Hi Grego. I'm not sure if I've told you this before, but you're the only ambient channel that I'm subscribed to. I know you've only got 6 videos here, and you don't upload often, but that doesn't matter. I love your work. In my mind, your work is like smoking a fine cigar or sipping a great Scotch. It's meant to be savored slowly. So 6 videos and many months in between uploads is perfect. It speaks to my minimalistic nature at heart. Just for the record, even though my channel is an ASMR Cigar Lounge channel doesn't mean I'm not a fan of modular ambiance. In truth, I am. In fact, I'm a huge modular junkie. When you combine modular synthesis to ambient self generation, I'm in heaven. In fact, prior to the pandemic, I used to record my own music. But I don't record anymore. Now I just play my music live here at my little apartment, and for my own enjoyment. Your music is great. I love it. PS: I know this comment is longer than most. Well, being an ambient musician myself, I know it takes a lot of work to create such masterpieces, so I felt your music needed a more thorough comment than the typical, "love it." Mark
Mark, Thank you for your comments and kind words. It really means a lot to me knowing that there are some people who like listening to the music I create. There's a lot more coming in their usual slow but steady pace.
@gergofuxreiter Oh Grego, that greatly pleases me! I truly look forward to your new releases. You know, in today's fast paced ADHD world, where people are only concerned with consuming short clips of the videos (even my own analysis claims that people only watch 1 to 2 minutes of my videos before clicking away to something else), I am so glad for your LONG videos. Not only do I watch your entire videos, I most often watch them multiple times! There is just something so peaceful and soothing about your music, and I feel that's what we need today, in our crazy fast-paced society. We need to take our time, step back, step away from the rush of the rat race, and embrace the slow life. In fact, that's why I make the kind of videos I make. Thank you, Grego. Thank YOU for bringing soothing relaxation to my slow way of living. Your friend, Mark
Very nice work, congrats! Are you shorting this with a specific camera or adding the blur in post? I stare at my modular in the night more often than I’d like to admit. Gotta love those little lights! 😅
Thank you so much! I used my small DSLR (Canon 100D) to capture the footage. I have some vintage lenses, If I remember correctly, I used an SMC Takumar 35mm 3.5f lens here. I was playing around with the focus when I realized how beautiful it looks completely defocused. I only added some slight color correction in post, nothing else. I sometimes feel like a moth, just staring into the pretty lights of my system :D
