I am 35 years old and I had this surgery 3 weeks ago. Even though I have a little more of swelling, my eyes look great. Also, I have a bit of tense in the scar area (I had a canthopexy as well in order to tighten the muscles beneath the eye ). But I have to say that I am very happy with the results, because for the first time in my life I do not look tired, I do not have eye bags and I do not have extra skin, and my eyes do not go puffy in the morning no matter what I eat or drink in the evening. My surgeon did not take out fat, but only redistributed it on order to fill the tear through (I had that issue too, because I have super skinny face along with eye bags - very unhappy combination of face features :) One thing that could be a little strange only for the people who do not have a fat in the cheekbones area, like me - after this surgery you might have a little hollowed eyes (because you have no fat on the cheekbones, without your eye bags as well, the hollowness can become little more obvious). Because the amount of my redistributed fat was not enough to solve a tear through, I can solve that with the fat grafting or hyaluronic acid, but even without that my eyes look 10 times better. I look like completely different person (no one will notice that you have operated something, but you will look completely refreshed and restful) . I believe I need to wait for a 3 months at least for the final results and I hope my eyes will look even better after the healing process is complete :) PS.Sorry for my bad English :D
Can you tell me why my eyes are still red it’s been 8 days now. My eyes look red with a discharge inside. My doc said it was normal. Someone please help.
@@ladybird8113 hey I think your eyes may be red because of “dry eyes”. Have they improved at all? Your under eye may be red because it is still healing and there may be swelling too
This is not true, he is only trying to sell his surgery, it takes at least 6 yes 6 weeks to be able to go out in public. I had it and it worked out great with no pain , but people plan to take 4 to 6 weeks off, unless you work from home. Do not believe this guy.
I had upper and lower blepharoplasty just over 3 weeks ago. I'm recovering well apart from some swelling and bruising. There was a small amount of bleeding from one of my incisions on day 5, and I was scared that my stitches had broken, but everything was healing fine.
I am a 70 year old male. I had upper and lower blepharoplasty 4 weeks ago. I am experiencing extreme eye watering. I have been told it will take time. Would love a second opinion to see if this is normal.
Hello, thanks for the information. Might there be a chance that one eye become different and Have hypertropia after the lower lid Blepharoplastymm and look bigger than the other?? ❓❓ please and thank you..😔
Andrea Knight checkout my after complications. I had upper and lower and still need to ice my eyes in the middle of the night and in the morning so that they will feel normal. I’m praying that it goes away but I am four months post. It could take a year post to become normal.
I'm 3 months post lower lid blepharoplasty, and I still have chemosis of one eye, and sagging/swelling/bruising of the same eyelid. I'm scheduled to see a ophthalmologist in 3 weeks. In the meantime, the other eye looks great, and the fat bags beneath both eyes are definitely not there anymore. I can't pin my plastic surgeon on when he thinks this will be resolved, but when I asked if it would be another four months, he said that it should be before then anyway.
I'm 3 weeks post-surgery and have chemosis, too. Very disappointing, as it gives my lower lids a saggy, droopy appearance. It's comforting to know that it can resolve itself. It's just so disappointing, as I hoped to recover quickly, and I still don't like showing my face without big glasses because of the droop and the chemosis, which makes me look like I'm about to cry. Is there anything you're doing to help the chemosis go away? My doctor told me to massage that area.
@@francophiledawg9059 I'm now 5 months post surgery. I've had two rounds of Tobradex (4 times a day for 2 weeks), and the first time showed big results in reduction of the swelling and redness. The second time I still had some swelling and redness, but not as much, and so there was a small change but not huge. I still have redness on the border of my lower eye lid and some swelling of the lower eye lid, but it's an improvement. The sagging hasn't improved much. The ophthalmologist I consulted turned out to be an occuloplastic surgeon. Although he, like my original plastic surgeon, hopes that everything will go away with time and conservative measures, he did reassure me that there are further surgical measures they can take--namely sewing my eyelids shut to get rid of the chemosis, and performing canthopexy (again) to the outer corner of the eyelids to get rid of the drooping. As far as what I'm doing: I'm cleaning my eye with baby shampoo/water in a spray bottle, that I spray onto a paper towel, twice a day. I'm doing a warm compress (basically soaking that same paper towel in warm water, then holding it to my closed eye. I'm still lifting my lower eye lid with my finger, but only 3 times a day for ~20 seconds. No matter how you wash your hands, this will put you at risk for an infection. I had styes erupt all over my eye, and had to take an oral antibiotic to get rid of them. My next scheduled appointment is in several weeks, when I'll be approaching 7 months post surgery. I hope you resolve more quickly than I have so far.
Dr.Julian de Silvia I did have tha bleoplastic and lower tha corner ,but and lower I did get bacteria that elastic cream, but that fat is back, finally the Doctor says He touch-up, Dr says is because I did get the bacteria, the upper bleoplastic not problem, but I am scared. Thank you.Elizabeth.
I had lower lid blepharoplasty 3 days ago on 2-5-15......my eye shape looks totally different which now concerns me....my right eye seems tighter than my left and my left eye seems to have "chemosis"..I had to look that up because it looks like his eyeball is a 1/2 peeled onion and is always tearing......should I go back to ice compresses? our surgeon told us ice compress for 48 hours and then warm compresses
I had mine a week ago and have the same concern. My right eye looked more cramped than the left and a bit of squint! It freaked me out.. I asked my surgeon and he assured that it'll be OK as swelling subsides. But well, I'm still freaked out :|
TNT Myers I had my upper and lower eyelid surgery because I am in my late 50s four months ago. My complications afterwords were a Millia on the left eye, Chemosis in the right eye for 21/2 months, Eye dryness, and my eyeballs feel large under the upper lids. I literally added my eyes to my prayers every night and still do. I did extensive research to learn how to make the inner eyes healthy. I drink lemon aloe raw honey mixture every morning that I make fresh. I take Lutein and bilberry every day. I put fresh aloe from the plant on my face and upper eyelids in the morning and at night to help heal them naturally. I document my journey and knowledge learned on TH-cam For any one else who experiences complications afterwords. There is no way to predict how surgery will turn out.
Is it normal to have to ice your eyes with light salt in icy water four months after a Blepharoplasty? I got Chemosis in the right eye From the lower and the left eyeball feels weird under the lid and it’s almost 4 months. Will the dryness and large eyeball under the lids feeling go away? I need to know to inform my viewers on TH-cam as to why this is happening.
I have had upper and lower blep surgery and I’m only 32, due to genetic bags and hooded eyes. It’s been a year and my advice sincerely from the bottom of my heart is don’t bother. Why? Well first off my upper eyelids are uneven, secondly I have a permanent scar, 3 both my lower eyes bags differ one has a tiny bag other is okay. I wish I had just left them alone. Spend your time and focus on life and staying happy accept we are just like this otherwise you’ll spend yr life having revision surgery other procedures and still not be happy it can drive u insane. Okay hopefully I have convinced someone it’s not worth it and saved someone from a life of potential paranoia and regret. I look like a troll jigsaw. Amen and good bless u all a great life ahead of happiness and self love. Learn from my mistake.
@Aztec Warriorz, you may feel like you look awful but your heart is beautiful for taking the time to write and express your concerns for others considering this surgery. Thank you.
The exact thing happened to me, but I am twice as old as you. I'm so sorry this happened to you. I now have to wear eye makeup at home to not look ridiculous. Each of my eyes are totally different from the other. I am having four new problems that I didn't have before. I regret my decision too, but I know I am at an age where it can't be perfect, but it certainly didn't turn out like I thought. How long for the feeling of upper eyes to stop feeling like I have glue or maybe soc made the top too tight .....for lack of description to go away ?
Both of my eyes were black and blue for up to 10 days. I could not go out. Then it was still slightly bruised and swollen.
