For drugstore powders, go with the Wet n Wild Photofocus translucent power and the photofocus banana. That one has a slight yellow tint but both are amazing.
Yes, I've heard of that one - but haven't tried it!

I do want to do a video on mistakes mature women make - and right up there at the top is getting in a rut. I feel it's so important to play around and go outside ones comfort zone from time to time - might be a bust or might find something you'd never thought could work on you is actually great!

Another great video. I relate to details as I am a Leo on the cusp of Virgo. One of my best clients told me that is the worst combination in a complimentary sort of way. Lol. I don’t know a Virgo who isn’t detail driven. I occasionally use powder and just a light dusting in my T zone so I have a wild powder recommendation. Wet and Wild actually. I can only imagine your expression as you read this. But seriously. They make a finely milled loose translucent powder. Risa Does Makeup surprisingly recommended and if you know her channel, she does more of a glam look and tends to prefer high end so I thought “really?” I am 63 so glam is not my goal, I prefer a more natural look but gave it a whirl and like it very much. Soft & blurring, not cakey or matifying at all. For beginners, you can’t beat the price and quality.
I've heard that's a very good powder. The truth is - I have too many powders! Maybe one day I'll take a look at it.

Would love you to review the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores powders because I have both the pan and the loose and I want to see how it stacks up to others out there....whether I have the best or should get a better one for undereyes which have fine lines and some baggy crepiness
Discovering translucent powders was so helpful! No idea what I did before them! Found your concealer recommendations useful. In the UK we can test make up in drugstores / chemists and supermarkets which is really helpful! Though we can’t send make up back which is a pain!

You’ve brought the beginner’s journey to life. I have some MAC brushes that are antiques with two digits on the handle made in France. Not a beginner but as usual I enjoyed your content.

Great video! I’m a makeup lover and have been since I was a teenager. I love buying high end products. However, neither of my sisters or many of my friends wear makeup often ( or at all), and I think it would reach a larger audience if you do a separate video using all drugstore products that are quality. Thank you!

Oh wow I’m definitely going to have come back and rewatch and make notes, I have been looking at beauty brands lately and became extremely overwhelmed with all the choices, as I want to start over with my make up, with not wearing any for a few years now I would say I’m a beginner for sure, please please do more videos like this and so glad I found you a couple of months ago, because I really wasn’t going to bother with make up ever again but you have reignited a spark with me, and the confidence boost we all need right now . Thank you for the suggestions! I am confused about how to pick the right colors and tones for my skin. I guess I am neutral, but not sure. Where can a gal get help picking out the right colors? I do not have a Sephora in my town. I have been disappointed many times with foundation shades.
It's very hard. Even when an SA helps you. some have the magic "touch" and some just don't. It might be a good idea to keep checking Lisa Eldridges site. She's selling samples in bubble packs - four in each depth of tone - with four different undertones (ie light medium, you'll get a bubble pack of four shades each light medium, but each with a different undertone). They are sold out in the lighter shades right now but will restock. It's a great place to start to see what undertone works best for you. You might find more than one will work - but only one will "feel" right - brightens up your face and makes you feel great!
Start taking photos and notes in natural indirect light to compare what you currently have. As you do that and maybe look up other examples, you'll start to refine your eye on what looks cohesive vs draws attention to a specific disconnected part of your overall appearance.

What setting power do you prefer for under the eye? I remember you said you don't like the by terry hydra powder for the undereye but use it for the rest of the face. Thanks!
Oh, no - that was the Kosas I don't like under the eye - but I like it on the face. I love both - but the Kosas imparts color and that can look odd if the color is not 100% right, especially since I don't powder my entire face.

Many stores including Ulta, don't even carry many shades. It makes it a difficult and frustrating experience. Now, Sephora had a glass board that she put shades on and then tested on my skin.
Yes, I've done the glass board, too. I find my Sephora is a bit more forgiving now and they'll even make foundation samples now.
I don’t know if you know this but Bobby Brown doesn’t have anything to do with Bobby Brown make up anymore she actually has her own line
Yes, I do know. It doesn't erase how important she was to the make-up world. To my knowledge she was the first make-up artist to start her own line and I find her story to be inspiring! Instead of getting togetherr a company to back up a new line - she did it on her own and shipped from her living room. Nothing but respect for her. Also, her point of view was not to make women look like someone else, but to look like their best selves. I really feel she always wanted to make women feel empowered and confident and that's something I can get behind! Cheers!
You just taught me how to use the fiber wand brow products. I was just applying across my brow and I was getting no volume. I'm trying your way of applying by brushing up then down on the brow hair. Awesome. Thank you for your lovely and informative video. Elegant as always.

I'm 50 and my lids are more hooded than yours but that's bc they always have been. I was born with hooded lids but they look sagging and worse now. And crepey under eyes. It's a nightmare.
