I really appreciate this review, and you taking on the challenge to do some retro gaming with it. I just ran Super Mario Bros with it and that was hard enough, I cannot imagine Street Fighter. Good job!
I would personally have tested a different set of games. As everyone mentioned, Mario Paint would be an obvious test. Also, any light gun games I think would be a great test as well (duck hunt, operation wolf, t2 arcade, house of the dead, etc). Outside that, I can see this being a great novelty gift to turn heads at work. Glad to know it does have some form of scroll wheel as well.
I like this mouse, and commendable efforts gaming retro games on that thing like it's a controller, ETA PRIME. That must have felt awesome winning one round of street fighter 2 with a mouse
No start and select? I knew something was off there! I hope they make another version with the 2 extra buttons. They could've easily added them on the other side of the mouse or next to the d-pad.
Non-centred optical sensor. Pivot from your wrist and you suddenly have more X sensitivity than Y. This is a common problem with cheap and/or wireless mice, they stick the sensor too far forward or back and make it impossible to use the mouse without moving your whole arm like grandma.
I think it's let's about running out of ideas, and more about achieving god tier levels of confidence that people will buy anything they make as long as its high quality.
@@adriandoesstuffandthings the problem I have is that I actually love the colors and shape of the double d-pad controller, but I'm not buying something like that, was it too hard to put regular sticks on that thing? it's not a good controller, specially since I already have an SN30 Pro
@Alanna Lopez i honestly think they could have made it the way they did so that they wouldn't get controller drift (poking fun at Nintendo). Edit: spell correction
@@LovelyAlanna Putting sticks on it would defeat the entire purpose of the controller being a super slim pocketable controller with full functionality, having sticks that pop out and could get damaged easily would make it no longer pocketable.
When attempting Street Fighter moves, I am reminded of something. Maybe it's a good time to talk about why Street Fighter II configs for SNES come default with weak attacks in the most accessible buttons. Normal Tatsumaki should be strong kick, and it makes it hard to strong Hadoken with the L button, so I always had to go into the configs and switch unless using my fight stick.
My first thought as well. Left-handed one should be mandatory and the PCB could have been adapted with a separate board for the D-Pad connected via a slot on both sides so costs could be reduced. Sad they didn't think it through.
@@rodrigomuller the PCB isn't the big cost though, the plastic injection molding is the biggest cost when it comes to making a left handed version. I hear all of you left handed people out there, and I would love to see one made as well, but it's still only 10% of the market so it makes it a difficult business decision for anyone making left handed products.
I wonder how something like that would handle centipede/milipede? seems pretty cool though if I'm ever in the market for a new mouse I might consider it.
I ordered mine and should be getting it a couple of days but when I ordered there was no mouse pad available on the website for a buck or I would have grabbed it I hope it shows up soon. Personally I wish they had made it Bluetooth
I can say I would never use this. I'm too stuck with my logitech mouse. That said, this is a holiday MUST HAVE. It's just so frikken cool. That mouse drop (mic drop) at the end of round 1. :)
The only way I was able to purchase the mouse pad was with the mouse, I’ve been searching for the pad separately but have not come up with anything yet.
Do yu have any of the new Sega 2.4G Wireless Controllers from Retro-Bit? If so, could you please tell me how to update the firmware on both the controllers and the receivers that come with it?
I just got mine, I wish I could figure out how to remap the d pad to other keys, but this is really more of a novelty, it's not a great mouse and with the touch scroll wheel you can't click it in or side to side which are pretty nice features of most modern gaming mice. but for the price it'll look nice on my desk
Excellent. Thats one for my Christmas stocking. Shame you didn't try Outrun in mame, using the mouse for analogue control, d-pad for gears and mouse buttons for Accel. and Brake. Thanks for the content (SFII with a mouse. Genius! lol)
Not a comfortable mouse for regular use.. the click buttons are really a pain on your fingers, aesthetically as novelty it looks cool on your desk though.
I don't trust ANY 2.4ghz non-bluetooth devices anymore. Check out the MouseJack vulnerabilities to see why. If your gonna use wireless input devices, they should always at least be Bluetooth.
This was the perfect opportunity to try Mario paint
my thought exactly
Came to say the same thing, watched the video in hopes he would. :(

Mario Paint?
Of course
@@bland9876 Do you need it to b USB?
@@bland9876 PS/2 conector? That's for old computers. In any case, I was thinking of bluetooth mouses.
@@bland9876 No, there actually seems to be Bluetooth mouses that work on exchangeable batteries only and come with no dongles.
@@bland9876 Just looked on the internet. They are for sale. I assume they are "usb-less" either way. I could be wrong tho. Never seen one personally.
Honestly made me chuckle when I saw it
This is the first novelty retro thing I’ve ever seen that I genuinely think is worth the money.
this might be the most hokey nostalgia trip i've ever seen and im loving every bit of it.
Love the pfp p1 artwork is great
All the 8 bits?
This would go great with the NesPi case.

you always have the coolest gadgets that you review, love your channel.
That line clear fist pump made my day.
You have got to be kidding! I thought today was April 1st when I first saw this. This makes my fingers and hand cramp just to look at it.
LOL, ok this 8-bit style mouse ... awesome !+
EDIT - 3:50 SF2 Special Fight... Whahaha.. EPIC !
No start and select? I knew something was off there! I hope they make another version with the 2 extra buttons. They could've easily added them on the other side of the mouse or next to the d-pad.
I wouldn't mind seeing someone speedrunning super Mario Bros with this mouse
I hope 8Bitdo makes a Dance Mat , as i want to see you use that for Controller for Retro Gaming, i did nearly 20 years ago, Tony Hawk on PSX was Funny
that mouse pad is looking really great. but i have to be honest, personally, the mouse look horrendous.
After street fighter slapped that thing down like he dropped the mic
Beautiful!!!!!!!
ETA Prime: this thing exists
Me: Sold!
😂
I need someone rs
definitely picking this up
I would love to see you play some FPS games on PC with this and see how well it does.
I want to take this into apex, the d pad look meta
The side dpad might be cool for Flick Stick in an FPS to turn around quickly.
I would love to see a left handed version have the d-pad on the other side

Perfect for a NES emulation PC build
does the form factor hurt your hands? that's my biggest worry
between the double d-pad controller and now this I can confirm they ran out of ideas

it's twenty-five fucking dollars lmao
I emailed them because I want one, but I for a response and they said I gota wait till January. That's fine, I'll do that.

Some cool usage for this mouse would be Amiga games that require a mouse, but also Arcade light-gun games like The Terminator.
Does it has the rubber ball?
The Monk inside me wants you to remove the sticker from the notebook 😜
It might be a nice retro controller for those who only have use of one arm as well.
I'd enjoy!
I've been complaining about mice not having a d-pad for a while but this doesn't look remotely comfortable to use.
Looks like someone just had idea of slapping nes style parts for mouse and cashing it in. Miserable failure.

Well I really wanted that mousepad but unfortunately it's not available on the link in the description. I'm going to try ebay
This looks like it would go great with a late 90s PC rig, assuming the drivers cooperate with Windows 98.
When you said you were going to test it with retro games, I thought that Quake, Unreal, and Half-life were gonna be used
If I ever lose an arm, this will be very handy.
manufacturer stickers on your laptop? youre killen me bra
Is the mousepad only available on their site or can i buy it separately?

I only want to if Mario paint will work but with Snes Classic
I have officially dubbed this the goofy ahh retro mouse
I'm holding it for the SNES mouse.
This is so awesome, but for an everyday mouse I definitely need a rechargeable battery. Preferably with a usb c port
wierd and interesting video at the same time, thx for sharing ::D

are the button's microswitched? ("Clicky") ?
I want that mouse only to annoy people :D
Damn. I was hoping this was an SNES/Sega mouse replacement.
any tips to have a middle click with this thing?
Is there a way to middle click?
Touch the sensor without swipe it.
Arkanoid Mame, maybe a rail shooter.. i would have thought that's what this would be good for.
very cool
I Am buying this for my Samsung tablet. Usb-c to Usb-a female
Scrollwheel* 1:554
While I'm not a fan of the mouse I can see the appeal.
Never thought I would see someone using their index finger for the scrolling wheel
Eric Lecarde is he supposed to use his middle finger like some kind of animal??

This mouse is hilarious
Beat Dark Soul with this would be very nice.
What laptop is that
Can I use rechargable batteries for this mouse?
Yes a rechargeable AA will work perfectly
Weird product. I'm not sure who this is made for. I guess a case modder with an NES theme
Wish it came with a middle mouse buton, it would replace my default mouse.
Middle mouse is a touch button
I wanna know if you can play mario paint on retropie with this mouse
You can do that with any mouse, as long as the emulator has an SNES mouse option. Any standard mouse would work. This would work for that for sure.
Could be interesting for Doom
Can you change the dpi
No Mario Paint?!
Come on Prime :P
Anyone knows how to remap the dpad on the side of the mouse?
Buy some AA lithium ion battery, and there you have it, rechargeable NES mouse
Does it work on chrome?!?
Currently unavailable. I'm very sad... I want one.
WTF! This is so dumb but Nostalgia man. This is Rad
try crash team racing with the mouse!
Lol this thing is so cute. Would it be possible to play overwatch with this? xD

as a regular mouse probably...
it's more an accessory, not a controller.
You got a mouse and didnt test Mario Paint??
The D-pad on the side is awful. IMO
Lol why you slam the mouse after you finish the street fighter game 😅
Seems like a cute lil novelty item with limited appeal. 1-2 days of fun and in the drawer it goes.
It doesn’t look practical for gaming. But how is it for normal use?
it looks like your thumb would hurt if you use the d pad too much.
It’s only right handed
