Absolutely, you should consider it! This procedure has genuinely boosted my confidence, transforming moments like glancing in the mirror each morning or before heading out to meet friends. I had some throbbing in both eyes about 4 hours after I had the Valium. I took extra strength Tylenol and it helped. The ice packs helped the most. You look fantastic btw!
❤Patient look absolutely gorgeous. She mentions she feels the surgery took off about 10 years, I have to say that from the before clip to her 1 month, easily 20 years younger. Very beautiful. Im consulting soon for a laster assisted upper blethroplasty, I hope to see results in terms of the scalpel vs the route of laser
Upper blepharoplasty can wonderfully contribute to a more youthful and refreshed appearance, often making patients look years younger. Personally, I consider this procedure among the best for achieving a natural and rejuvenated look. Regarding the choice between laser and scalpel, we've employed both methods, and I don't believe one is inherently superior. While the heat from the laser may slightly affect the skin's edges, it doesn't seem to impact the final outcome significantly. When using lasers around the eyelid region, it's common to use a corneal shield, similar to a contact lens, to protect the eye. However, the process of placing and removing this shield can potentially cause a corneal abrasion. Although it's not a major concern, it's an additional consideration that we don't have to manage when a scalpel is used for the incision. Nevertheless, in the hands of a skilled facial plastic surgeon, blepharoplasty can deliver fantastic results. Best of luck with your procedure-I'm confident you'll be thrilled with the outcome. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Thank you! Mrs. D here facelift with neck end of June, 4 th day seems to hit everyone the same but pushing through it with sense of humor seems to get you past it! 🎉
You're absolutely right-many patients do experience a "bad" day around day 3-4 post-op, but pushing through it with a positive attitude makes a big difference. Overall, the recovery process tends to go well, especially when patients are well-prepared and follow post-op care instructions closely. Keeping a light-hearted perspective, as you mentioned, can really help.
i'm getting mine done within the next two months and I hope I look as great as you. My eyes are the same as yours and if they cut like they did yours then I'll be super happy.
Thank you! I'm confident that you'll achieve fantastic results as well! Upper blepharoplasty has truly transformed my appearance, making a significant difference. The recovery process from the upper eyelid surgery was remarkably straightforward for me, and I noticed improvements with each passing day. I need to do an upper and lower bleph. I had a friend who had it done. I'm curious. You're not talking about things like massage to minimize scar tissue. Can you do a little of that in a follow up video?
Thank you for your comment. Massage can be used, although it's not always necessary. I will be posting my own journey (now 3 weeks out) from my upper blepharoplasty soon. I experienced a couple of delays in recovery (perhaps I didn't follow all of the directions perfectly!), and I used a little bit of massage to help. Generally speaking, the incisions from upper eyelid procedures heal very well without any issue, so massage is not typically required as a routine therapy. Thank you for your suggestion, and we will be sharing some videos that show more details about the nuances of this procedure.
Hi Gretchen or doctor! Thanks so much for posting this video. You mentioned that you were going to wait 10 days to get the stitches removed, although most patients go at the one week mark. I am getting an upper bleph done in September, and my doctor removes all sutures on day 10. I was thinking this seemed very long compared to other doctor's recommendations, but perhaps 10 days post-op is normal? Any information would be much appreciated! Thanks!
Hi there, this is Dr. Mendelsohn replying. Thank you for your comment and question! Waiting 10 days to get the stitches removed is completely acceptable. You may find that different surgeons recommend a variation in the timeframe, typically ranging from 5 to 10 days. This variation is simply because there is no risk in leaving the sutures in a bit longer. The primary concern with removing them too soon is that the incision could dehisce (separate), which might necessitate placing additional sutures. While this isn’t the end of the world, waiting 10 days helps ensure a better healing process. Your doctor’s recommendation to remove sutures on day 10 is perfectly normal. Best of luck with your upcoming procedure, and feel free to reach out with any other questions!
It’s my pleasure. Thank you for interest and sharing. Should you have any additional questions along the way we are all happy to provide our input. Thank you.
I agree, this is simply one of the best procedures anyone can undergo to look more refreshed and feel better about themselves. It's great to hear that it was such a positive decision for you. Thank you again for your comment!
Hi. I am doing very well, thank you. I couldn’t be happier with the eyelid surgery, the process, and the overall experience. My results were noticeable immediately and I haven’t had any problems at all. Like mentioned in an earlier post, I wish I had this performed 10 years ago! Thank you for your interest.
I was told no eye makeup for 3 weeks! You look great! I’m having mine in 6 days by an ocular plastic surgeon. Very excited. Did you have any fat removed?
Hi. Thank you! You will love the procedure. It's one of the best things I've ever done! And yes, there is a video of the LIVE surgery showing the fat removal as well. Good Luck!
Wow your healing so well. I'm almost day 10 and my eyes are crusty oozy and swollen. I keep contacting my doctor and he says it's fine your healing. I'm so miserable
I'm sorry that your early recovery is not going as smoothly as you hoped. I might consider using some ointment such as Lacrilube and/or eye drops for the irritation. Stay on your steroids and also ice when you can. Things will turn around quickly for you! Hang in there and focus on the results!
The local anesthesia lasts about 90 minutes. There is not any pain although occasionally a little burning sensation is noticed as it wears off. Cold compresses help during the early recovery. No pain medication is required!
The numbness generally Begins to improve within about 6 weeks. It is typical for the eyelids to feel numb. As the months progress - these will return to having a normal sensation. However - you are reaching a timeframe where you will start to feel changes. Hang in there !! It just keeps getting better!
I’m having this done in 2 months. I’m worried about having pain. Since they are also fixing the eye lid muscle which is the main cause of my droopiness. Did anyone have pain after having this done. Like uncontrollable pain?
I noticed no one has replied to your query yet. Experiencing pain after this procedure is actually quite unusual. You might feel a slight dull sensation as the local anesthesia wears off, but beyond that, it's unlikely you’ll even need something as mild as Tylenol. The procedure is done using only local anesthesia, and it’s an incredibly smooth process. Good luck, and try not to worry-you’ll likely be pleasantly surprised with how it goes!
Initially it does feel numb when applying makeup, mostly towards the center of the eyelid. But that resolves and improves every day, every week throughout the recovery process.
Thank you for your question about the cost of upper eyelid surgery. The cost of blepharoplasty is between $4,500 and $5,500. There are no additional costs for visits, phone calls, Zoom calls, or other communications. This procedure is simply one of the best investments anyone can make! Thank you for your interest, and please let us know if you have any other questions.
The cost for an upper blepharoplasty can range from $4,500 to $15,000. Dr. Mendelsohn's fees are around $5,000 to $6,500. I strive to provide excellent results and personalized care within this range. Thank you for your interest!
It doesn’t always work out so seamlessly. You can get really bad black eyes from bleeding that last for about 3 weeks, your eyelids can stay discoloured permanently They can pull your eyebrows down when removing skin and they can also change the shape of your eyes. The scar is always visible and as you age it droops differently to areas that have not been cut and sewn. So one needs to give a lot of thought into can you live with possible side effects.
Thank you for your comment. This is Dr. Mendelsohn replying. You are correct that treatments should not be taken lightly, as they do require time to heal. It's important to consider potential side effects, such as the development of bumps or the dehiscence (splitting open) of incisions, which actually happened in my own surgery. (See this video th-cam.com/video/xc5IS_SoDlA/w-d-xo.html) That being said, many concerns you mentioned, like bleeding and bruising, can often be minimized with the proper local anesthesia technique. The issue of lowering the brow during surgery is completely avoidable and should never occur. While upper eyelid surgery may not be suitable for everyone, it is one of the most effective treatments for achieving a natural and more refreshed look. It often results in a more youthful appearance as well. Please watch my video, as you brought up some valid points that I had to deal with during my own experience. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
I had this done . my doctor didnt do a good job now my eyelid is more uneven than before the procedure. I am regretting I got this done or maybe its just the wrong doctor.
Hi! Yes, my eyes did close completely. They did mention that sometimes, during the first couple of hours, the eyelids may not fully close due to the local anesthesia and swelling. However, in my case, they closed just fine, and I didn’t have any issues at all.
Hi there, this is Dr. Mendelsohn replying. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and advice! It's incredibly helpful and appreciated when patients share what worked for them during their recovery. Your tip about using a frozen eye mask is valuable, and I'm sure others will benefit from it. Thank you again for your contribution!
Weird how you’re waiting 10 days to take out your stitches. My surgeon taken mine out after five days and I think when you take the stitches out a bit early the area heals nicely together because it’s still fresh
There is a wide range for timing when it comes to suture removal. I think early removal is great, but we sometimes worry that the incisions could dehisce, or separate, which would delay the overall healing time if this were to occur. It's often more about the patient's own schedule, such as work, travel, etc. When patients are more active (which most of our patients are), we tend to leave the sutures in for 6-7 days. Ten days is longer than usual, and perhaps it's because certain patients, such as health care providers are a little over-cautious. They certainly could have been removed earlier. Thank you again for your input!
Thank you for your facial analysis. You are correct that is she were interested in reduction rhinoplasty we would reduce the dorsal bump, slightly deproject her tip, and reduce the tip bulbosity. That being said - she had no interest in modifying her nose … she was however very happy with her upper eyelid surgery. Thank you for your analysis and comments. We do have our patient charlotte who will be posting her rhinoplasty journey over the next couple of days. Thank you.
For me it’s too costly, although my eye doc keeps telling me need it. I can’t see spending money on it because I am a housewife who doesn’t work, so it doesn’t matter what Ai look like in public.
Should you be experiencing any vision-related issues, it's possible that your insurance could cover the procedure. While the focus may shift somewhat from cosmetic enhancement to functional improvement, the benefits to your overall well-being and visual health can still be significant.
Upper blepharoplasty, commonly referred to as upper eyelid surgery, stands as a paramount option in the realm of cosmetic procedures, particularly for rejuvenating one's youthful aesthetic. Administered under local anesthesia in a concise timeframe of fewer than 30 minutes, the outcomes achieved are nothing short of remarkable and exhibit considerable longevity. It's important to recognize that the benefits of upper eyelid surgery extend beyond age-related concerns. This procedure is not exclusively reserved for individuals of a certain age; rather, it holds relevance for a diverse range of individuals who may be genetically predisposed to eyelid hooding, characterized by excessive skin accumulation. Your insights on this matter are greatly appreciated.
I don't think you needed it. I can't see much difference. I had it done today. My right eye was almost closed the lids were so hooded. Yours looked fine before in my opinion.
I didn't experience any obstruction of vision, possibly unlike your situation. However, as you can observe in the live operating room footage, a significant amount of excess skin was indeed removed. Despite this, the outcome has left me feeling much better and rejuvenated. I hope your procedure goes just as well. It’s truly one of the best decisions I've made for myself.

@@drjonmendelsohn thank you so much for replying. It was really kind of you to take the time. :)
It’s my pleasure. Thank you for interest and sharing. Should you have any additional questions along the way we are all happy to provide our input. Thank you.
Had it done 15 yrs ago. The best decision.
I agree, this is simply one of the best procedures anyone can undergo to look more refreshed and feel better about themselves. It's great to hear that it was such a positive decision for you. Thank you again for your comment!
how are you doing? do u still recommend this procedure? any problems?
Hi. I am doing very well, thank you.
I couldn’t be happier with the eyelid surgery, the process, and the overall experience. My results were noticeable immediately and I haven’t had any problems at all.
Like mentioned in an earlier post, I wish I had this performed 10 years ago!
Thank you for your interest.
i am getting this done soon.
Good luck! You will love the result and wonder why you waited …. Wonderful procedure !
Good Luck!
You look great I’m on day 5 ,still have bruises
Wow your healing so well. I'm almost day 10 and my eyes are crusty oozy and swollen. I keep contacting my doctor and he says it's fine your healing. I'm so miserable
I'm sorry that your early recovery is not going as smoothly as you hoped. I might consider using some ointment such as Lacrilube and/or eye drops for the irritation. Stay on your steroids and also ice when you can. Things will turn around quickly for you! Hang in there and focus on the results!
You look amazing.
Thank you! I'm really happy I did this eyelid surgery. Made a big impact on how I feel. Thanks!
beautiful
Why did u heal so fast….im on day 3 and the bruises so dark now
How long does the numbing last
The local anesthesia lasts about 90 minutes. There is not any pain although occasionally a little burning sensation is noticed as it wears off. Cold compresses help during the early recovery. No pain medication is required!
@ I meant like numbness as in the nerves. When will it come back. I am 3 weeks post op and my eyelid still very
Numb. I’m worried
The numbness generally
Begins to improve within about 6 weeks. It is typical for the eyelids to feel numb. As the months progress - these will return to having a normal sensation.
However - you are reaching a timeframe where you will start to feel changes. Hang in there !! It just
keeps getting better!
@@drjonmendelsohn thankyou so much for responding. This gives me some peace of mind. 🙏🥰
Good luck, and try not to worry-you’ll likely be pleasantly surprised with how it goes!
thank you for sharing. you're beautiful
Thank you very much :)
When I look at the photos I almost forget how tired I looked.
Highly recommend eyelid rejuvenation under local anesthesia!
Looks great?👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Wow! Nice! Does it still feel numb when applying makeup?
Initially it does feel numb when applying makeup, mostly towards the center of the eyelid. But that resolves and improves every day, every week throughout the recovery process.
I’m 6 months out and the numbness is completely gone
You look fantastic 😍 ❤️ ❤
start to finish cost?
Thank you for your question about the cost of upper eyelid surgery. The cost of blepharoplasty is between $4,500 and $5,500. There are no additional costs for visits, phone calls, Zoom calls, or other communications. This procedure is simply one of the best investments anyone can make! Thank you for your interest, and please let us know if you have any other questions.
Good video. Btw, You don’t need the mascara. You look great without it.
Oh thank you! I appreciate that!
How much you payed total
The cost of the eyelid surgery was approximately $5500
How much did it cost? TIA
The cost for an upper blepharoplasty can range from $4,500 to $15,000. Dr. Mendelsohn's fees are around $5,000 to $6,500. I strive to provide excellent results and personalized care within this range. Thank you for your interest!
Superbe !
It doesn’t always work out so seamlessly. You can get really bad black eyes from bleeding that last for about 3 weeks, your eyelids can stay discoloured permanently
They can pull your eyebrows down when removing skin and they can also change the shape of your eyes.
(See this video th-cam.com/video/xc5IS_SoDlA/w-d-xo.html)
That being said, many concerns you mentioned, like bleeding and bruising, can often be minimized with the proper local anesthesia technique.
@@noseandfins1 what exactly is the issue now?
My question is does your eyes 👀 close they way they were before I heard that some people's yes do not close properly 🤔.
Just to let you no you do not look bad at all with out make-up your a very beautiful lady 😊
Hi! Yes, my eyes did close completely. They did mention that sometimes, during the first couple of hours, the eyelids may not fully close due to the local anesthesia and swelling. However, in my case, they closed just fine, and I didn’t have any issues at all.
First week after mine the the antibiotic gell would get in my eyes. It didn't hurt but I couldn't really see. So I'd just put a frozen eye mask on.
Looking real good, congrats, doctors are very good as well ,but yours beautiful face makes all the difference, looking amazing age 56 ,I could say 40s,
Am jealous 😅😊
Is the nose next???Maybe more space between you and the camera.
Yeah my thoughts exactly. I shouldn't talk as I have a large nose myself. At least her eyes are large too
Her nose needs greatly reducing and shaping. I think she should still do that.
Thank you.
I’ve heard it’s important to stay out of the sun while the incisions are healing.
Not supposed to wear makeup on day 6!
She looks younger
You looked way better Thani did
Everyone's journey and results are unique, and it's important to celebrate each individual's progress. I'm sure you look great too. The key is to feel confident and happy with your results. If you have any concerns or need further assistance, feel free to reach out. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

I don't like before/after photos that include make-up.
Guarda il naso

She also had a face lift..... That was not just an upper hooded eye lift... Very disingenuous!!!
Appreciate your feedback! Just to clarify, this patient exclusively underwent an upper blepharoplasty, without any additional treatments. Our patients are eager to share their experiences because many initially doubted the authenticity, thinking it was more about "selling" than genuine results. While it's flattering that you perceive a facelift effect, she actually didn't undergo that procedure. We'll definitely convey your kind words to her!
He did a great job! You look fantastic, I really need this, my eye lids are so heavy its difficult to keep them open 😜🩵
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that you think the results look fantastic. If your heavy eyelids are causing you difficulty, upper eyelid surgery could be a great solution for you. It can significantly improve both the appearance and function of your eyelids. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or would like to discuss this further. Thank you again! 🩵😜
How much did this cost you
Honestly you do not look that bad at all but it takes time and you will feel much better look better to 😊

hi i have done one eye surgery since 3 weaks but my eye swelling is to much 😢i am so worri about this
I had this done in 2005 and now I’m 70 and it makes an amazing difference in giving you a more youthful look! I highly recommend it if you hate your puffy lids.
I saw how long my mom had the flap over her eyes and knew I didn’t want that. Got a great plastic surgeon referral and went right in.
Do it.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It's wonderful to hear how much of a difference the procedure has made for you, even years later. An upper eyelid surgery can indeed provide a more youthful appearance and address concerns like puffy lids effectively.
It's great that you took proactive steps after seeing your mom's experience and found a skilled plastic surgeon. Your recommendation and positive outcome can be very encouraging for others considering this procedure. Thank you again for your thoughtful comment!
beautiful
Thank you! 😊
Wow you look good
Thank you :). I feel great. Many people can't believe that all I have done were my eyelids.
