What a beautiful friendship these 3 must have had for those 12 years. And what a blessing the couple must've been to this widow for the rest of her life. ❤❤❤
Kevin Zavian is a really nice guy. I met him in Omaha, while working the show, the second time AR came to Nebraska. We talked for a minute about the weather (ha), and a bit more about cars. I had a 1963.5 Ford Galaxie 500, and he started talking about some late 1950's Chrysler he had. He really made my day, for taking a few minutes to chat.
Personally, I thought they were both on the ugly side, but they're far better than some of the stuff ARS has been showing lately, like that ugly bat necklace, etc.
@@hxhdfjifzirstc894 See, I would have adored the bat necklace, too, though I understand that it takes an unusual person to appreciate things like that. :0)
Sweetness and kindness of this couple in their young days was the magic for this lonely widow. She showed her gratitude with her cherished pieces of jewelry. This lady deserves it and wear it with pride. God bless. 💗💗🙏🏼🙏🏼
“We were apart of the Trader Vicks Sunday night dinner event” “Once a month for twelve years” Moments in time are precious and for some reason that struck a cord with me.
I hope she wears these with real pleasure, remembering how she and her husband had lovely dinners with a fine lady for yrs. Yes they are expensive, but they were made to be worn and enjoyed. For nice dinners , theatre nights, special holidays. Yes, in the event of some family disaster they can be sold. That's how fine jewelry gets released back into the wild. But until then, do ax the widow would want; wear them in happiness.
yes i think gifts like that are so beautiful because they can be worn and enjoyed for many generations, but also sold for necessity if that time ever comes. maybe this woman's child or grandchild will come into hard times someday and will truly need the money that this would bring at auction, the value of which may increase even more someday. i think it's a gorgeous gift to pass down whether it's worn or sold.
I think that the older woman wanted those two pieces to go to someone who admired them and would wear them. To go to dinner once a month for years and years, that’s a special relationship. The new owner should wear them and cherish the memory of her friend.
Ya gotta love the way she lights up when she hears "VCA." She obviously has done a bit of homework on her jewellery, and I bet it made this so much more exciting!
It felt like he was calling a play by play at a baseball game and not simply appraising a ring. Hanging his every word, on the edge of your seat in the bottom of the 9th, bases loaded, score tied, 2 outs, 2 strikes, 3 balls and the pitcher lines up his throw...
That's kind of what I thought too. In all honesty it seems like it should be closer to that amount then only 15 to $20,000. That seems ridiculously low for 18 carats of diamonds
I was amazed at how close the diamonds were in the ring. They look like each diamond used the other diamond as the proms. I think it's called. The puece that would normally hold the diamond in place. Awesome thou.
A jeweller would need access to many, many packets of diamonds to match the stones in this bracelet. Superb. A famous quote comes to mind: "Quality is remembered, long after price is forgotten" Oscar WILDE (1854-1900)
Both pieces are beautiful I love how those tiny diamonds kn the sides if the ring sparkle and flash yellow and blue colors And the guy is awesome. Obviously educated and smart but his accent is so hardcore Brooklyn street.
I'm southern, live in SC. We've got some great folks who moved down here from new York and New jersey. I don't mind hearing their accent. Bless their hearts, many of them came down because of 9/11
Now I'm wondering about a pin my brother gave me that has Van Cleef & Arpel on the back. It's a gold horse with a pearl in the body, what looks like some rubies or garnets, and a couple of diamond chips. I've had for about 44 yrs. I always thought it was costume jewelry, still might be.
May not be, it depends on the clarity of the diamonds. If they were top grade it would be worth millions. Obviously they are not, they have inclusions. Flawless diamonds are expensive, don't be fooled by the carat or size.
I agree and was thinking same I would have thought the bracelet would be worth. Around 50k but clarity is everything in diamonds . D flawless and vvsi or flawless. Would be millions
These are no good in a coffin. Passing them on for someone else to enjoy is the best way...ask the ancient Egyptians. They constantly dig them up looking for stuff like this.
Geesh! I clicked on it, and i was expecting him to say! "In today's market at auction, it will bring half a million to a million dollars, i would insured if i was you! For 2 millions"
Fine jewellery is a work of art! Why even consider auctioning it off when one can wear it and be happy doing do. I would wear both pieces as often as possible on special occasions. Those two lovely pieces were gifts from the heart and should be treated as such.
Imagine the generosity of the lady. To give it away to people for being personable. ... she had class.
I think she stole them from the old lady lol

His father used to do appraisals on the show, too.
The accent of this fella is brilliant 👏👏 I love it!

12 years of the lady's husband banging the widow lol
This lady deserves it, she seems very kind.
Yes, Jewish people are good at seeming to be kind.
I would have loved to meet the old woman who wore these baubles. She clearly had a fabulous style.
That ring design is gorgeous, even if was not real diamonds!

When De Niro talks, you listen lol
Great showmanship.
Love it when Kevin does an appraisal!
Both pieces are Lovely, but the ring is breathtaking. A true work of art.

All those drinks with little umbrellas. & so many Tiki torches.

“I’m not here for the bracelet.”
The updated appraisal of $15K-20K is still low. A total of 18 carats of fine white diamonds set in heavy platinum?? More like 30K-50K.
