I seriously doubt Gonzalez would have fought Brody one on one and without a weapon. Gonzalez was likely afraid of Brody. Hell, Lex Lugar admitted being afraid of Brody. Look at him. HO LEE SHIT I'd HATE to think I had to fight him. So, likely, if it was about money, (and I've heard that Colon owed Brody about 50K) Colon and Gonzalez came up with a plan to take Brody out.

One thing he said was when they started messing with your money it was time to leave. Carlos Colon got mad at him over something once and told him if he pulled with him he would be leaving Puerto Rico in a box and wasn't joking. Landel said he tried to tell other people down there that it was dangerous and no one would take him seriously till Brody got killed.

Most likely it was a combination of multiple things. Other wrestlers talked about how Brody used to beat the piss out of Invader in the ring, he was upset that Invader wasn't selling more.
Invader's daughter dying (him being in a bad mental state), Carlos Colon and Victor Jovica might have been putting pressure on Invader to stand up for himself and urged him to do it because they had a benefit out of it. Money could've been one of the reasons too.
Invader definitely had some sort of personal grudge against Brody though, he was allegedly heard saying "if Brody was born again, i would do it again".

Fact is a death in the family (even to your own kid) is not going to turn you in to a homicidal maniac (unless the person you're killing is the one who killed your family member). Invader #1 is a murderer and we all know it. He didn't kill to avenge a death or in self-defense. He killed for Carlos Colon over money and his booking position. lol dude I think about this very same comment you made a lot.
The only think that I could safely conclude through the years is that these were old guys making it in old guy times. So remember, Hogan, Flair, all those guys lived on kayfabe. They kayfabed in the real world when they weren't working. They kayfabed at work. They kayfabed in interviews. They kayfabed in their home towns when they were driving their kids to school a few times out of the year. There was no google. no twitter. No Instagram. You couldn't fact check shit haha!!!
They are in this world where they have to make things up that aren't necessarily INTENDED to be lies, but more like tall tales. You hear tons of stories of these guys beating up like 10 cops. Dude, they'd get prison time. But to YOUR point about why Flair would lie about being in PR when Brodie got murdered- I have thought about that too. Flair (and Hogan) seem to be big on the "I was there when that happened" factor. I guess just to tie their memory to this big event that had nothing to do with them. It was always about selling themselves haha. I dunno man. Im not an expert, but you're 100% right. These cats just lie without any limits.

Invaded would risk it all to take out brody as he was the booker and always going over in the matches and media. also when little carolito was a kid and invadter was trying to feed the family back on the island in a try out match for new york brody embaressed invader in a dark match but giving him nothing and kick him in the face hard.

Brody was waiting for a ride from invader when Tony was leaving for the show. He got a ride with Tony instead because he was waiting for a while and risked being late. Invader was already at the show when Tony and Brody got there. Brody's wife cremated him afterwards. Carlos Colon had no reason to kill Brody. None! Did he owe Brody money? Yes, but not enough money to kill him over it. Carlos Colon and Victor Jovica pay for Brody's funeral expenses and also paid for Invaders legal defense. They spend way more money than they owe Brody in all of that. I know exactly how much mkney they owe Brody. They owed Brody close to 20 thousand dollars. Carlos Colon was not going to kill Brody over 20k. Invader acted alone.

This won’t be a popular take but Brody was a bully who liked to push around bookers and promoters and he just messed with the wrong guy. PR was a dangerous territory for a reason. I’m not the only one who feels that way.
Harley Race: “I told Frank that if he goes over to that island with that kind of attitude he won’t come back alive and that’s pretty much what happened.”

He wasn't a bully. He was a guy who would stand up to promoters who cheated him over money. But he foolishly went to war with gangsters in PR without understanding what doing that meant and what he would have to do.
If most guys got cheated by a promoter, they would just cease to do business with them and not go back to PR. Brody tried to do it a different way and paid the price. He wasn't a bully. He was just dumb.

@@Jim-Tuner I think he was a bully. I seen an interview where Watts said he didn't use Brody cause Brody wouldn't keep his word. Brody would agree to come in for a Price, then right before the show when you couldn't cancel or replace him he would demand extra. I guess he also would sometimes be excessively rough and hurt people. Seems like Dr. D was one of the few people who liked working with Brody.

@@tritchie6272 When Brody was starting wrestling, he had a match with Danny Hodge. Brody refused to sell for him because Hodge was 10" shorter and 100+ lb lighter than him. Of course, Hodge was a 3x NCAA D1 wrestling champ and olympic silver medalist, as well as a national golden gloves boxing champion. Hodge made him sell by putting him in painful positions.
