good enough
I had to swatch for 3 days before I chose my colour--it was nearly a tie between 2 shades but one did look better on me than the other. I think that the undertones are excellent; I do not understand why you would complain about that. Yet this was a thorough review, many thanks. :)
I disagree, there are hardly any rosy shades in the fair-light range and I cannot get away with any sort of yellow, green or peach so I couldn't find a shade match 😭Perhaps it's great for the majority of neutral/warm folks though
Spot on: I have so many foundations and all look grey on me. Dior 2N looks grey, armani looks grey, ysl looks grey. My saver is bourjois healthy mix foundation 52. The best tone and undertone. And seamless on the skin
I appreciate all the ways you tried this foundations. I could not get the samples to work on my skin so did not pick up the full size. It’s a shame but I hope her new forthcoming tinted moisturiser will work better on my skin. You are so close to 10k😀
Many shades also looked grey on me. I would like to retry the samples when they are restocked. My coloring is similar to yours but I’m more fair; I may pick 3 or 5. Even though I’m combo-oily, I also liked it without a primer.
I’m a year too late on this… recently I ordered number 10… the models looked the same as my tone. I put it on and oh my, I looked like I had a thick mask on… so I mixed in my Chanel summer shade in B40 and it helped some… I’m giving it another go and ordered shade 15 or 16. I hope it works out. The texture isn’t really my style but I’m wondering if I get a darker shade and use less, perhaps it will magically work this time. Thank you for your honest video.❤
The details are great on this review - I'm in a very hot and humid area so I couldn't use this since sweatiness is part of daily life! I saw that you used the kosas cloud powder. How do you think it compares to the by Terry hydra powder? I currently have the kosas powder and it's good but I'm looking around for something even better for dry skin.
You always looked warm to me. I think Lisa has shades with golden undertones and shades with neutral golden undertones (11 is one of them). So, what I want to say - it looks great on my screen (it looks like perfect shade for You), but You know better, important is like it looks in reality. Givenchy looked like the best match. (On Your hand.) Your video was really helpfull. And I always think- You look stunning!
I know that this is older but I bought the same colour as you but sadly it hardly use it because it’s too dark. Undertones I keep trying to learn but with old severe scars from a year car accident, and redness it’s hard to tell. I’m currently on a lot of steroids and having chemotherapy, does that affect your skin tone ?
I think we have similar undertones but I am quite a bit more pale, and I found her #2, which is described as rosy undertones, worked for me. In a lot of foundations, Dior in particular, the "rosy" undertones are simply orange on me. I thought Lisa's "rosy" was much more subtle. Whereas Lisa's yellows are more obvious, the rosy-pinks are more not. I'm on the fence about buying the foundation but I do think it is a very good product. I adore Lisa's lipsticks, and I own many. I think Lisa is actually worlds more talented when it comes to color than other luxury British brands (I'm looking at you, CT! CT is terrible with describing colors and all her lipsticks turn orange on me and foundations are too yellow!) and Lisa's lipstick colors are precisely as described.
I figured I would be #2 in hers, but have the same problem with foundations for cool undertones still being too yellow. Did you buy the foundation? The rare beauty 140C, or covergirl/olay 205/210 mixed together is a perfect shade but the formula isnt good for me. Ive been looking for years but can’t find the right colour and formula in one product.
Thank you for the wear tests of this new foundation. The fact it doesn’t wear well in hot weather leads me to think there is a high oil or emollient content in this foundation. I never use emollient foundations in hot weather because they melt off my nose and deposit into my pores. With respect to the shade, I agree it is too yellow for you. Since I am neutral with red overtones, I am going to pass on this, in spite of the beautiful packaging and the hype surrounding this launch - as a matter of fact, I have yet to purchase any Lisa Eldridge products, which are super hyped on YT. I tend to choose foundation shades in person. So far, the best match for me is Sisley’s oil-free foundation in 0+ vanilla. That e-said, I mostly wear tinted mineral sunscreen as my foundation. Cheers!
I have to say - I'm not sure if it was the fault of the foundation OR the primer under it. I never wear primers, and this was the thicker kind, so I don't have a reference point from which to form an opinion.
@@TheHoodedLid So will you be doing a wear test in hot weather without primer? (I believe that LE is planning to release a primer to complement her foundation.)
I have some products from Lisa - they are all good. The best for me is the blush and lip liner and also the gloss. The lipstick is good- but Im not a big matte lipsticks "wearer" - I prefer crem formulas. But it is comfortable. The luxorious lucent formula is nice too, but I have other lipsticks that are more pigmented or more glossy, that I like more. But it's really nice. (I have Kitten Mischief, maybe I should try other colors.) I don't have any new colors from the last launch and the neutral colors I have weren't warm enough for me. The highlight is nice (I have Crystal Nebula) but I personaly would prefer something whitout shimmer. I don't have the foundation. I would like to visit her pop up, but it's not possible now for me, so I will wait for the cards restock. You see, Im very demanding. But overal I think - her makeup line is a nice edition to what we have.
I watched this entire video and I don’t really wear foundation. With that said, have you tried the MAKE UP FOR EVER matte velvet powder foundation? I watch Jennifer Wan here on TH-cam and she’s been raving about it forever. I picked it up w the Sephora sale. Used it this morning to set my sunscreen and omg 😱. Love at first use, it’s breathtaking. I know you adore the MUFE reboot, have you tried this powder?
I haven't tried it. I'm afraid I don't really know how to use powder foundations and the few I tried just didn't look good on my skin (the Bare Minerals made my skin itch - lol)
The lighter bubble packs were sold out when I went to order so I decided it would be best to wait. I have a tiny bit of yellow in my skin as well and some peach and some pink! It is so hard for me to find a good match. I usually just go with neutral which is almost but not quite right, I will be interested to see if I can find a match when those sample cards come back in stock.
I’m the same shade as you in this and it went very yellow on me. I’m very disappointed with it 😌 I’m definitely a neutral and it was way too yellow on me. It looked fine on me but after about an hour, just awful 😣
This is a golden shade, and I usually go for neutral. But the neutral shade pulled olive (green/gray) on me, so I went with this one. I feel like there is not an ideal shade for me in this line, unfortunately.
I love the color of the Dior on your hand and I think your face/color looks great throughout the video where you're explaining. Not sure if you have that foundation on there or not?! *courtney
Both 10 and 11 looks pretty good on me , but with 10 ,I feel like there is a layer of makeup ( I don't know how to explain), and with 11 I don't see that layer. I want to buy it badly but not sure , torn down between 10 and 11. I think I have to have the sample card again.
I think the shades are very strange. Looking at the models on the website I was sure I would be 12 so ordered card LM1 but when it arrived 12 was way too dark. I ordered another card in L2 and matched to no.7 which is the neutral shade on that card. I bought the bottle but it hasn't arrived yet and now I'm nervous it's going to be too light. Someone else on YT also said the shades run dark. I think the shade you're using looks good on you.
Yes, I was confused by the models as well. In LM, the model for the neutral shade looked red and the model for the red shade look neutral. I never did try that shade (tried the red) because it looked VERY red in the bubble.
I remember Lisa said her face has more red, but her body has quite a bit of yellow - so she matches her body (to avoid the floating head, "hi my face doesn't match anything look!) From her videos, I thought she was more neutral, leaning neither red nor yellow.
@@TheHoodedLid Yes, true, her face does always have a tinge of pink to it. I remembered when you first applied the foundation and how it neutralized the pink in your face, and also that you are only slightly yellow- toned. However, when you later showed more of your body with the foundation brought further down, it did seem too yellow when in comparison to your décolléte. If you can't return, definitely try selling it on Poshmark! You did mention this, but I would indeed use your favourite neutral foundations as reference swatches when you get your new bubble cards. 😊 That's actually what I always do; I take my favourite foundation with me when I go out shopping OR, I look up numerous TH-cam live swatch videos. A foundation matching tip I can share: swipe 3 shades and bring them from the cheek, down the jawline and onto the neck. You always want your base to match whatever skin is visible. 😊 Love your soothing voice! You remind me of a younger, softer Kathleen Turner. There's an exotic and sophisticated quality to you. 😘
I purchased the samples of this foundation and like you, it was not easy to work with. It looked amazing for about the first few hours and then it began to breakdown and look terrible!
Yes, I find this one very difficult. Certain areas of the skin looked beautiful - but I didn't think it looked "overall beautiful" and I can't put my finger on in.
It’s a pass for me, like others I tried it every which way and it just didn’t work, drying and patchy on my dry skin.😢 For the price I shouldn’t have to work so hard to get it to work.
I'm torn on this - on me, it looks beautiful, but the color is so off. I do moisturize a lot, so I don't find it drying, but several people have say the same as you!
I just can not make this foundation work for me. I have tried everything. But NO! I gave up, a little bit disapointed. Now, I am waiting for Lisas tinted moisturizer instead. Hope it will be better for my mature skin 👍.
@@TheHoodedLid I’m the ashiest person ever haha. Most are a bit red. But some pinkish red, some orange red. It just happened that 9 is orange red and 11 is pinkish red. 5 to me is too light but pinky. It looks to be your skin tone. You should give it a try! I think you have cool (pink) tone skin.
I didn't try a natural brush, but generally I find water based foundations can do both very well, and silicone based foundations are better with synthetics!
I'm really disappointed in the shade range. I know everyone says "but but 40 shades." (Great) BUT, she doesn't have many cool/rosy undertones and I've heard her neutrals pull very yellow. There is shade 2 which is way too light, then next up rosy undertone is medium which is way too dark. Not all but many fair-light need cool undertones so I wasn't able to get one. Peachy is not cool. So bummed
@@TheHoodedLid she does have the one (Shade 2) but there's no fair-light or light rosy so I was surprised too! But I enjoyed your honest thoughts 🥰 Sometimes it's just not meant to be 😂
This does not appear to be a good shade match for you, it does come across too yellow on camera. Hopefully, you will be able to find a more complimentary match when the shade cards come back in stock. At first I thought I was shade 4, which is a peach based shade, but after wearing it for a day it was a little too light for me. The best match for me ended up being shade 7, which is a neutral. I might not have chosen it based on the swatch, but once I blended it out over my face it was lovely. (I have half a drawer full of shades that are not quite right - the ease of being able to try so many shades at home first was so helpful for me.)
I am so glad she offered shade cards. I too thought shade number 4 was the best, but after several days, tried shade number 7. It is gorgeous now. Glad you found your match!
@@live4beauty1 I wear Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder the most in shade 1. Number 5 pulled too yellow on my skin. I have neutral undertones, with surface redness. Shade 7 is a touch too deep, but it’s easier to sheer out then work with wrong undertone. Hope that helps.
I was soooo disappointed with this foundation :( It did not work out for me at all. I, thankfully, bought extra samples with my order so gave it a lot of attempts to work. I tried with primer (not just one, several dif ones) , without primer , with my usual skincare ( I even let my skincare sit for almost an hour - which I never do, cos who has time for that? lol ), I changed up my skincare to give it a better chance, used different beauty blenders & brushes, combo of both - I even used my fingers which I really dont enjoy. Generally I dont put anywhere near this much work into new foundations -No time to baby them, they need to work without this much effort, but I wanted this one to work so badly ! Also tried not setting & setting with powder. The outcome was varying degrees of the same - Set heavily into all pores and lines , was extremely patchy , clung to dry patches , transferred badly on to anything that touched my face, basically it was a hot mess. The 1 time I 'kinda' got it to look semi nice was when I used my fingers to apply and did not use powder - but that was only nice from a distance - up close it was awful . Im in Australia, so we are going into summer here. However, we its been unusually cool. I think the hottest day has been around 32'c & I was wearing this foundation on that day, bad move, it literally melted right off and looked so bad I was actually really embarassed & just wanted to get home to wash it off my face! I have combo, leaning oily skin & it was a complete mess. Highly suggest getting samples before investing in a full bottle . In Australia this foundation is upwards of $100AUD with shipping - Im just glad I tried beforehand & didnt buy full sized.
I'm so sorry - this does not sound like it's a good foundation for you. As you saw, I didn't like this with primer at all - but I don't usually use a primer, so not a problem for me. Good think you got those samples, though!
I do like it - but with finger application over sunscreen, no brushes, no primer. And, the color is a problem for me. Most companies do yellow shades that are TOO yellow and that's the case here. The neutral - which is what I usually do although i do have a yellow undertone - pulled olive/gray on me.
From the samples I found a good colour match but it is hands down the worst foundation I have ever tried - makes my pores look like craters. Used on moisturiser and with primer.
I am definitely interested in more bubble wrap swatches. You and I are almost always the same shade match so this shade would be really yellow on me as well. On a side note, picked up the Givenchy in N350 on your recommendation and I love it!
As a postmenopausal woman, I would never be able to handle 90 degree weather and NO A/C! You are a warrior & queen! ❤
lol - Thank you!!

In my experience, foundation performed better. I find that it needs regular temperature to set. Then it creates sort of a mesh. I let sunscreen set for 15-20 minutes or so before application usually. I do use Asian sunscreens.

I was only able to get one card the day of the release, so I've only tried 9,10, 11, 12. Yes, lots of choices for Olive skin!!
Your skin is really beautiful. I got this shade 11 and it works good. I appreciate your reviews and love the analytical approach. You really are very pretty. I think I’m more yellow than you so I can see how this pulled yellow on you

Thanks for the review Kiki. This is a no-go for me my friend !
I bought the foundation brush from the launch,, and got the card with my potential shades.
I think it looks beautiful! Thank you for a very thorough video.
You are so welcome! The finish and coverage is beautiful. My issue is the color doesn't work super great for me. Maybe it will in the summer...
I find that applying a mattifying primer on top of foundation works. I just do a very small amount and apply it in a tapping motion.
I have dry skin so I layer hydrating skincare and that can look shiny. The shine can emphasize imperfections like texture and wrinkles.
I've never heard of that before!! I need to find one that's not drying though...
Another great in depth review. Good job.
Glad you liked it!
Thank you for a very thorough review. I have similar skin tone to you so your reviews are always helpful. :)
You are so welcome! Glad it was helpful!
thank you for all the effort you put in this video. Helped a lot.
Glad to hear that!
How fun that you got to experience the pop-up. The photos look amazing. So fortunate that you found a color that works, too! Yay!
It's great you found a good shade! No doubt it's beautiful on the skin.
From videos I saw, I think, it works best for the combo skin.
Really useful. I thought you might be the Light 2 bubble pack. We’re similar and I found the light-medium too dark x
Me too. I ended up 5 shades lighter than I thought I would be
You're the second person who said this - I think I will get when back in stock to see.
I'm glad you found one that works!!
I’m debating between these two shades. I’m Fiji in nars. What are you in nars and would 7 or 10 be closer to Fiji?
@@rashasarandah1695 Nars doesn't make a good shade for me. And I feel LE doesn't either! But you may be able to find something!
Color is the hardest thing - we can always toss on more moisturizer (I didn't find it to be drying), but color is so hard to correct!
@@hopecarter4107which one? Lancome and what is your best foundation
You are so gorgeous, thank you for your thoughts ☺️
Thank you so much!! And, you're welcome!
That's a good idea. I often to the shade matching on the Sephora site it's not bad at all. Thank you for the very lovely compliment!!
Same here. All her neutral shades pulled yellow on me too. And there wasn’t really a good true neutral for lighter skin tones.
Such a bummer. I hope she'll consider adding a few undertones.
Love your hair in this video!
Thank you! Just got it cut recently - of course, I'm unable to get the amazing blow out my stylist gets, but I always try - lol
We don't have Bourjois here - I wish we did!
I appreciate all the ways you tried this foundations. I could not get the samples to work on my skin so did not pick up the full size. It’s a shame but I hope her new forthcoming tinted moisturiser will work better on my skin.
You are so close to 10k😀
Yes - kinda exciting to near the 10k mark!! I hope the tinted moisturizer will work better for you!
Many shades also looked grey on me. I would like to retry the samples when they are restocked. My coloring is similar to yours but I’m more fair; I may pick 3 or 5. Even though I’m combo-oily, I also liked it without a primer.
I also want to re-try the samples. I wondering if I should go for the next tone lighter.
@@TheHoodedLid It may be worth it to see.
I had a hard time with this one. Good luck to you, I hope you love it!
This is a heavily siliconic foundation, so it makes a lot of sense that it would stop on the primer - the primer itself is a bunch of silicones 😅
Have you ever tried Cerave AM sunscreen...it dries down quickly, no white cast or shine
Yes I have - I don't find it to be moisturizing at all.
Thank you, Lenka. I think the Givenchy is probably the best match on me as well.
Nearly at 10k 🙌🏻
Great review. If it can't stand to some sweat its not for me.
Sorry which shade number did you use please?
Yes, I found CT colors do not work on me at all. But the red color in the bubble was far, far too dark for me.
I ordered several sample cards and couldn’t find a match. I’m wondering if you have ever tried a slightly pink undertone such as Chanel Beige Rose?
I have tried a few but pink undertone foundations make me look dead
It oxidazed to orange
I'll be buying some more bubbles, to!
@@TheHoodedLid I totally agree with you. Thanks for another great review 😊
I love the color of the Dior on your hand and I think your face/color looks great throughout the video where you're explaining. Not sure if you have that foundation on there or not?! *courtney
Yes, I was wearing the foundation during my "talking"
Both 10 and 11 looks pretty good on me , but with 10 ,I feel like there is a layer of makeup ( I don't know how to explain), and with 11 I don't see that layer. I want to buy it badly but not sure , torn down between 10 and 11. I think I have to have the sample card again.
I want to buy another card, too.
I thought water based formulas were not sweat resistant.
That's so confusing as Lisa Eldridge looks only just lightly leaning yellow undertoned as well. Hmmm... Looking especially gorgeous!!! :)
What colour did you buy ?
No. 11
@@TheHoodedLid Thank you !
I just can not make this foundation work for me. I have tried everything. But NO! I gave up, a little bit disapointed. Now, I am waiting for Lisas tinted moisturizer instead. Hope it will be better for my mature skin 👍.
I didn't know she was doing a tinted moisturizer!
@@TheHoodedLid yes, she is working on it. She told in one of her latest videos. And I am really looking forward to it. 🥰
I’m olive and 7 is perfectly ashy for me. 9 pulled orange, 11 pulled red. All of them seemed off 😅 btw are you really not a 5?
So interesting that 11 pulled red on you!! A 5? In shade? I would guess not - but I didn't get a bubble card with 5, so can't say for sure.
One more thing I noticed, synthetic brush worked much better than natural brush ....
I didn't try a natural brush, but generally I find water based foundations can do both very well, and silicone based foundations are better with synthetics!
@@TheHoodedLid Another very known U tuber mentioned , that this is a foundation with very high silicone ...
@@runaalamgir7112 Yes, I think Lisa mentioned that! Silicone in foundation is very common, and they perform better with synthetic brushes!
So bummed
But, I thoroughly enjoyed your review! Thank you! :)
I'm very surprised about that because fair skin usually does has a rosy option in most lines!
@@TheHoodedLid she does have the one (Shade 2) but there's no fair-light or light rosy so I was surprised too! But I enjoyed your honest thoughts 🥰 Sometimes it's just not meant to be 😂
@@DanielleNicoleMakeup So true!
I’m deciding between 5 and 7. Do you mind sharing some of your other shade matches?
What is your favorite foundation?❤
Oh my goodness it's over $60 that's a disappointment sounds wonderful though
soooo, you don't like this foundation?
I do like it - but with finger application over sunscreen, no brushes, no primer. And, the color is a problem for me. Most companies do yellow shades that are TOO yellow and that's the case here. The neutral - which is what I usually do although i do have a yellow undertone - pulled olive/gray on me.
From the samples I found a good colour match but it is hands down the worst foundation I have ever tried - makes my pores look like craters. Used on moisturiser and with primer.
OMG! So sorry to hear that.
Basically you’ve bought the wrong shade! That’s not anything to do with how a product works.
Regardless of the shade - this product is extremely fussy and from other reviews I've seen, I just don't think it's great for mature skin.
In simple words: that foundation is just not good at all :/ no good…. No good…
I am definitely interested in more bubble wrap swatches. You and I are almost always the same shade match so this shade would be really yellow on me as well. On a side note, picked up the Givenchy in N350 on your recommendation and I love it!
Oh! Do you mean 3N250 for the Givenchy?? I love it!!
