Scott thank you for bringing some sanity to at times an insane industry. People overkill/overdue everything about detailing. You're the no nonsense voice in the maddening world of detailing products.
I had this product in my wish list for months, but thanks to your video I'm going to buy it. Meguiars makes great products but does a terrible job of informing the buyer of product benefits or even proper use of the product.
i bought this to clean my friends kia soul that had not been washed in 2 years, after watching this video. It worked phenomenally well. i really appreciate the tip
Scott thanks for pointing this wash out. I used this before I clayed my car, then glazed it, waxed and sealed with Meguiar's Ultimate Fast Finish and it looks awesome. My car is Silver and it shines like a diamond now.
Like you said, this soap definitely does strip the wax. Notice how when he first sprayed the car, the water beaded right off, but after he washed it the that soap it’s like the car has never been waxed before. Just saying!
lol I just had to take a 2nd look at that, and your right, looked like he had a wax on or sealant before, then after he rinsed it off it wasn't beading up any more, looks like a good way to prep a car for a clay bar *like he mentioned* and a machine polish + a Iron remover. Might get this to prep my car for a ceramic coat, I use Meguiar's hybrid ceramic wax atm, but I want something a little more permanent lol. So in theory this *should* strip it lol.
Scott another brilliant auto detailing video!!! You are fast becoming the most informative and interesting auto detailer on TH-cam. I thank you for all your hard work on your videos and keep up the good work!
That is great. And like u said even for the general public that has 0 interst in paying a detailer or anybody else because they just don't care or see the value in it. But even uneducated people making a half ass effort to care for their own vehicles and apply some sort of wax or gloss enhancing product this without them even knowing or realizing it will help them because their product will bond better and ultimately they will just achieve better results without even knowing what's going on. This is why meguiars stays relevant in the car care industry they cater to everyone. They obviously market and sell I might add to people that will put a absolute minimum amount of effort. Brilliant
I just bought 6 bottles for 8 bucks a piece since i heard they were discontinuing it. Looking forward to using it when it comes in. Also bought that purple power car wash to use as well.
Just got this for $7.28 after tax at pep boys. One hell of a deal if you ask me. This is great to use in combination with their Hybrid Ceramic Wax spray, as this soap thoroughly prepares the surface for a fresh coat of protectants, and or sealants without paying $50 for a dedicated paint preparation soap!
I have a trade and have worked with my hands for decades . I can spot someone who knows their craft . I don't care if your a carpenter as I am , or a tile man , an electrician or a detail man such as yourself . In two weeks I have learned more about car car than in my previous 60'yrs. thank you .
Ok, at first I thought you were insane, but I'm with you. I hate the idea of people using this on a regular basis and I'd rather they left the maintenance to me rather than using an abrasive soap regularly. However, most cars more than 3 years old are wrecked and could use a good scrubbing. For myself, well it a bit expensive, but if it reduces my initial wash time significantly I'm in. Every new customer I bring in for a full exterior detail, the initial wash drives me mad. Bug guts, tar, bird droppings, baked on gunk, grease, and dirt everywhere. It's a pain in the butt just getting the car clean enough to clay let alone polish. So, if it takes away that nightmare, it just might be worth a try.
Scott thanks for this great review once again. I added this to my arsenal and had 2 express washes and they came out fantastic clients loved the results. You rock thanks again
I found this easily at Advanced Auto Parts. Buy Online and Pick up in Store (BOPS) and I paid less than $8 because they were offering 20% BOPS orders + I used eBates. That said, I couldn't' agree with Scott more. If the car is already scratched and swirled up, why bother with the two (some people use three - one for wheels) buckets, wasting 10+ gallons of water, car soap, etc. One step. No, it will not remove rust - to whoever wrote that, there's no car wash product that will remove rust. Nor do I think it will remove iron contaminants it will, however, get the vehicle ready for the next step. Iron remover, tar remover, clay or just a final sealant and/or wax. All that for less than $8???? Keep 'em coming, Scott.
2010 tundra super white , looks great, cleans paint surface ,windows with real scrubbing power .leave a polished look . a winner for sure !!chrome ,too
Thanks! Some of the buying public live on dirt roads in dusty country. We are not all denizens of the concrete jungle. While it's not productive in that environment to return a car to showroom condition every week or two, we do occasionally wash off the accumulated dirt and it's good to learn what we can do that may improve appearance. We are well aware that our vehicles are not in show condition, yet we do clean them periodically.
I wondered about this car washing product, now, Scott Thanks for your knowledgeable review of this Meguiar's Wash Plus, I see the possible use of it , and if it make's my clay baring my car easier, I may try it to help remove old finishes . Anything that can improve the Claying process is a plus. Thanks a bunch Scott, love your videos !!!!
I/we thank you for real world professional experience with products. There are too many people spouting off how some product works but they don't have the experience to make that claim, or they're simply pushing a product so you can't trust a word. I washed and detailed for a year or so and learned a ton, so thank you for sharing your black belt level experience!
Another great review of a product. No two situations are the same and I can see the value to having this in your back pocket for those situations where your customers just don't give a damn. You never know maybe the customer might be impressed on how well the paint turned out so that next time they might be willing to pay a little extra for a higher level of service.
At last i found a down to earth honest car detailer. I once had full paint correction ect ect and was so scared to drive my every day car. Got to try this soap.
I watched this video a couple days ago and decided to give this a try today before a full paint correction and holy sh!t this stuff is awesome!! Thanks so much for the review. I could literally feel the polish working as i was scrubbing the car down.
I have been detailing cars, and anything else I can, for 40 years, and Meguiar's Cleaner Wax (paste) was the product that started it all for me. Needless to say, I am a Meguiar's freak, and I love their products -- at least most of them. With that being said, I can tell you right away that this product is NOT the best car wash on the planet for every situation, but it could be the best prep car wash on the planet for a vehicle that is about to be detailed. I say this because, if you have a car that has already been cleaned, polished and waxed/sealed, you don't want to strip it off, unless moderate to severe damage has been done to the paint, or it has been neglected for quite some time. As long as you maintain the wax/sealant and keep your car free from contaminants, you should not have to clean or polish it for quite some time. Whatever you do, just don't take it to a car wash. Either wash it yourself with the right products and techniques, or hire a professional like this dude, and you will be okay. Thanks for the video, Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing, as I will add this wash to my arsenal of detailing products as soon as I can. The crazy thing is, I am currently (as I write this) in the middle of detailing my mother-in-law's truck. God bless you all!
Just bought this to see how it worked and wow, it stripped all the wax and sealant and man did some grime and gunk come off the car (i bought it already with wax and sealant) the shine was amazing love it so far.
Awesome! Thanks Scott! I get asked to wash peoples car who don't take care of them. Next time I will make it easier on myself while giving them a good quick wash. Your videos are honest and refreshing.
Hey I have to tell a story on myself here. I was going to use this to prep my car for a new sealant (I know I know I need to clay bar/polish etc but I'm not a pro just trying to remove the old product and maybe get a slight polishing effect), and it didn't work. At 1st I was bummed thinking the video was wrong or something. Then I realized that the product at the bottom of the bottle was a light yellow and the color coming out onto my wash mitt was an orange color. Needless to say I failed to shake the bottle sufficiently and the little polishing agents were still at the bottom of the bottle. I must say I had to shake the hell out of it to get it to truly mix together. I think maybe because it was discontinued a long time ago the product had really settled severely. I will try again in a couple weeks and see if it works better when properly blended. Looking back at this video I realize now that all I really got was a typical soapy foam, rather than a chalky consistency like Scott had on his car. Just a heads up to anyone who's using it, make sure when you shake it up you are doing a thorough job especially on your first use.
Yes! Great product that fills a big need. Meguiars has really stepped up their game lately with some very cool "outside of the box" products. Thanks for bringing this product to everyones attension. Like that you have many tools for the job needed.
Nice! I may try this before paint correction. I’m going to be doing a 2000 chevy Silverado that’s got a lot of surface defects and fallout build up . I plain do do a good wash, use a fallout remover spray I have carpro iron x, then a medium clay bar and follow up with either m105 & m205 or try just d300
Thinking of using this for my strip washes before new sealants/waxes. No contaminant issues, and dawn with a clay towel worked well for stripping, but I like the idea of this.
So it clearly strips the paint. So if you use this product, you then MUST apply some type of protectant? It would seem you are leaving your paint pretty naked if you don't.
Scott I am a novice detailer and I have a customer with a 2017 red Ford fusion and his car is real porous (rough) to the touch. By rubbing a baggie over it you can feel the roughness in the paint. Question Scott (step 1) should I wash the car prior to doing this technique and then clay bar (clay magic blue) the complete car? (Step 2) Do I then use Duplicolor Grease And Wax Remover to make the clear coat virgin again? )Step 3) Scott what waxes or sealant would you recommend me to use on this vehicle. Looking for insight on this future project? Love your videos!!! Show less REPLY
I am a huge fan of Megs Wash Plus+, if you want go even further with it buy a bottle of Turtle Wax Ice Speed Compound. TWI Speed Compound can be rinsed off, so add TWI:SC with the Megs Wash Plus you can get a great finish just washing.
Just bought MWP, set a timer and with 3 wash mitts ( one for each hand, then one for the wheels and tires ) I did my whole car and dried it with my " I HATE DETAILING, TWISTED PILE " large MF....16:47....New record time, with amazing results !
I would use that soap based solely on the fact that I can use it without being anal regarding horizontal strokes. Bc let’s face it ... I’m a rookie ... and I’m impatient and I have no clue what I’m doing lol! But that’s why I’m here watching your channel, Scott! Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for posting Scott, it seems like a good product for what you are using it for but I think a problem may come up with a non pro using it every weekend for a long time, then thin spots are produced on the clearcoat in some areas maybe where they press harder like the top of the hood or trunk. This could cause some real problems for a detailer hired to do a paint correction later on.
Thanks for the good review Scott. nice that it strips wax like nothing with just a wash. How abrasive is it if you compare it to Mag's ultimate polish?
I don't see a lot of this product in store you should do a review on the Lukat Fix It product I got it on TH-cam but got it in a 3 set wax sealant and 2 polish cleaners for it for 59 dollars. I been buying a lot online lately but now want to just buy in store but the Meguiars Plus Wash don't see in stock really in stores a lot. Was gonna remove the wax on my vehicle and you said this stuff has polish in it so if I get this product can already have the polish back on and just put the wax back on top of it.
Thanks for the info. I have a turd to polish and I'm going to try this "correcting soap" from Meguiars to make the clay process easier. Glad to hear it's relatively cheap and available over the counter. My cabinet is starting to get quite brand-centric so it'll be nice to have a Megs product in there too. If I like it, it'll have a permanent home. Well...maybe not, once I detail this turd I won't let it be neglected by its owner/caretakers anymore, so maybe it'll be the first and last bottle I'll ever need.
Nice video. Makes for an interesting topic. Thanks! Question, I have a black car, with a very slight "roughing-up" sandy/almost chalkboard feeling from small clearcoat spots starting to give a little. Until I get my clearcoat corrected, how do you think this car wash soap would fare with black paint in this condition? Thanks ☕👍
Hi Scott, I wash my car twice per week and I wax it once per mounth with Collinite Insulator 845. Do you think that soap is good for me. I have very few swirls because I removed them with my GG6. I'm a beginner but I'm proud of what I do, but when you mentionned soap with abrasive in it I had to ask that question??? Very good video as usual, don't retire now I still need you for a couple of yeard :o)
I love the concept, but would it grind the dirt on the panel if it is very dirty? please whenever you work on a dark car that is bad show us how it performs. your SUV is almost perfect man😀 I love your videos👍
@DallasPaintCorrection I use this after using purple power car wash and an iron x product(meguiars or eagle one). Cars come out super clean and can apply any wax/sealant after! I bought six bottles lol!
Scott, i'd be curious to see you do a tape line and wash one swirled panel with a regular soap and another swirled panel with this. Just to see HOW much it actually removes. On another note, i'd like too see you mix some M205 & Gold Class together and see what you can do with that. ;)
im uploading a video now trying to answer those questions..Trent you are an amazing and a gifted young man!..its exactly what meguiars is trying to do!..its a new concept and hard for some to understand but my next video will show me using circle motions with my wash mitt and applying pressure and when panel drys i see no swirl marks but i do see paint that is truly clean and slightly polished!..thank you for being on the channel and i hope you like the next video that will be posted today and how i use this product to strip waxes and sealants:)
Hey man, I appreciate everything you upload. You do WAYYY more product testing then me, and I appreciate that. It's fun because you actually "test" the stuff, you don't just read the back of the bottle you use products for there intended use as well as non-advertised use.
Just looked it up on ebay here in the UK and the cheapest you can get ir for is £14,39. Nice review on it Scott. Im getting one. But yes it is funny and ironic how people want to drives expensive cars but dont want to spend money on it. Lol I cant stand dirty cars.
Scott Great informative videos!!! Keep it up. I want to know after using Meguiars Wash Plus and to use a clay bar, can i use the usual car soap/water to lube the clay bar or should i use dawn dishwashing soap so i don’t add anything to the paint in order to have the paint well prepped for waxing? Regards Mark
FYI? I spray this on my car before driving it thru my Towns Car wash- Only on the Rinse cycle only and it vacums it off great , cost? $3 to use the Rinse Wash
Scott: It seems pretty clear to me that you had wax protection on the door of your Navigator. You wet the door and the water beaded up. Then you scrub it with the Meguiar's Wash Plus. When you rinse it off the water sheets off. Water no longer beads on the door. How does it make sense to scrub off the was protection if you are not going to go right back in and protect the surface again?
the navigator has no protection..when a surface is clean and i mean with no bonded contaminates or traffic film plus the panel is true meaning flat, water will bead on the surface my friend:)..the meguiars wash plus has a polish in it and left behind after using and the water behavior changes..i have been dealing with paint for over 26 years and not just a wax will give you water beading..im sorry but your assumption is wrong but i understand why you felt that way
Great video Scott! I’m new to this detailing stuff! I just bought a new 2019 bmw m240i and put 1300 miles on it so far in the northeast with salted roads. It’s alpine white, how do I do a first wash? I rather not touch the paint at all scared to scratch the paint or coat. Just bought and electric ryobi 1800 psi pressure washer with foam cannon and chemical guys honeydew foam soap. But I’m afraid to use it on my new car! I bought all this shit to wash the car and watching TH-cam but now afraid to use it on my new bmw? What do you suggest? Wish your service was available in my area. Thanks Scott!
I have a black truck, it’s new, I live in the hot sun in NV, My last wash gave me some water spots due to the dam hot sun, I assume this would help remove the water spots so i can start fresh? Obviously I will clay bar, and wax after?
Scott thank you for bringing some sanity to at times an insane industry. People overkill/overdue everything about detailing. You're the no nonsense voice in the maddening world of detailing products.
It strips your protection( Wax and sealants) so its good for Prep washing, not for a general wash
What is a good soap which doesn’t strip stuff. Curious.
@@lotus956 Most Car Shampoos that are Ph Nueteral.
You completely missed the point fo the video.
I have Car Wash Plus and mainly use it on lower body panels only, where it removes much of the gunk kicked up from the tires. Works well.

Awesome find, Scott! ! Ive seen it but didn't know what it was Greetings from Allen, TX
Thinking of using this for my strip washes before new sealants/waxes. No contaminant issues, and dawn with a clay towel worked well for stripping, but I like the idea of this.
Gonna have to pick this up and give it a try! Thanks for the info!
I've been using Meguiars Car Wash and Dawn Dishwashing Soap (under the hood and for hard to remove stuff). This sounds like a great product for me!
So it clearly strips the paint. So if you use this product, you then MUST apply some type of protectant? It would seem you are leaving your paint pretty naked if you don't.

Perfect product. The car are very shine and it was nothing on the glay bar after one pass.
remember, I don't have to over think the moment.
very true..but also worth noting is knowledge has to be known and believed in order to keep it simple:)
ignorance is a form of simplicity as well:)..you decide
Words to live by, seriously...people over think a bag of chips
This is a great product! I've used it twice and love it. Thanks for the great review!
I uses this before clay barrimgt and this work really well that they wasn't much dirt when I started to clay bar
Thanks for the good review Scott. nice that it strips wax like nothing with just a wash.
How abrasive is it if you compare it to Mag's ultimate polish?
donkeykify it's not a polish so very poor
If this reduces my clay bar time I'm sold!
Nice that you are washing a car that is already clean.
Wow thats incredible. That red color came out shinier ... It was flat before you use that thing....
Scott could you use liquid lava soap that has a light pumps in the soap basically same thing
Does it help remove swirlmarks? Probably would be good on the hood trunk and roof where you notice swirlmarks.
I have a few swirls on my black car. Will this be a good alternative to rubbing compound/polish? I don't have an orbital polisher.
Thanks ☕👍
It seems that this product is no longer being sold. Do you have any other recommendations. Thanks
Since it's somewhat abrasive do you think it could damage backup camera lenses on some vehicles.
Thanks, you just saved me tons of time and $! this makes sense to me!!!
I'm assuming I could use a sealant after using this? This will be great in my restricted water wash routine
I love the concept, but would it grind the dirt on the panel if it is very dirty?
please whenever you work on a dark car that is bad show us how it performs.
your SUV is almost perfect man😀
I love your videos👍
@DallasPaintCorrection I use this after using purple power car wash and an iron x product(meguiars or eagle one). Cars come out super clean and can apply any wax/sealant after! I bought six bottles lol!
Hello Scott, love your channel. Would you recommend using this soap on a Brand new car straight from the factory.
seems like it's discontinued
It's fun because you actually "test" the stuff, you don't just read the back of the bottle you use products for there intended use as well as non-advertised use.
its like your in my head..i actually say in the video that will be uploaded today its like meguiars put m205 in the wash!
how does an abrasive soap remove scratches from a car? would't add more? i'm just trying to understand. can you break this down for me?
Just looked it up on ebay here in the UK and the cheapest you can get ir for is £14,39. Nice review on it Scott. Im getting one. But yes it is funny and ironic how people want to drives expensive cars but dont want to spend money on it. Lol
I cant stand dirty cars.
Scott can you actually see the difference ? will it reduce the swirls and knock off the road grime? my car is black with swirls
thanks!
Great video, very unbiased and very informative.
Scott, if I use the miracle wash, and then clay bar with say ONR for lube, (not detail spray) can I then put down my sealant?
Scott
Great informative videos!!! Keep it up. I want to know after using Meguiars Wash Plus and to use a clay bar, can i use the usual car soap/water to lube the clay bar or should i use dawn dishwashing soap so i don’t add anything to the paint in order to have the paint well prepped for waxing?
Regards
Mark
Mark Perez either is gonna be better than water, just want something that will keep the paint slick
Hey Scott! Still the best? Looking for my dealership cars, mostly like 06-10 models, so I dont need anything crazy! TIA!
So, you use this shampoo, then Clay, then use a compound, then use a polish and then use a wax ???
Scott, this product was taken out the company by their saying does not meet their standard. What would you use to replace it?
My question to you Scott, is this safe for vehicles with black paint and not create a bigger problem.
Scott, How often should i use this soap, and whats your thoughts on claying a car and then using f11?
Thanks Scott!
like this product how does it handle water spots?
I have a black truck, it’s new, I live in the hot sun in NV, My last wash gave me some water spots due to the dam hot sun, I assume this would help remove the water spots so i can start fresh? Obviously I will clay bar, and wax after?
