In this video I travel to the Dominican Republic, part of the Caribbean island of Hispaniola, it shares its Western border with Haiti, but the similarities stop there. The Dominican Republic is mostly known by visitors around the world for the resort town of Punta Cana, but I’m on a mission to find the authentic side of the Dominican Republic, so I travel to its capital Santo Domingo, which was the first ever city to be settled by the Spanish, I also visit the local Boca Chica beach, the mountainous region of Jarabacoa full of waterfalls and Villa Mella to eat the famous chicharrón! At the end of my trip I’m shocked that no one knows about the REAL Dominican Republic, the locals are fun and friendly, there’s always merengue and bachata music being played, the local food is delicious. I’m so happy I decided to visit lesser known places in the DR, it gave me a whole other insight into this country, even though it’s the most visited country in the Caribbean by tourists, they mostly all go to Punta Cana, which is such a shame because the country has so much more to offer culturally and geographically!

Santo Domingo and Santiago are currently modernizing with trains and monorail systems and there is a plan to have a national train system. There is a growing tech industry as well. With good policies, the Dominican Republic will have a brighter future!
It was great that you visited not only the colonial and tourist areas but also the interior of the country. You are one of the best in your line of work.

I love your content gorgeous. I have been traveling to the DR since 2015. I live in Santo Domingo Distrito Nacional part time. I also have a Townhouse in Punta Cana, Bavaro. I have been to many cities from Puerta Plata, Santiago, Barahona, La Romana, Las Terrenas, and many others. The DR have a wide range of diversity, and culture. One of the most beautiful countries I've ever seen. I look forward to living there full time in the next year of so. I love that you cover things outside of the resorts in Punta Cana, which is where most traveling go. I Love The DR!
