Thanks so much Rich for the great information and your time in putting this together. As always, everything you do is greatly appreciated. Since I retired 3 years ago, learning all about lasers and how to work with them with your videos as a wonderful source of inspiration and knowledge has been great! Thanks again for all you do.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuyRich, I am ready to purchase the MK2 30w but I am dithering due to the Feb launch. Is it worth me waiting? There is nothing worse than buying something only for it to be superseded by a new model. Our budget will remain around $1500 - ish it worth waiting? John
Probably not if your budget is $1500 John. The new model is a completely new design, with a 40W diode and a galvo. It will be quite a bit more than the current XW. The launch date is only for pre-orders, and the delivery date won't be until sometime in June. If you do order the XW now, please use my affiliate link: hguy.us/roly It lets Leo know I helped you.
Thank you Mr. Rich foooor taking soooo much time and showing us final results. They came out nice, but how much work and time you needed to spend in order to achieve those results nobody knows. In my opinion IR is in early stage (2W) to be profitable for the time you spend creating anything. Cheers.
Thank you Rich, I'm glad you took the time to share, I appreciate it, and since I'm so slow at getting projects done, I haven't unboxed mine yet, but I'm delighted to see the results you came up with! I LOVE the copper coin!
Thanks Rich! I have 30/10XW. The jury’s still out on the IR, for me. Looks great on the plastics but not sure I’ll get enough use to justify the cost. Great info’ though.
Will it work with the MK1? Love your channel by the way. Been watching for a few years and it's still my go to channel when I want to learn something new.
Awesome! 👍 Thanks for watching! No, it is not compatible with the original LaserMATIC 10. The wiring and voltage are different. There is some talk in R&D about making a new control board and wiring harness for the LM 10, but at this point, it's just in the conversation phase.
I'm amazed on the difference in settings how the colours very Can I ask what grade spec of stainless steel you use as there are many Thx And to say when I can afford a 2w or module I will get one as you have got me hooked lol
Hi Rich. I’m a 1 1/2 month old laserist now. I have watched countless hours if your videos and have gotten so much better from day 1. I have a question about line after fill. I see on older versions it’s an option but on my 1.74 version I can’t seem to find this. Can you help me please. Thanks and also thanks for your file store. I’ve ordered several files and very pleased.

Thanks Rich, yes it was very helpful and thanks for the sacrifice. We trust you as a solid source of information and especially about Roly.
I'm glad you found it helpful William!
Thanks again Rich for an interesting and entertaining video. I can’t wait to see your China visit to the factory. Hope you’re feeling good!
We've changed the schedule, and the factory is coming here to NOLA for the launch livestream.

It can be Bob, if you're doing small things like jewelry or plastics.

Agreed, I think that came out the best Vee!
You know every time I see you post something now I panic and start clicking on your channel and Roly because the number “12” pops into my head. 😅
Haha I'm glad to get you thinking Cindy!
Thanks, Rich. This was very helpful.
Glad it was helpful Tim!
Great video Rich. I was leaning towards the IR and your video will help me a lot in my final decision. Thanks
I'm glad you're finding the information useful Larry!
Thank you.. Making me drool even more for an IR or Fiber laser.

Thanks so much Jim! I won't have much use for it either, except for plastics. There it shines.

Just what I was looking for. Did you put these settings in the download listing for engraving? Thanks Tim
No Charles, But when I get done with the library, I'll be posting it in my store.
Thanks Rich! Is
Does anybody know the reason why 2w seems to be the limit with the IR lasers?
The diodes are very expensive. 2 & 3W is all that's available from manufacturers right now.
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy thanks!
where do you get the coins that you used?
I bought them at the Lightburn convention last year. But Amazon does sell them.

Lightburn has made it even better with the new releases: th-cam.com/video/9Xcc4BWqKSY/w-d-xo.html
Co2 needs to become affordable..... Its basically a 3dprinter with a tube.... The prices dont needs to be 3000-5000 $ for a machine
That depends on the parts they use. $3-5K is actually a budget Co2.
