    I’m curious if it actually grown a new plant? U can get a lot of things to grow roots but it doesn’t mean it’s gonna grow into a whole new plant… can we see more updates of them growing into new plants? Like the Hoya heart leaf that people sell as just a heart in a pot. More often then not it will not grow a plant it’s just a rooted leaf.

      You can make a new plant only if in your cutting there are some cells of the stem that can grow in a new offshoot

      It won’t work, you’ll just have a rooted piece of leaf that will eventually die

      @IMNENIGMA1 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      You're right, because without a node, you won't get a plant

      My experience is as long as you take good care of it it can grow a new plant from the roots. Like with snake plants for example you can grow roots out of a single blade and the roots after a while will form a new shoot that’ll curve toward the surface and then it eventually sucks the nutrients from the cutting and kill it off. I’ve even seen someone grow a new plant from a single Hoya heart leaf just because they watered it frequently. That rate of watering helped the new plant to form but eventually killed the leaf cutting because it usually doesn’t like that much water as a mature plant

      @@nickwilcox5414 yeah a snake plant is not the same as a philodendron, they’re are many plants you can propagate by leaf such as begonia, pepperomia, sansiveria, and Hoya. Philodendron will need to have a node to produce new growth

      This won't grow a plant, just a rooted leaf. Without a node, no plant. He's misleading at the least for clickbait

      You can't propagate this way, he only got roots. A new plant won't form without a node

      The only sure way to propagate this plant is by digging up to the roots and cutting the actual plant, just make sure you get some roots too on the part you cut off so it would survive when you replant it..then the root part left will grow another plant..repeat the process to keep propagating.

      There’s no nodes u can keep it alive but there’s no nodes to produce more growth.

    I've been trying to propagate philodendron my one successful propagation was with the top of a full grown philodendron in a tall clear stainless vase with large river rocks dried 6"sticks to create air pockets sand a few chunks of bbq coals broken up and dead matter that fail from old trees from the park and a little soil, after about six weeks they foot and I transplant into a larger put with drainage if I leave them in that stainless vase they die after rooting,,, remember people they didn't have all those expensive unnecessary products when growing in their natural habitat

    I am astonished at the lack of basic botanical knowledge of some of the commentators here. Of course, the leaflets go on to develop a thalus, in fact, if there are roots, it is already there (although still microscopic.). It will go on to develop into a meristem and a growing plant. Without the thalus, the roots would not have been able to grow downward.

    I know this won't work, but if you plant and take care of these rooted leaves, I wonder if they could grow a new plant not from the actual leaf but from its root..like how aglaonemas grow offsprings.

    These will never turn into new plants, just a rooted piece of leaf that will never grow.

    This is so fake. Dude stuck the leaves into a piece of potato. But then later when he dug it out to show the roots, there’s no potato covering the leaves. If there is, when he pull out it should show the potato turning black or rotting while leaves still in it. But nope it’s only leaf in dirt, no potato.
    Comon guys don’t believe everything you see online.
